Disclaimer: I had not played 2009 version. So far I am impressed. I feel it's easy-version (or you can say negatively, dumbed-down version) of Simcity series. While I miss encountering RCI zoning nightmare and other detailed stuffs which are missing from this game, it has plenty of basics of city builder. Graphics are fine while optimization may need some work (but it is perfectly acceptable.) How's anyone else's thought?
No, I don't want Civ-clone as well. Already enough with Civ IV.
It's true. I mean, it has to be true, otherwise there will be no other proper explanation that why most of AAA titles sucking hard these days. (Half joking half seriousness here) I am more interested in impending failure of SOR MMORPG. Hmm, 300 million dollars... That's for three times of GTA IV budget. I just began to wonder if EA indeed spent 300 millions on it, how would they cover this if the game fails (which, based on EA's performance alone,
....is NOT bugs/glitches on Singleplayer (for console's case), no private match option (for consoles again), not-working server browser (for PC), crappy hit registration and so many things on UI that gone completely wrong and lame.... (well, above problems already made this game garbage as I wrote on previous thread, but..) It's lack of contents. Simply, there aren't enough maps and weapons to toy with. There are only 8 maps
And OP's wish just came true... https://www.stardock.com/about/newsitem.asp?id=2056
Holy crap, this is prime example of "garbage". And they are charging 60$ for this. Only saving grace is that they actually managed to optimize their game engine (smoother gameplay than BFBC2), but otherwise if you are buying this game, you are buying it for singleplayer. No need of asking questions, just download it now and play yourself how bad this game is.
??? How? via e-mail?
I have Civ 5, and currently I can't play because for some reason, the game crashes at exactly 15 min mark. But like Elemenetal, it will be patched thus I am waiting.
Are you kidding? Squad power isn't additive: each member of the squad checks versus armor independently (which is a good thing!). Summons are much, much more powerful than even late game squads.
At least based on my limited understanding on xml files (tweaking, modding stuffs while waiting for new patches) I believe it is addictive (I mean, both ATK and health is addictive, then why armor shouldn't anyway?)
Do you guys ever research squad? Summons are really weak; ATK of squad with mace is like 40+, and with better weapons it is over 100+. And this is for 4 men squad number. There is no way summon can compete with any well-made non-summon unit.
I think this is bugged. Any of these levelmilestone do not work at all. By looking files, it seems Stardock just abandoned this thing, thus making some serious balance problems.
ALL summons are wayyy too weak anwyways....
To be honest, magic in general is just way too weak to be bothered in the first place (except in very early stage of the game), summoning spells in general are quite useless at the time your city hit level 3 and began to make squads. I already completely skip the magic part in this game (and very successful). With further nerfs, it is just as well as eliminating magic completely and removing subtitle "War of Magic" from the game. :P
That picture above.... unless they are really low-end troops (i.e no such fancy full armour troops), unkeep cost of such side of troops will exceed 50+.
Quoting wnmnkh, reply 116... At least for me, initial release of Elemental was very solid. Maybe crashed after 30 min or so, which is perfectly acceptable compared to other lame releases from those so called AAA titles. And after day 0 patch, I heve not experienced a single crash yet. You just can't blame Stardock because they don't have enough money to bribe many review sites to create hype. I think you are
Quoting wnmnkh, reply 116 Go ahead and play BFBC2 and tell me if it is *sigh* playable..... ..... You just can't blame Stardock because they don't have enough money to bribe many review sites to create hype. BFBC2 is playable now, but true, when it came out the crappy server browser didn't work properly, most of the rest of the game worked fine for me. one need a decent machine to play it though. <br
Both points are wrong. This is just ridiculous (or are you just ironic?). no more text here.
Go ahead and play BFBC2 and tell me if it is *sigh* playable. How about ACII and SH5 from Ubisoft? Modern warfare 2? how about very recent offering from Team 17 "Worms Reloaded"?, I still can't play because of some files/programs missing.
If you guys think Stardock deserves such criticism compared to other recent releases, either 1.) You have not played any of so called 'AAA' titles from major publishers. 2.) Not even bought/played game, just based on so called 'reviews'. elemental is the most bug-free game I've ever played since 2006.
