ACP 0.31 crashes every time I try to boot the game. I have maybe a 30% rate of crashing with any mod, but the latest version was 10 boots and 10 fails. Removing the mod folder fixes the problem.

A lot of the tiles here have "hard lines", like the fire and air shrines, versus other with "soft lines," like the water shrine, whose edges blend into the surrounding environment. I know this is a work in progress and some tiles aren't done yet, and it looks awesome already, but I hope you are tending toward the soft lines for everything because they look less contrived--less like they were forced into a tile-based game.

There is an option for how to save Elemental screenshots. From the start screen, hit "Options," and then under the "Gameplay" tag, in the very most lower right of that window, you can choose your format for saving Elemental screenshots. If it is not "jpg" then switch it to that. If it IS jpg but you are still getting bit maps, then that would be a mystery. As for saving screen shots from your internet browser, I imagine there may be a similar setting though wou

AutoHotKey works fine for re-binding keys, thought not mouse buttons. So if it is really that annoying just use AutoHotKeys for now and hopefully one day Stardock will let us rebinding keys (both keyboard and mouse), as well as switch mouse axes from the Options menu. Good UI control is needed to make the player get immersed and feel like their game is really "theirs." When I do a middle-wheel drag camera rotation with the cursor in the top half of the screen and the

I'll be following this. This is stuff I want to learn how to do and try out, and also something that I think would really help the game. I'll take a look at what you have there and wrack my brain to come up with some ideas. EDIT: I wanted to quickly add that that I fought the zombies twice right after I installed it, and it looked like there was a skinning problem each time. So I looked in the Mod folder, where the ACP folder is next to other mods, but the folder "Gf

Thanks, I was wondering if someone had already cracked that nut. I'll keep at it. This is unfamiliar to me where data tells you whether you can use it or not, and if you can, insists that it IS used. I'm loving the mod overall.

Alright, I have a quick question: say you are creating another race of elves--a cousin species, let's say--which I've been doing, and would like to use the same city tiles and the same clothes as are already in the community project, but there will also be some differences when it comes to overall appearance and style. Is it possible to use the same clothes and the same tiles by a race that isn't CPELF (without copy/pasting all the files, and editing each object to specify my new

The worst part is the window that comes up right in the middle of the screen is disruptive. I could bear it if if were smaller, went straight to the point, had just the sovereigns head maybe, and off to the side. All the windows that disrupt the visual field to offer minimal information, like with quests, bug me just as much.

First, you are the one in power. Second, you are paying for the treaty, probably. So why should it be "clearly" the reverse? Look at it this way: you are bearing down upon them and sucking them dry of whatever "hidden" knowledge they might have.

Sovereigns suicide when they are pretty much completely out of troops, so I only take over half their kingdom at a time, and then let them recover while I redistribute my garrisons around to my liking and get caravans going in newly conquered cities, add any buildings I need, and pick up any loot lying around. I usually don't wipe out a faction completely but just cripple it before moving on to the next one. Usually half-conquered factions will ask for peace and

I don't usually do multiplayer in games that are expected to last more than 20 minutes, but I'd like to put forth a multiplayer idea for Elemental that even I might try: within the single-player game, for close tactical match-ups, have an option to bring in a human player to play the AI side, provided both armies are large enough for a substantive experience. Here's how it could work. While playing Elemental single player you would have the option to go on standby multiplayer.&n

I'm wondering what the sense is for denser cities causing more corruption, other than an abstract mechanism to reduce city spam, and there is enough abstract mechanisms already (like caravans producing food). Refering to post #8, don't cities in real life benefit organization and oversight by bringing law and administrative functions to the outskirts of your domain? I can maybe see corrupt administrators of these towns pocketing some of the gold and resources produced by the town,

This is indeend exciting, the new person you are "bringing in" makes be a little nervous, because I really like the overall direction Elemental has been going and not sure I want to see that shaken too much so Elemental can be more like games we've seen before. But that said:
Elemental: War of Magic is, ultimately a strategy game that lives in a fantasy/RPG style world. There is so much potential there to be tapped and having suffered the knocks

Don't know if it is possible but I'd like to see quest-completion criteria other than going to a certain location or clearing a tactical battle. I'd like to see things like: Diplomacy outcomes: create a treaty with a certain faction, or forge an alliance; Crafting outcomes: build and bring a certain piece or armor or magical weaponry; Other things like researching and casting a particular spell, building a squad of a certain composition of troops, or maybe build a city with certai

I say the ability to recruit heroes, the number of heroes that can be recruited, as well as their cost, should relate to charisma. If you add in troop bonuses to battle with better charisma, it would be a very useful ability. Having charisma relate to successful marriage proposals sounds good to me. Actually all of the posts above sound like good ideas.

It says what turn it is, and that the AI is making its moves. I find it a helpful and innocuous addition. File is as a bug if it isn't working on your card.

I'd be happy with a compromise, like Resoln being able to recruit zombies, which would only require one new model, or Tarth being able to recruit wilderness creatures--which wouldn't require any new models. Stuff like that. Races just need a little spice, they don't need to be curries.

Races: yeah, when you allow the kind of freedom in development of soldiers that Elemental does, it risks homogenizing things quite a bit. It's a design decision. Maybe they can get around it by offering stronger factional bonuses to, say, particular armor and weapons choices for the different factions. Currently, they aren't very noticeable and don't affect my play much. Tech Tree: as for the spamming combat techs remarks, I completely disagree. I think is it e

With deflect I rip through 8- and 12-squads with a lone frost giant and barely break a sweat. It allows you to do a lot of damage, safe from counter attacks, and doesn't cost a lot of mana.
I am convinced. Which console should we be making games for in the future?
You know, there's something to be said for sitting back on the couch with some beer and chips on the coffee table and playing games that way. Funny thing is, shooters are MISERABLE with the dual stick controllers, after you've played a couple with the mouse and keyboard, but that is most of what there is. But turn-based strategy can be handl

[e digicons]X|[/e] j/k... I like your style. Stardock would benefit from that attitude so I wish you the best. Kermit is an apt analogy. The initial reviews, or lack thereof, and instabilities I imagine threw a wrench in the marketing, so where to go from here once the game settles, hopefully with 1.1, is anyone's guess. I still think hot female battle gear wouldn't hurt.
