I doubt they'll post a list at all. When it comes out, if you get charged and suddenly see it in Impulse, you were chosen/won the lottery.

Wasn't combat described as "continuous turn-based"? Still don't really know what that means, but I don't think its going to play like an RTS.
I don't understand the bit about a scientific view. Healing can very easily be used for cruelty and evil. It allows you to torture someone to the brink of death, heal them, torture them to the brink of death, heal them, etc. There was even a Stargate episode where Ba'al did just that to Jack. On the topic of Stargate, the sarcophagi can heal any wound and even bring back the dead but they strip away part of the soul every time they're use
Sometimes these restrictions are in place for a reason. While something like a talking bear or a dragon could be any alignment, a cuddily friendly Demon Lord simply doesn't make sense. The evilness of the thing is part of what makes it a Demon Lord. The best example is probably a Paladin. An evil Paladin is an oxymoron, there is no such thing. "Good" is part of what makes a Paladin what it is. An evil one is something else (Blackguard, Death Knight, big guy with a big stick, etc).

They should be set on a goals like HOMM quest map except extend it to he who discovers the burial site of the item first WINS! and/or casting the spell of mastery after finding the map quest scroll that would allow it. Goals like these help prevent turtling as characters will have to get out there and find these things. Turtling is lame and a chickens strategy.
As usual
I guess the next question then is if you make a mod that only has one piece of art for the thing in question, will it try to show that thing all the time? How many scaled levels are required?
I do not see why you would have to park him to keep him safe. You will send thousands of troops and countless heroes in combat, it does not mean theyc will all die. When I played MOM I had heroes from the begining to the end game without him ever dying. That's where the part STRATEGY comes in in a Strategy game. Use him or her WISELY. Some battles are worth the risk. I find it funny when I read some commetns that say he will have to
Does this mean that the final product will also be ready later? It was 2-2010 with the first beta in 7-2009. Now this beta is 2 months later....
There was a post somewhere that said they had a second release window planned in August 2010, if they fell behind from the first schedule. Back then they were ahead of schedule, but that was before Demigod.

If I have just killed the ennemy Channeler, the most powerful char on the otherside, how could a simple village or town endure my opposition?
Well, they can't. I think thats part of the point of the thread. Having a channeler die in normal combat is game over, either instantly, or because you're cripple
Presumably if there's some "extreme edition" we'd be able to modify our pre-orders for it?
So would you say that the underlying technologies, the engine and so forth are complete at this point, or do you expect they will continue to be "tinkered" with during the remainder of the development cycle?
Today's twitter updates have been about getting units hooked up to receive messages and do what the player tells them to. Based on that, I'd speculate that the underlying tech isn't totally done yet, though it is far enough
Does "ate lunch while sitting on a nice bearskin rug" count? [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]
Not to mention that when you're sitting at a bus stop on the way to work, a .pdf isn't all that practical.

Otherwise the shipping costs (to europe) will be > (or almost) than the book price....
Yeah, good idea. Shipping stuff from the US to outside the US is painfully expensive these days. (Although if by "retail" you mean book stores and it'll be available outside the US, that may be okay too.)
Whenever something becomes the new fad amongst the social networking crowd and the media, it draws immediate backlash from the more tech savvy people. Twitter is a particular target because its commonly used by emo kids who speak the language formerly known as English. What you're seeing is a lot of that. Give it about two days and people wi

Even the Demigod channel gets more Elemental information than the Elemental channel does, and now this twitter thingomabobs? Hogwash!
That was already answered in this very thread. It tends to suck Boogie in and create conversations, which distracts from actually working on Elemetal. Taking 45 seconds to write a Twitter post doesn't have the sa
This is a pretty significant change in direction from the original plan, when MP wouldn't show up until beta 2. Gotta say, I think its a great change. Even if MP isn't the focus, having it in there earlier will give a lot more time to get different modes tested. [e digicons][/e]
I hate Twitter, and I hate Facebook. I just don't want to be a part of it.....
You don't have to be. You don't have to join twitter to read it. Hell, if you use the RSS feed, you don't even have to visit twitter to read it. I understand twitter hate, but Stardock's goal here is just to have an easy way to provide updates. That means more updates, which is something people have been begging for.
Know where is a better place then Twitter to write small one line updates? irc.stardock.com #elemental
Not for people who can't sit in IRC all day to watch for them.
There's an RSS feed linked on the page , so you could use that and never actually have to go to Twitter itself. It's probably a good idea for this sort of short post, a dev journal would be overkill for updates about load times. :)
Care to elaborate a bit on this? I've played GC2 for years with the game music turned off and my own playlists running in (ahem, grumble-grumble) iTunes. Personally, I'd say we need the ability to import XML playlists into the game and have the game play those local files directly. But the only reason I'd like that is that I want to my play-count and last-played metadata to *exclude* what I play when I'm also playing a game.<br /
It's possible we won't see anything else in terms of updates until the alpha is out. At that point Frogboy can take a couple weeks off from posting, anybody among the regulars here who gets in will be flooding the place with information faster then you can say "sick day!" ;)
This has nothing to do with a "variety of outlooks", and everything to do with him being a pompous jackass that doesn't really discuss anything. He comes in, insults everybody, and thats about it. Does he even have an outlook other then "lol ur all carebears"?
