The decision to not make tactical battles at least an option in multiplayer will keep me from purchasing the two additional copies I was intending. I fail to see how having the option would cause people to flame. In this case, we are being restricted with no recourse.

See the pics. The save is attached and is reproduce able (may have to zoom in all the way and back out). http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/635/screenshot2007201018500.jpg http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/6024/screenshot2007201018502.jpg Save: <a href="htt

If you are defeated by the brigands at the Silver Flute quest destination, you are still awarded the Silver Flute and the dialog appears. This is clearing not supposed to happen. If anymore is needed, let me know (very straight forward issue).

"Random Maps" aren't random in the traditional sense. The random map generator takes hundreds of pre-built map sections and pieces them together to create a random world. However, in beta right now there aren't all that many of these pre-built pieces which means you may see similar maps if you play enough.

[quote who="Butterknife" reply="4" id="2681434"]It isn't any fun to make a sovereign with fire magic and not be able to find a fire shard. Let's say you make a sovereign with all types of magic but fire, and then you only find fire shards -- again, no fun at all. You are better off making a sovereign without any magic schools at that point, or spending all your points to get every school of magic. Neither provides a great deal of flexibility in sovereign design. I

I like the idea of not knowing which shards you will have at the beginning of the game. The last thing I want is a typical TBS game where doing "ABC" will give you "XYZ" only to find out that "ABC" isn't as good as "ABD" and that you're the only noob that doesn't know that. I think the game should be decided based on who is able to cope with their situations better, now who knows the best string of actions to execute.

+1! The reason I loved starcraft wasn't because it was a great rts. It was because I actually cared about my space marines. I sheltered those with high kill counts and wanted to see them progress. I would almost shed a tear when one of my 100+ kill marines would fall to a mistake I made.

You can, when designing your faction. However, since Custom Factions are not yet available in Beta2, you will have to wait.

1. This is normal at this stage. Once the next update comes out (monday I think) you should start reporting these crashes with the Debug.err file. 2. That "Question Mark" is the help system, it just isn't officially implemented yet, it will be fully fleshed out as the beta goes on. 3. The ground, along with many other textures, are dumbed down for the beta. Frogboy (CEO) said this would remain this way until the Retail release. He wants to hol

When two units are moved to the same tile, but are not explicitly told to merge (right-clicking one unit onto the other), then they both exist in the tile, but they aren't grouped. I haven't found a way to "merge" them into a single group without moving one out of that tile right-clicking the other unit. Maybe there is something I'm missing. My suggestion is to add a Merge button where the mini-circles show for party members

Overall unit movement in a 1v1AI match I just created is completely fubar'd. Sometimes the unit doesn't move where I tell it to, and sometimes it doesn't appear to move at all. For the units that don't appear to move at all, if I tell them to move in a subsequent turn, they seem to move from that original destination (the one that they should have gone to in the first place). I'm not really sure what more I can provide. I didn't have to open up any por
