Good stuff for sure. You just know it will rock on dual 30" monitors!!! [e digicons]B)[/e]
Did we get any sort of official responce on possible duel-screen support? It would be very handy in a strategy game to be able to use BOTH screens as different partss of the UI.

does this count as a gameplay video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEAx6lMGaQ4 I mean, its like a super-duper alpha (whatever comes before alpha), but many of the mechanics are there. You have a default guy right? He can't really do much... just play cards or something. Then you equip him with "magic robe" and its now a different unit! Now you've got some battle mages! I'm under th
I'm hoping to see a variety of terrain features by the final release. So far, the primitive maps we've seen generated in things like boogiebac's ascii videos don't seem to have any real sign of elevation (other than perhaps signs of beaches) but I hope that by the finished version we will see such things. In HoMM's defense. Logically, a whole army would be hindered a lot more by changes in ground over long distances (outside of combat) than they would
I am taking my first steps to having the resources to start a mod, and I felt I should share it with the rest of you. Wall of Text Warning: Feel free to skip to the bottom if you don't actually care. There I have the " <span style="font-size:
teasers very rarely have anything in them. You think the Elemental teaser sucked? Have you SEEN other teaser trailers? (for example: FF3's was just a floating crystal for 10 seconds... NOTHING ELSE. Duke Nukum was just a man pumping iron. Sonic unleashed was just a hand and a ring.) Elemental had one of the better "teaser trailers" out there that come to mind. Secondly, what did you want from the Demigod intro? An intro movie is suppo
FANTASTIC! I love them.
Awesome stuff. I can't wait to see whats in the beta! I especially like that background You call those Commidore 64 graphics? They are Better than Master of Magic's graphics already, which is post C64. that I think also sets a bit of false pre-tenses. 'cause I bet it has higher min-requirements than say... a C64 emulator
is there going to be a beta version of the book if we pre-order it :P
I'm hoping to hear lots of trumpets and woodwinds, in the same sense that they were used in Master of Magic (just less obviously MIDI) Music is one of my favorite parts of games, and stardock has given me the impression they are really happy with the music they have for Elemental. So I can't wait to hear it.
Master of Magic had "large shields" which was like Shield defense, but didn't reduce movement. Untits that had it sometimes had reduced movement, but the ability did not 'cause' reduced movement. It makes sense that a person with a tower shield would be slower, but don't forget things like mutants or golems that might be able to wield huge shields with no effect to their movement (in the case of golems, they are likely already pretty slow. But you could give shields
I think the real magic is (apart from the solid mechanics) is presentation. I have FUN watching Master of magic. Like, I can watch somebody else play it, which I can't really say about Heroes of Might and Magic, or Age of Wonders. the diversity of appearance in terrain makes it look interesting enough to look over (where say, age of wonders or Heroes which is usually a fairly solid color background with a bunch of little things that tend to just make the scen
I HAVE BEEN CHOOSEN BY THE BIG METAL HAND IN THE SKY! but seriously, I am interested in seeing how in game NPCs react to soveriegns. I mean, like in Heroes of Might and Magic, a few campaigns had people talking to *you*, often this suggested that the person was talking to a present hero, but sometimes it was a little vague. In a game like this you are obviously a person, and would a random dude in the woods give you a quest in the non-chelance way th
He is Kryo! Faster than a speeding flame, able to leap entire forums in a single bound... it's Supermod!
if you say his name 3 times he appears. Maybe not right away, and IRC you have to see his name over in the list of people in the room. but it works!sometimes you can even misspell it "kyro"
I like the bear spraying white struff from the object he now holds between his legs. *THUMBS UP!*
For some reason the many races (and there were many) of MoM is never the 1st thing that cames to mind when I think of MoM. Likely this is because I never played any but a few races that were able to get most or all of the building tech-tree (I'm not sure what to call it) and my wizard choices were only human +1 dragon and 1 mysterious figure. The heroes were pretty much all human, except like 1 orc and a few mystery beings. No to mention they cheated a bit (high men, barb
Wintersong created 2 for me as well. I'm currently wearing the 1st one, I'm going to put this one other up when the beta comes out next month. I AM the self-proclaimed troll of this forum (and I'll fight anybody for the position) <img src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Utaku_Areka/Elemental/oficialtroll2.png"
yeah, I believe its been directly stated somewhere that players will be able to influence the world in the ways you speak. I'm interested in seeing if players will be able to influence the theme. Things like, influencing the goal of quests as to lean in the direction players want the game to go. I guess the idea being that more than on setting scheme being balanced. I don't know, its early and I'm kinda rambling. But its still a more back-
With people watching for updates based on the alpha, it makes sense that more people stuck their head into the forums, even if they did not post anything, just to see if their pre-orders resulted in an alpha invite.
high-quality animations significantly prolong the longevity of any game Hortz, I think you're trumpeting gfx and animation to the wrong crowd. If we make Elemental correctly, it should be a fun playing ONLY on the cloth map (tactical mode), where core gfx are removed and the only animation is the pewter peices sliding around the world. I think its because the new development plan is still pending. so nobody wants to post something that might not be true.
On the topic of the good-evil system itself, i don't think you should be forced down a certain path in the game but rather you should be able to be neutral, but over time the benefits of choosing a side becomes irresistable.I just don't like the idea of starting out in the world and saying "I have to be evil because its what I am". I would prefer a "I have to be evil to use X artifact, or train X monster" etc.
I don't think its going to force anybody. The whole e
yeah, EVERYBODY who has pre-ordered now (or by the begining of september) will be in the beta. There will also be a window of time that the beta has just started and new people can enter it before it closes. After it closes, any new pre-orders will have to wait until the next major beta stage for it to open again (maybe not beta 2, could just be beta 1B, but we'll see)
