Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about Elemental...with over 6 months of Beta-testing and player feedback, I have no doubt the final package will be up to par
See, and here comes BoogieBac to show that they do look at the forums, they do care, and reitterate my point. More and More developers are trying to get the fan communities involved in guiding the development process. But Stardock actually is the one that

I made a change, I inbedded the video so you don't have to leave the comfort of the forums to watch it. I knew when I posted it that I should have done it this way in the 1st place, but for some reason it kept crashing my browser when I tried to update the HTML. I decided I'd wait for some sort of update (either to my browser or the website) and try again. And it appears to have worked. edit: hmm... of course now that it doesn't have
I'm pretty sure Brad has commented in the past that it's not a direct se/prequel, but it does use a lot of the same characters and plot elements. Sort of in the GalCiv "multiverse" in the same manner as the stories he wrote, but not directly related to the game. That's just on my own foggy recollection though so I could be wrong.
I thought the way he phrased it was pretty vague. he said something like
'I think it s
I can't not help but mention that the Stardock support team (and me very infrequently) play WA at lunch almost every day. I think the cuurrnet run of settings is sheep only.
I can't help but mention that GDC had a new worms game that looked totally awesome. And it is apparently not out yet. I wish I wasn't so busy networking and trying to find a job, because I didn't get a chance to play it.

personally, I've felt your concern as well. But then I decided I'll wait until its release. I have a lot of faith in Stardock at this point, and it may not be MoM. But if the beta hits, and it isn't the above things, it will be your job (and everybody else) to provide feedback. As pointed out, 12 factions is plenty. So provided they 'feel' different, they really don't need to be different races per say. I think that one should be the the least

Well, here we are. Its the end of the contest. Sorry to all those who didn't know about it. For recap here we have Entry #1: Timbur > supporting of the community through spreading the word by e-mail Entry #2: Luckmann > Creating avatars for the community Entry #3: Kitkun > putting up with crap by the credit card companies again and again in hopes of getting Elemental pre-order Entry #4
My suggestion: Stardock hires Dave Sirlin to make a fighting game. Will either be a great hit, or a murder trial (Sirlin is difficult to work with, but has some real good ideas)
he said don't be a platform bigot, not genre bender. Not only would Sirlin possibly be hard to work along side, but I seriously doubt fighting games are something to which the devs are well adjusted. li

man, if you got an iphone, I would have to get one T_T I don't have a problem with the iphone in particular, but I don't like itunes which is related. My question is that you (stardock) plan to open a 2nd studio to create an RPG right? Well if you went to different platforms, especially something like iphone, you'd likely be looking at quite a different dynamic. Would you open up a 3rd smaller team for things like iphone or xbox arcade? That als

sounds like you need help with scope. I mean I'm all for supporting large scope games (I mean, I'd be a hypocrit if I didn't) but " i want it to be RTS-Real Time Strateg, FPS-First Person Shooter, and Simulator almost like Spore" is... well... damn! That is a TON of work. AAA titles have a hard time getting cross-genre games to work, and they've got teams of

are the gamerDNA people related to the GameRNA people? I met a few GameRNA guys, and made a joke about game DNA, not realizing that there was a gamerDNA group that actually might be related. I should find their business card. So did all of you go out thursday night, zoomba?

There were actually some booth babes in the career hall for realtime worlds, the people who made crackdown. There were also at least one booth babe at the N*gage. I
I'd not heard of Carcassonne and had to look it up
you seriously should. Head down to your local game shop (not video game shop, the classic kind) and take a look.
Honestly I'm a huge table top fan, before I left home, I ran 2 weekly games. But obviously I cant "DM" a game for everyone, so scripting a story and trying to give folks "choice" is about the best i can hope for. If its possible, I'll most likely end up doing both.
</

of course I'd love to speculate. I've been pretty busy though. Looking at the video from GDC (I guess monday?) I'd say the different animations are pretty complex. I guess thats why the decided not to include non-humanoid in the base-creation options. It would be pretty tough to expect non-modders to really create their own animations. Those that DO create their own animations could just create a mod. I would expect a simple TGA or PNG would w

well, I know from experiance on other sites. Complaigning about it doesn't help. In fact it makes it worse. what it does is makes people less likely to have any kind of public dates and encourages private sessions for releases. So many fan-communities have alienated the creators just because of demands for releases and such. I mean look at web-comics and such. At least many of them have a good humor about it, some really
As Sins was developed by Ironclad, it doesn't use a lot of the things that are common to all of our games (we use DesktopX for the UIs, for instance) that may not play well under emulation. So it's more likely that Elemental's compatibility would be more similar to GC2.
I find that GC2 is much window friendly compared to Sins, which is unwilling to change resolution while in windowed mode. So if thats an effect of DesktopX,

that is a very good point, Vicente, I had not even considered that. Play on words especially. I find a lot of 'dirty' jokes tend to translate very well though. For example, I've found 'rubber' to have the same alternate meanings in german, french, and japanese.

well, there was also the mention by frogboy to letting players have 'carcassonne', which would be quite a mod make-over. I really want to see good mod community. Like the overseer RP style play and all that, I would love if we had quality mods like that.
