I work in a state hospital for the mentally ill, inpatient adults. I use to work on a ward for hard to place male patients with a history of violence and sexual inappropriateness. Now I sit behind a desk and get fat, but it's nice to not get punched in the face, stabbed, or bitten on a regular basis. But I do miss my guys at times... I really shouldn't make that kind of joke...considering I work in mental health. But I'm a bastard. I'm far more active here than most forums and my personality really shines here...I'm sure everyone is glad about that. EDIT: I
I have experienced this for months now. My reporting skillz suck =\ Thanks for reporting it!
I see the metal and gold mines has been satisfactorily answeredm but I wanted to expand on the mana issue. Yes, the best early way to get mana generating is to research the magic tech and get shard harvesting, then further down the tree, the other tech that makes them greater shards. But one thing I found very useful is that trait, when custom creating my sovereign, that gives you 2 mana per turn. To me, that represents two more spells that you

Just ignore some of these guys and make a separate thread to argue over things that ultimately don't matter at all, your opinions that is. I would like to know more about time frames for these projects and the division of labor.
Sounds good. I love Elemental, even in its current stat

I am getting a periodic memory error wh
Regarding blink, I would think if you made it a random teleport within a 4 square radius (not diameter), that would add a risk/reward concept to it, and basically make it a last resort. Edit: Noticed someone had same idea earlier. Kudos. As for the patch, I am curious, can we go backward in versions without reinstalling?
To Brad...and his famous dev. tem where is add-on for Elemental...one that we were promised 3 months ago. Obviously you can not keep promise...elemental is big failure in every way. Try something else...but dont make games anymore...no point in that. In another, normal company, would get fired long ago...for the damage done to the company. Enjoy while you can.
I approve as well. ...just sayin'...
" 44. When casting a targeted spell on an army (such as imbue champion on a stack with more than one valid target) a dialog is presented to allow the player to pick the unit he wants." YEEESSSS!!!!!! I have to agree changing Janusk in some fashion. Eunuch is a fine option!
Talking about experience, I think that is not good for the game that all the units of the same group get all the experience after a battle, regardless they haven´t any hit. Yes, it is possible to learn something only watching, but it wouldn´t must be the same that the experience obtained by fighting. I hope that Stardock review this system because it would be very easy to assign exp according to the hits, that are already be
I generally go for the kingdom building part of the game, so I'll start by having my capital grow through huts and studies, and getting tech % increase at each city level. I like to go Civilization to increase economy and houses and then I go Adventure for more food techs. I know you're asking about battle techniques, so after all that, I go military (or military earlier depending on how aggressive the AI is). Priorities are
I chuckle at the assumption that Brad didn't play the game before release. I think the deeper people are into any project, the more they tend to overlook smaller details because of such a broad, but deep amount of knowledge. I had a friend once that was in a stoner band with a few of his other freinds. They practiced, they wrote their own music, they went to the recording studio and put it on a CD...they worked their arses off!! In fact, they lived it. How ca
Hmm, such a diverse way of playing by everyone. That is a great thing for a strategy game. Now if only it felt necessary to win. I like some of these ideas. I think I especially need to use a hero to teleport around and protect my caravans. I ended up just not employing caravans because monsters scrog them too often. My money seems to come from taxes/population, as well as teching the gold buildings. I can see the each hero as a one man army w
haha, guess I am complicating things too much for such a dumb AI? I will incorporate that though, funny enough
Oooh....campaign? That explains it. I haven't ever actually started the campaign...
I am a strange breed here, as I have had this game since release, didn't play it much at the beginning, started playing during the beta leading up to version 1.1, and finally have hit it hard. What is strange about me is that my strategy has developed very slowly over time, through experience of this game, and really, with almost no influence from the boards here, nor from any outside game. Not sure why, but neither Civ, nor HoMM, nor any other game works like this one. I di
Hmm, And Relias is your sovereign? Yikes, that's nasty then.
Select your caster (you start the game with only your sovereign as a spell caster). In his menu of commands, you should see cast spell. Click it. Your spell book opens up. Select the spell, press the "cast" button and then you will see a square reticule that is colored red if you can't cast on that square/target, and green if you can cast on it/him. Be sure to move Janusk out from the army stack before you cast on him.
All your golems are belong to us!
A little on the makeup of an army. I am sure there are many, many ways to build your heroes, but I have run into some interesting options. First of all, the tank and turn drainer: this hero is built around wearing as much armor as they can find, high constitution for hit points, high dexterity for dodge, and....a dagger and shield. Why? The shield is extra defense (no kidding, got a 5 DEF shield as a quest reward once). but more importantly, the knife giv

I just seem to get to a point where I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing or what I'm supposed to do next. Like there are always options to build multiples of different types of buildings, huts, inns, workshops etc and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to keep building them until I run out of ro
