I wonder what the piece of dialog in the image refers to ;)
I have to agree with Nerhesi. There is a difference between removing things from a game that add very few fun and complicate things too much and removing things that really make a difference. Removing your sovereign from the board removes a very special feature and the benefit is far less than what is lost. The solution achieved in LH was pretty decent and I don't see why SK cannot have the same rules regarding your sovereign (and no, "differentiating SK from LH" is not a
I also wish population was a bit more meaningful. Seems odd that a city is producing the same with 30 population than with 3,000.
Looks great! I am a bit busy with RL at the moment but will try to make some room for it.
Halmal, Thanks so so so so much! I can't really express how grateful I am for your help. Right now I am a bit busy, but I will most certainly come back to work in this mod in one or two weeks, and will use your code. Thanks again! At least I learned some things while trying to implement the food upkeep without specialists, and those things can also be useful in the future. Sir, you are a [e digicons]:star:[/e]
Thanks Oliver! Will try this mod out (but nevertheless hope it finaly inspires Upstream as a proof of concept). Is it possible to have such a mod for city level up as well?
Hello Puntarenas. Thanks for your words :) About your question, do you mean to delay the city level up until the time you wish to do so?
Hello GFireflyE. Sorry for taking some time in answering. I have not tested it in 1.0, because I decided to wait until the game becomes stable to continue my modding, but it should work in 1.0 because the part of the game engine used has not changed (at least that I know). About the pop up, yes, you get a pop up informing you that you have a champion available to recruit.
Quoting sweatyboatman, reply 6 Kamamura is quickly taking on the mantle of our local troll. It is quite unfair to call me a troll, just because I resist the crowd mentality of local fanboism. I argued all my points clearly and logically. You, on the other hand, have started to resort to ad hominem attacks. Please stop it, not liking the game is legitimate, and presenting such opinion in well-argumented manner shou
Definitely if scripts could be used that would open a world of almost limitless possibilities!
He only has a couple of good points, and honestly those are minor issues in my opinion. LH is clearly the better game.
I tend to agree with Kamamura_CZ . But I suppose that means I am wrong and have no criteria.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 3 I wouldn't say it's a "new" game as opposed to simply the next in the series. Sequels and expansions are pretty common. If LH is successful we hope to make another game in the dowries in the future. Not to be harsh, but imho, the jump from FE to LH wasn't significant enough to warrant $20. Maybe its because there wasn't enough brand new content ad
Derek if you have not already done so please put parrottmaths name in the games credits as i for one can think that he deserves it considering all of the help that he has provided and while you're at it if you have a LH game poster you should have everyone sign it and send it to him as well
[e digicons]k1[/e]
HOMM3? Those are big words! Congratulations! Now, if only you could go for that extra point, it wold be AWESOME ;)
Do we get a v0.99 before release?
12:01am on release day is when I expect to see it. Any later is unacceptable. It completely ruins the game for me otherwise.
Those guys at Stardock are not serious! Now they will release at 23:59:59 and claim "It's still release day" [e digicons][/e]
I wish the game much success in the future. The PC games market has needed a decent non-MMO game of this type for a long time.
That's exactly my feeling. Despite I have been critic with some design choices made in the expansion, I do believe this is one of the best games of the last times, not only in the PC world, and not only in the strategy/fantsy/RPG world. Best of luck and lots of success!
After reading several threads in this forum for some time I have come to the conclusion that the main problem with Elemental is one of unfulfilled expectations and/ or expectations management. Think about many successful games in the recent (and not so recent) history like for example Galciv 2. What do we have there? A very good (but not perfect) game that was not expected to be a blockbuster and that pleasantly surprised everybody due to its great quality and entertainment vaue. With
That sounds interesting, but I would not start them at 0. Each nation would start at a place other than 0. Just like in EU Russia has the land/naval slider biased to land or Catholic nations have more protectionist sliders. For example Resoln would have less quality troops in an hypothetical quantity vs quality slider. Which sliders would you include? Because there are virtually thousands of possible ones. Which ones would make sense in your opinion?
i am sad when luck of design, and polish is confirmed this way: "it was not in the focus" If it was not in the focus why we got: -self designed units, -so many armor and weapon types - trait tree for the heroes.
So they can be removed in future expansions ;)
Ugh. Eador was easily the most disappointing game I've played in the last year. It is so shallow and clunky. It's one of the few times I would say that someone who likes that game would probably not like LH or vice versa.
Shallow? It has many many features, a very detailed but not complex gameplay mechanic and four heroes classes which play very different from each other. Among many more things. I think the best about Eado
For instance, Master of Magic, Age of Wonders 2 and Shadow Magic, and Dominons 3 were nowhere near balanced, in the sense there were overpowered strategies everywhere, and hardly challenges for players who are out to win. The systems, especially magic as a system, seem incredibly difficult to balance. The sheer complexity of such games makes Stardock's fair AI approach (it is fair
And I'd like to add: Thanks God
Quoting brass1983, reply 30 I think playing any 4x game to win is doing it wrong. Personally i like to roleplay a bit, really get into the story I'm creating within the game. I tend to quickly lose interest if the story gets boring and i'm steamrolling all my opponents. I play lots of games, and the ones where "playing to win" is the only real option get played once and quickly forgotten Games th
Quoting tjashen, reply 4 If Elemental encouraged cooperative victories more, that'd be something I'd take advantage of more. Especially in a 'World Gone Mad, Unite Against The Monster Hordes' kinda setting, where allying and aiding in the defense of at least one other Kingdom/Empire would be a strong necessity. Sure, you could still have some uppity opponents to deal with, but the main goal would be to bring t
