awesome time. sad I missed it.
What would determine mind attacks(damage, control, illusions)?
the regular attack stat. just because it comes from a different medium doesn't make them any better or worse at attacking.
What would determine the ability to dodge traps or avoid a charging rhino?
the defense stat. It represents the ability to not be hurt in such situations. Especially since a charging rhino is a standard attack in my book.
man, I have to say a carcassone mod would be quite a site to see. What a great board game. While we are at it, we could have a settlers of catan mod too ^_^
is this on the main conference floor or was this in the lecture by frogboy on monday? Where is/was this playing/played? I like how animated the man is as you equip him with different options.
See, he loves a shirt. We have only a couple days left. lets see some drawings in MS paint or super rushed poems or something. we still have 4 shirts left!
I am going to be at GDC, but sadly not on monday. I have been visiting family in the san francisco area until today (tuesday). because my pass doesn't even start until wednesday. Hopefully I will somehow still see you Frogboy. It is a shame you could not go mittens. Maybe somebody will bring you back some shwag, and you can attend next year. Its ironic, last year I had the monday-tuesday pass, but there were not speakers that I was really excited
Thanks guys. Personally, I don't think Stardock is worthy to be in the top 50 of all time but we are delighted to think some people feel tha tway.
add 'humble' or 'modest' to the list! XD I personally would like to see stardock on the list and have no doubt that they will, but they need more time to develop. I forsee -stardock someday being known as one of "those awesome companies" that everybody wants to wo
Good list, though I kinda like the "keep it simple, stupid" stat systems of games like master of magic. You know, where there is basically only 3 or 4 stats. HP Attack Defence Ammo/Mana Maybe: (in that only a few units would have different) Move Terrain Boundaries Based on the "Balance of Power" post, I'm under the strong impression that Stardock is going for something similar, without all that fancy
I understand your desire not to compare games that are... well, not the same game. However comparison is such a vague term. I'm not one to say 'one is better than another' the way I would elect that I liked certain aspects of one over the other.
Horses mouth my ass, none of the horses in that diagram said anything!
I fear that Psychoak is correct. The horses really did not tel
man, you can get city slicker's 2 for ten bucks? I have not played that yet :P
These pics were taken just yesterday, nice how i'm the only one in the 'Demigod QA fire team' pic. A Fire Team of One!
ah, so you're that lonely person. Glad to see you hard at work helping make demigod awesome. Thank you I have to ask, what makes it the 'fire team', is that opposed to the 'water team' ? or is it like 'fire team' as in you run in with guns 'a blazing?
Well, you can do allied victory by getting everybody to like you, though its very hard since like 90% of the missions seem to be to attack your ally
If this game had bone dragons (as they are called in Heroes of Might and Magic) that would certainly be pretty cool.
Just to clarify, we will only be designing humans and fallen? We will not be able to make units like undead or constructs? What about magically augmented units (augmentations that make them something not quite human)?.
yeah, I was kinda imagining we'd have a lot of freedom based on how the custom unit thing was described. Maybe he only means in the base game (it would be kinda insane if you could build 'anything'
I kinda imagine a council would be along the as the 'governers' discussed in other threads, except by different names. That would allow you to monitor and assign tasks to each of the different 'brains' of your kingdom (or is it channelerdom?) beyond just city management.
Landisaurus has successfully cast: Forum thread Necromancy Alright, I thought my next piece of art was going to be the air elemental rider... Which it almost was, then school and work got in the way >_>; I wasn't making that piece to be anything grand, and I hope to have it up sometime after GDC. GDC however, does not move for my schedule, and I wanted to create a grand piece for it. Elemental gave m
I can't take credit for the music, I only edited it to remotly match what was happening. The song is called 'fundamentum'
so this is the official world eh? hmmm. Makes me wonder how the single player campaign is going to play out. (it doesn't look like there is more than one master of magic style *tear* )
yeah, I'm totally confused how we are expected to wrapping solve the lack of tesselation in octagons for the above stated reason. That being said, we could have a complex over-lapping system (where octagons overlap each other, i.e. put another octagon over every 'G' as seen in piderman's diagram so that the diagnols of each octogon passes through the centers of the adjascent octogons.) to create the best system! again though, programming would be a pain in the butt.
thanks. I saw it entirely because I was sitting in the irc chat when it was posted and there was talk about it. Had that not happened, and you not posted here, I would have missed it.
Master of Magic had a ton of non-combat spells. So I see this game following in the same foot steps. The above threads cover it though.
well, I'm not about to answer for him, but I still want to comment based on my own experiance. Hexes are so much harder to create than squares I think. Also, hexes are only 50% bettar than squares, you run into the exact same inaccacies when you try to go any direction that isn't one of the faces. You gain the power to make 30 degree turns at the loss of the ability to make 90 degree right turns. So I wouldn't say its that much more accurate of represen
I like that fantastic creatures are so special. I do hope there is a way that allows to recruit some fantastic creatures with realitive ease though (like goblins or sprites for example), I mean I like having my hordes of monsters type armies. I mean they aren't all going to be dragons and stuff with 3 digit attack strengths compared to the single digit normal guys, right? I really like the scale of power. I think its going to put dragons and such where I believe th
What DID sins do to stir up the ESRB? I haven't heard anything about that.
I believe on the regular stardock/impulse site they have a post about that. Pinned even, I remember running accross it on my own looking for something completely unrelated. You may want to google search it, since I remember it being really easy to find. You might find it on your own before an official voice has time to post anything.
