Apparently I'm obsessive about certain questions, so I'll avoid those, even if they have not been addressed yet XD So, if we want to buy paraphernalia (shirt, poster... uh, mouse pad?), is there any chance we will be able to buy them from an official source? (I remember a teaser of some sort of shirt whipped up by marketing) How many different landscapes are planned to be included? I remember somebody asking about computer wall paper in the la

It would be neat if the top fan contributers got some sort of in game feature in the final version. Our names listed in default name generators for example. the city of Luckmania, or the Spear of Spartan for example (I believe those are the top in karma rank)
5 - 5 posts too many AH AH AH (all double posts due to forum troubles)
I was waiting for the code-pidgeons to get their feathered bums in gear, and I guess it posted itself again. Sorry about that.
ugh, double post
what about the post about it by Frogboy?
holy crap: This is 1
I certainly could discuss the "Wizard of Earthsea" and sequels by Ursula K. LeGuin (might have just butchered some spelling). Its one of my favorite fantasy books. I actually might go back and read them again, since I have not in a long time. It is about a novice wizard named "Ged" (he has another name, but I don't remember what it is. Ged is his "true name", so its very rarly used as anybody who knows it has a little bit of control over him ) that has a very natura
I approve of anything monkey island related! Monkey island used to be very on my list of "games that should be remade/sequel'd for modern systems" next to Master of Magic (now pending to be removed by Elemental), Dungeon Keeper, Quest for Glory, Carmagedon, etc. to be a channeler you must complete... the trails! You must show that you can handle magic You must show that you can lead an army You must start a civilization
I am 99% sure that every faction will be playable. Or do you mean in the campeighn? That I'm not sure about, but I doubt it: the GC2 campeighn only had one playable faction. This could easily change, however....
my goal of the question (because I already know it is not on the list of factions given to us by Frogboy a while back) was to bring up the fact that this was... well, a faction not on the list. I'm not really sure what else to say...
Am I obsessive about Myrror? I try to avoid just yelling "I want multiple plains" without a reason or prompt (like somebody asks "what do you want?") and I have stated the reasons I want them somewhere. Which, for any who might have missed it, includes I like the map complexity multiple plains provide and I like being able to effectively walk through enemy territory without actually doing so (because I'm on a different map, so unless a spell or something allows site on both, a pla
hmm, in Darkodinplus's post there is another symbol with which I am not familar. It is on what appears to be a BLACK mana bar. If it were not for the discovery of the gold version of the life symbol I would have assumed that black mana's symbol to be the death symbol. That entire menu looks a bit more 'death magic' than the others. Are Krax playable? I don't remember them being listed in the list of the faction names a while back. (I
I remember learning about how we can't detect most space junk out there, and that there is a very good chance that if a meteor was heading towards earth we would have no way of detecting it unless it happened to pass in front of something else. I guess it is pretty scary to think about how there could be one of those "invisable" meteors heading our way. I say, this is why we funnel tons of money into polluting the atmosphere of mars with green house gases, find a way to plant th
In the expansions, we will all be asking for more canon graphics assets. (i) More races (ii) More spells (iii) More magic creatures (i.e. unicorns) (iv) More scenery / dungeons
Well, naturally, but that is all fat, so to speak. If an expansion contained only the listed above things, I'd feel like it were an expansion to the Sims (which most of them to me are not worth the price tag given to them). Expansions sh
so is there a fallen race that has discovered their evil ways are somehow better suited with life magic? (or something like that?) When I first saw the red waters, I hoped that was the alternate world (MoM style)
I meant was that I hope we won't get too swamped by dubious suggestions from random people who have no concept of how to play the game, or are just trolling.
well, there will be some of that. But stardock has been able to wade through the troll filth in the past. I have faith that it will be fine.
Demigod had a 10 player maximum, and its limited to 2 teams. For a 4x strategy game of the scale Stardock has been talking, I would be horrified if it were any less than 12 players, if not more (I wouldn't want more than 12 human players, but that isn't the point) Civilization 4 had a TON of player slots, and the diplomacy and tension that created was the life-blood of that game. I would expect this game to be no different (except they have magic, not tanks)
We will test all this essence thing during the beta so no worries. Just so "we" know what we are doing....
Sounds like you have not been particularly involved with a Stardock Beta before. It is as wintersong suggests, there are going to be changes, sometimes pretty massive ones, during the development process. Stardock does their betas for more than "to let fans know what they are doing in time for release", in fact... I'd say that is
where did you notice an 8 player maximum?
I really did like how several "tiles" could be included in a battle, thus allowing several players into the same fight. If its not in this game, I won't mind, though it would be nice if it were. I'd like to see something interesting with combat. Though, the heavy use of X-com as an example system that is similar has me very pumped. I'm leery on espionage and assassinations, mainly because I'm tired of it. In Civ IV warlords, I wish I could
I'm sure it will be pretty darn modable. In terms of SDKs, they will have tools to help with the modding process, I don't see why an SDK (or something like it) wouldn't be available in some form by launch.
