It's a marketing stunt. There was a post on the forums telling investors or backers days before to disregard what happens to the site in the next few days. I better get a free game out of this. A good free game. Not that crap Tex Murphy they gave out before. - Othello

To make city expansions more strategic how about: A city with a local (withing the city limits) food source get a population bonus. With food available locally the population increases quicker. Global food remain unchanged, no bonus. or Punish a city by not having a locally grown food source with a food penalty. Slower population growth. - Othello

the disc version is unpatched. you can install it with the disc then update it via impulse and you'll have a better experience. - othello.

It comforting to see you guys take the problems head on and admit to them. Count me in the group of the game being unplayably slow after a few cities are down and some of the map is discovered. My computer is modest but should, according to recommended specs, be able to play this game much better. - Othello

I'm on a 2ghz core2duo, nvidia 8600mgt, 2 gb ram, vista 32bit. Latest drivers. The start of the game runs great, but i experience the same problem as you all once it gets rolling. Almost unplayable after a few cities are introduced. - Othello

I am still hopeful for this, even after all of the negative stuff from beta testers and other forums I posted in but I really, really, really need a 4X Fantasy game because I can only play Fall From Heaven 2 so much.
I think if Stardock developed, instead of published, Demigod I would stil

I wouldn't worry about it. And I would doubt the early reviewers. Frogboy has said they budget in updating the game for a long time, I believe over a year, after release. Elemental will be great. Frogboy seems very passionate about the game and being the CEO can make the game seem like the CEO was passionate about it. And after all, aren't all reviewers full of s*** anyway? - Othello
Othello, you have to give him your name AND character code. Without the code, he won't be able to add you to his friends. To find your code, launch SC2, log in to the main menu and hover your mouse over your portrait in the upper right corner of the screen. And yeah, most people think zerg weak because they expect them to zip around everywhere like they did in SC1. They fail to notice that if anything changed drastically betwee
After seeing what the Blizzard guys went through, I think we're pretty prepared for anything. I mean, Starcraft II, IMO, is about as perfect of a release you can get. I.e. unlimited budget, unlimited time to do exactly what they want with the result being an outstanding game. I'm not even sure how I'd improve on Starcraft 2. By contrast, I have a list a mile long on things I want to add to Elemental over the n

Hey xtropy, my SC2 name is "Jack." Currently I'm vs'ing the AI as the zerg. I very much enjoy spreading the creep around. - Othello

I have and will. I want to make mods based on Shakespeare plays, regardless of the disinterest. Although it will most likely be a quick stop after a passionate start. But I will make random tiles I hope someone will find useful. - Othello

And how do the good people at Stardock, those whose with their hard work toiled hour after hour pouring their passion into the product, feel about the upcoming release? As one involved in the beta, knowing only the neutered version available, I say, "fear only the accolades, for they will cast a long shadow at just before and after the noon hour!" - Othello

Maccilia, I never played StarCraft 1 multiplayer and am currently in the bronze division (10 wins, 20 losses give or take), if you're willing to help me out and tell me what I'm doing wrong I'd appreciate it. - Othello

...put StarCraft 2 down for awhile once Elemental's released. The mighty would have fallen as Left 4 Dead 2, Demigod [e digicons]>_>[/e] , SoaSE have. My question is what's next? Nothing for me, my computers getting old and besides some nostalgic gog.com game's it can't hack whats coming up; I've no intention to buy a new laptop soon. So, long live Elemental: War of Magic, may it be great, may it be successful, may it not get an intense graphical upgrade <span style="text-decor
