How far along with the new spell UI are you Brad, seeing all those pretty new Icons in that bland ole book makes me sad. P.S. you may also wanna tailor each 'book' a bit per side. Something nice and ornate and parchmenty for Kingdoms, and something more worn and bloodstained and skiny for Empire :P P.S.S. and by 'skiny' I mean bound in the skin of my enemies.
Too many solid and amazing games lost a lot of their meat due to "multiplayer balancing". I'd hate to see that happen here.
Yeah, I too would rather see MP being a little out of whack for a better SP experience, but some ppl live for MP soooo... can't win them all I guess.

However, there is no reason that it can't be made to work against players later(say 1.1 or 1st xpack). Diplomatic capital gives a definable value on things like reputation and fame/infamy. Forces Ceasefires, Involatile borders, Champion treason, these are things that could get bring diplomatic capital into the playe

There is always the option of later addons for alternate usage AGAINST OR FOR players. I.E. spend diplo to reduce your enemies production/food/research or boost an allies. Easy enough to also just add in FORCED trading with humans via diplotech. I.E. more or less demands weighted by spending, that would be able to force certain turnovers of units/cities/resources whether or not the 'human' behind the game agreed.

To add to that if that dragon is breathing fire, does that mean that you have started hooking up special abilities to Monsters/Champions. If so... Woot!

I mean, at the moment, if you attack somebody, that unit runs arround in that square, which is a little bit stupid for me.... also, how you will add something like a sweep attack etc... which attack more units arround? Would not be better to have smaller squares, where bigger units take more squares, like 4 for dragon and one for normal army et
In my opinion, people should be concerned about diplomacy being too powerful, not too weak. Doesn't this also move hand-in-hand with espionage? Diplomacy has the potential to be every bit as gamebreaking and destructive as less subtle methods, but I think it's not being done in a way to correctly realise this.
Which is as it should be. Many armies of great power have been defeated by clever alliances and popular sentiment in their homelands. Diplomacy need more
Absolutely. If we had actual champion classes such that your researchers and merchants and farmers had no combat stats, I would happily support having them increase their skills by staying put in a city. But, currently, this isn't the case. Your merchants and researchers are fully capable of equipping armor and weapons, increasing their attack skills, and basically doing everything a "combat" hero can do (even though there's no actual hero with a combat bonus).
Hell as I think more about it, the more the current Blandpions annoy me. There is soo much room for Strategical and Tactical Specialists in this game. An Apothecary would be a fine example of a unit that participates both in and out of battle. He could be very much like a normal Adventurer champion. However instead of Strength and Dex, he would get triage and potionmaking. It would behoove you to protect such a frail unit during tactical because he will heal you, and w

Otherwise everyone's just going to keep them in town until they're unkillable, then go wipe the map.
That only applies if the hero is a combat hero, and/or the exp they are gaining is combat xp. If the noncombat classes only gained noncombat levels, then your scenario has no fear to it. And honestly, no researcher in the world has ever go
It's basically as inaccurate as it can get. Because people who take web surveys most surely don't skew the responses towards digital downloads, plus the sample size is pitifully small for the size of the industry.
Not just sample size, but sample diversity and penetration are terrible too. I would regard those results as questionable at best, and more leaning toward simply unsound. As tempting as it may be, we of the 'preorder beta' forums are not exactly

Indeed, the 'cheese' as you call it relates just as much to Melee and Armor(more so under proper stating), it is purely related to the non-separate function of attack/damage and armor/mitigation. As said earlier, simply make HP higher, and then mitigation/missrate and hit/damage separated stats. Just as an example, a Warrior Sovereign, Lvl10, Berserker Amulet, 2 zerker rings, Claymore, Horse and all STR + 15 str start will have 35 str meaning 250% multiplier on (30+6+6+3) = me

Thank you Tridus for fielding Saije's latest 'it works fine' post. Still playing around with 3b, but like I said, I will later post the math as to why the current system is nonfunctional in regards to essence(and several other things, you reeeeeeally need to take a numbers pass Brad).
