the biggest annoyance for outposts is the sheer production cost. 500+ production for a consulate that only gives +1 growth? Very poor balance for production->benefit.
True, but then again you can build a lot of outposts connected to a city... this might have been a way to mitigate this obvious abuse of power. The cost so high as to prohibit the abuse, but not so high to prevent players from using it... not
Going by LH, mancer race gets +1 accuracy per level and +1 movement. No mention of any bonus to merchant stuff. Also, no default sov has mancer race. Also, no ingame mention of the road-building skill anywhere I can find (did I miss it?) -- in Heir... or race description or the like. So we'll have to agree to disagree on this
I never said that the mancer (capitar) race got any bonus to being a merchant, just that they were
Double clicking the name in the sovereign creation screen will highlight the entire textbox. If you don't type anything but click somewhere else or do something else the highlight remains, leaving you unable to see what name is there presently. It should remove the highlight when you click somewhere else on the screen or do other things on the creation screen.
That's not a design decision (hey, we could make logical routes but let's make them wonky because it's merchants not sovs that design them!), it's merely a way to excuse/justify current implementation (it's too hard to make decent AI routing so let's pretend it's merchants not sovs building roads).
I would say that it is more of a design desicion. Look at the only race that gets to build a road (
I definitely would like the ability to buy / sell maps and a scry spell would be a good addition to the spells.
I can't say anything about the crashing and bugginess of FE since I never had any stability issues. Is the current version of FE still crashing and buggy for you at the moment. I noticed with the latest version of FE that the game ran smoother and quicker at least for me. Thus, when I went to LH I noticed that the performance was better for me. The looks changed although the style is the same, the look is different and there are minor tweaks everywhere that makes the game nice to look at,
Maybe one should have the cut off the messangers head option... ;) After you do that a couple of times, maybe they will get the point.
One of the major problems with wealth is the idea of what is wealth. For example, would you pay for manure? There are those that need that material, and it is wealth. The idea of wealth distribution that people refer is that everybody wants a particular item, how do you distribute this item to everyone in a fair and impartial way. Oddly enough there is a lot of mathematics here that has already demonstrated that it is impossible to distribute things fairly amongst other people. Thus,
You can spend fame and get less fame if you train henchmen.
I know, but it still seems odd. Another way of accomplishing this is to put it at you can only have a certain number of henchmen at a particular fame level. You can only have 1 henchman at 50 fame. Fame doesn't go away when you train the henchman, but you also don't get to train any more than 1. At 100 fame you can train 2 henchmen. If one dies, then you c
Hah, that makes sense. Mine are 17 months and "newcar smell."
Yeah. At that age they are pretty dependant on someone, and there you spend lots of time with them... so fun, but that "newcar smell" can be something else at times ;) LH has a lot of good improvements. From following all the forums it looks like LH did a lot of suggestions that people have had for FE and put them together to make a very interesting and fun game.
I would have to suggest that we not use fame as a resource. I cannot spend fame and get less fame. It sounds as if people want to do anti-propoganda to themselves. To satisfy some needs, maybe there should be a third option of not choosing a hero, the ability to decline both of the heroes. Shopping for heroes seems rather gamey to me.
Found a burning undead guy (cindercorpse)... figured he should be at least resistant to fire (if not immune).
On a side note to this if you press the number keys at the top like 1, 2, 3 it will set different default viewing points to play the game. Might find one you like and put your camera to a default position to your liking.
I feel like there's already an effect in-game that most people here would probably agree with. Take the tactic spell Earthquake, "Destroys random city improvements, resets the production queue, and halves the population of targeted city," and swap it to a monster-raiding-effect. In my opinion, most people probably wouldn't use the 300 mana cost of the spell to cast on an enemy city when it can be conquered for much less mana. So,

Most of the other coupons you suggested I already do without the coupon. [1] 5 free back rub...for at most 1 hour. [2] 5 free foot rub... for at least 1 hour. [3] 1 free coupon to clean the house without your help. [4] 1 free song for me to sing you (your choice). [5] 1 free coupon to watch the kids all night.
It rarely happens to me, but I would just like a different mechanic and a event based mechanic is something that would add another layer of uniqueness to this game. Roving monsters destroy city and spawn a quest in the process... Like SMAUG the terrible destroying a city and then occupying it, where you gather a team of 15 to remove SMAUG from your city and reclaim it for your own... I can enjoy an epic quest as such.
Alright, I've used up every excuse on the board here... one completely failed, good thing I'm not a bachelor for life. The top two were ElanaAhova the coupon book and Heavenfalls hobby analogy. But the thing that really work, was asking, "if I could get the game," (I have such a loving wife). Thanks for all the great excuses, now I can port over all of my mods over when the game is done, and I of course have new ideas. Oh, @ElanaAhova... now I ha
I always looked at the roads as being neither your empire or their empires road, but more or less the merchants roads. One doesn't have direct control over these roads and where they are built. But in the same vein of thought these roads need to make sense and we should be able to commission roads to be built. These roads that we build should have the requirement that they stay within your OWN territory, but the other roads generated by the merchants can go where they feel.
That was the problem I was having with it earlier. I had no problem making buildings before and setting particular properties with these buildings. I do think that the empty lot has some special internal commands that we don't know about (specifically around the art definitions).
The mancer trait is nice, but I really think for the non-standard races that they didn't polish them as nice as the others. I truly think that some more work on these races are in order. The other standard races feel pretty well made, I'd like to see these other races moved to the same standard.
