Thanks, my friends I got it all downloaded. I'll give it a go later this evening some time most likely. As for the Wiki, thanks Bill. I'll take a look at it too....after I try the game a few times on my own first. There hasn't been a game made I couldn't figure out on my own before needing to turn to a instruction manual or Wiki. If for some reason I can't figure it out though I'll have to go check the Wiki.
</p

And as I'd advise to any new player: Read the Wiki ! Seriously, you'll never get anywhere if you don't.
I propose that if the Beta is not released by 3:41:48 PM (central) today, we sacrifice a Dwarf named Frogboy each year until it is.
Sure, but someone else (Whoever's next), has to change it ingame.
Well, I know you get used ot the ASCII eventually, I started with it.[e digicons]:D[/e] But some people just need tilesets. I'd rather have them playing with a tileset than not playing at all. Oh, and I don't have an ASCII still in any of my screenies, just the stonesense one. Edit: Red X of doom! You have this as your url: https://forums.elementalgame.com/3
Well, stonesense is a visualiser, it attaches to the Dwarf Fortress process and dispays the 3d isometric view, but you can't play through it. But there are tilesets, which are easier to understand than the ASCII. Someone linked to Mayday's gfx set earlier in the thread, you can check that out. It is pretty hard to figure out what things are with the ASCII when starting out though, I have to agree.
Sorry, I already claimed him when mine died, I should go edit that post, and I'm done so the next person will have to name you one.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I also assigned a bookeeper, broker, and manager, and they do have offices. Edit: Wow, look at all the fixes Toady has in store for .07!
Does multiplayer have hot seat? Because if not, you can be expected to be bugged about this continuosly after release.
I echo these sentiments.

I'm not an amazing writer, so don't expect much. WARNING: LOTS OF IMAGES, 20 of them! Boatmudered . That is all.
Well, I wake up in the morning and still no Beta.[e digicons]XO[/e] Ah, well, it'll gimmie time to finish this up. Well, it does take quite a while to get good at DF, the video tutorial is 30 videos long, and just covers the basics . If you want to decent, use the wiki (I still do[e digicons];)[/e] ), and read Bay12's forums, quite a lot of good stuff there. Too bad no Tormy, I
You should check the game out Raven. It's one of the best & most diverse games, even tho it's not for everyone. [ASCII "gfx" + bad interface]
Well, you can use tilesets, I think 16x16 is the most common size. But, really, Raven, you should try it out, with your love of complexity I think you'd like it. If you don't believe me, at least check out its TvTropes page, and google Boatmudered. It
I don't think any of us are particularly good. BTW if a invincibeast shows up, the best way to kill it is an engineered cave-in = guarenteed kill. BTW, want a dwarf? Edit: OK, I'm starting, if I messed something up, it'll be all the more Fun. Don't expect me to finish before tomorrow though.
Anyone else see anything wrong? It's kinda getting late here, and I'd rather not wait until this morning. Lol @ woodcutter, I'll send you to cut trees near enemies so you can kill them with your axe when they attack you.[e digicons]*_*[/e]
What the hell are you guys going on about up there with your Amiga graphics? Some kinda multiplayer thing? What's this? Dwarf Fortress right? That's multiplayer? Or are you doing a turn-by-mail thing?
Yep, it's Dwarf Fortress, and yes, it's a turn-by-mail type thing, it's normally a single player game. Check it out here .
I like The Anvil of Autumn, I think I'll name it that. If nobody has any complaints with the Starting Build, I'll get started then. Don't worry though, I can still change Dwarves' names.[e digicons][/e]
That's funny, I already had an unnamed Proficient Mason/Competent Weaponsmith/Adequate Mechanic. 3 names down, 5 to go. Gimmie a bit and I'll make a roster of dwarves, and starting items for people to critique. Dwarves: Bill Door, Grim Reaper DEAD Proficient Miner Novice Judge of Intent</s
One Sir Puffypants, coming right up! He'll be a fisherdwarf/early Militia.
Group name anyone? Or will I have to make that up too? And do you want a dwarf, Orvidos? Trust me, it's much funnier when people on the forums are getting brutally mudered, rather than some random dwarf.
Well, anyone want a dwarf? Just say what name you want, and a custom profession if you please. Just don't complain when you die a horrible, bloody death.[e digicons]:P[/e] Edit: Well, it won't let me choose Starfisted, would Starfist be fine? Or Starfists?
I'm aware of graphic sets, but honestly I prefer the good, old, ASCII. Of course, if anyone else want to use them, that's fine, but I'll stick to the ASCII.[e digicons]:)[/e]
