Keep up the good work! As another mentioned, I would have no problem waiting for a random map. The map generator you mentioned in the past could run independantly. Just make a few maps while the coffee is on and come back later and enjoy.

I like the idea, mainly having shards open access to new spells, and also adding a modifier to related spells. Fireball is x1.25 with a fire shard or something. More shards would open up spells that require the number you have available or you could even dump some essence into a shard to enhance its power to the equivalent of the extra shards you need. That way if Mr/Mrs Air Wizard is unable to fi
I was able to play one game for a while with a custom Sov. Things were going along fine with building and exploring then i had some random crash after I encountered my first 'neighbor' After that crash I am unable to build anything in a city without the game freezing up or CTD. I have started games with s Sov and just explored fine for quite a while, but when I plop down a city anything I build freezes or CTD.
Nice job! can't wait! Have a nice long weekend, you guys deserve it :)
When we acquire the ability to create different groups of units (party, squad, pack, company, army, legion...) it would be awesome to have a procedure to regroup the misc odd units into a group together. The group would be limited by our current max group size. And being able to do this with whatever mismatched units are kicking around would be nice too. Perhaps selecting the units you want to group and hit control-G or something like that.
Current Essence = max mana. This is terrible. I agree here, your mana could become something like your wisdom + level, even for more combat oriented Sov's you could have enough to fire of a stat, armor or atk buff, or maybe a dispel or debuff to even things up before you put the knuckles to em. For me current essence = fun p
How can one build up a City enough to be useful without the Civ Tree? And has anyone else had your SoV die, then get the "Defeated" screen, but still had 2 active Cities????
I had this happen once. I think i had 3 cities at the time. My army of peasants to be a meatshield for my magic!
Sounds like a good time! Grokk enters the pub, bellies up to the bar and orders a a freshly tapped lemonaid, a frothy one at that! Is so pleased with his bartender ESRB that he leaves a whole gildar tip! Oh and he belches loudly!
I like the direction things are going, some comments I have: Leveling : I think the Sov should get 1 essence point and 1 other point to spend when leveling, t he champions are fine with 1 point. That would differentiate between the two, and give the sov enough essence to build some towns and still use magic and/ or imbibe your champions somewhat. Resources: I a gree
after a few turns I can reliably crash the game by mousing over the Domestic info button in the upper right of the screen. has only happened for the domestic tips. (they look like a shield) Having problems with pastebin, so i appologize for the following: DebugMessage: Version 0.803 last updated on: Wed Jun 16 11:49:24 2010 DebugMessage: Entering WinMain DebugMessage
I notice the desertion effect also, but have been busy so I havent reexamined it. The first unit that deserted me was a frigate, lol. Like you I started taking some cities at the approximate time of desertions. In regards to beta 2-a, cant wait to check it out! Could Ale, mulled wine, mead or the like be added to the store? After desertions or your companies getting crushed by a large geko it feels good to go thr
I asked about hot seat a while ago. They are not releasing it with hotseat but said likely in a future update. Being able to do a home lan thing, like tridus said would be nice though.
I also agree that pioneering should get a boost to bring the value to an equal level with town production. Another way to do that might be to give the technology Logistics or Caravans the effect of boosting pioneered resources from 50% to 100%. Both of those techs suggest you have the logistical capacity to get the resources to town. Or maybe each one adds 25% more so that by researching both you hit the 100%
I've had this too, but if i zoom all the way out and back in it seems to reset them.
If each stage of your city automatically contained enough space/housing for the populace, you could control its growth with food storage and prestige buildings. (I believe prestige effects the population increase per turn.) That way you could keep some towns smaller if you desire. and focus your available food resources on your main city or two.
I created two companies of troops (10 units in each company) grouped them with some champions and fought a bone ogre. After the fight my companies had 5 troops each. When I went to make another company the company size was reduced to 5 troops, so making a party of 6 at that point was better. Should there be a way to resupply a group of troops to get it back to its original size? I saved the game at that point but am not sure where I would send it to.

Alot of good discussion here. Combat Speed . Some have commented on combat speed and movement being tied together, but the beta had stats for both movement and combat speed. Hopefully those will be utilized in the future version. My wish would be for item based stats to have greater emphasis, and possibly validate a greater range of viable troop types. <span style="color: #888
I like where Demiansky is going, but I think i would double the turns or more. I too think Cities/settlements should be a special endeavor. But not too special ( : Maybe one-of buildings, or certain types of buildings that would demand a very large radious, could help aleviate this.
Cheers! Now I can enjoy not having fun even more!
A slider or a fixed % could work, it would have to be tested. I thought of some variations similar to what you guys mentioned. Maybe even something accessed through Adventuring tech. If the player has some control then that also adds a little unknown quantity to how thier kingdom will perform.
The current method of leveling up your Sov is to lead your army and battle for experience. I think it would be good if your Sov spilt the experience that champion led armies generate with said champion(s). After all everything they do is on behalf of the Sov & kingdom. Sharing in the experience generated by champions would allow Sauron type leaders to maintain a vigilant homebase, pursuing magical fineries, and still grow in strength in relation to how the force
harbor & fisheries can be built in any square once the town is of the correct level. if archery range allows missle troops to be built, we shouldnt need more than one of these buildings in a given town.
http://pastebin.com/drPeZmKQ game froze as I found a potion. That same turn, a unit on explore was killed by an ogre. My sov also had a champion whith her(one of her sons)
When leveling up the soveriegn, the field for health regen shows zero, but doesnt change when you put points into it.
