Doesn't Stardock make more profit through digital sales because there's no middle man taking his cut? But I guess you also need the exposure that comes from a retail presence. On that note, Elemental is still sitting prominently on end-caps at my local Best Buy stores, so it's still getting high visibility. I think what Elemental r

Fired up the game this morning just to check things out. Game is running really smooth right now. Everything is so fluid, and I love the interface tweaks. Also, critters are more aggressive. I established a town then sent my sovereign off to explore. A few turns later a bear approached my town and destroyed it! Looks like you can no longer leave towns undefended early in the game like you could in previous versions. I'll need to pay attenti

Generally, mana is capped, so you'll have a maximum amount available at any given time. This cap can be raised throughout the course of the game, but you can't collect more than the maximum. The stats affecting mana "income" dictate how quickly your mana re

This is huge. It's almost like we're getting a whole new game. I really like how magic has become more diverse and interesting. When you read over a list of spell descriptions and each one has you thinking, "I can't lose with that spell!", that means Stardock is definitely on the right track.

I think at this point "When it's done" is probably the most accurate response. Stardock has a lot riding on this patch, so I don't blame them for taking their time.

I think at this point Stardock is keeping their nose to the grind stone and getting 1.1 ready for release. There's a lot riding on this patch -- it could very well make or break Elemental (in a PR sense) -- so I don't blame them for focusing their energies in that direction at the moment.

1.0 was the release version. The day one patch was 1.05. Since then we've had 1.06, 1.07, 1.08, and 1.09. 1.1 is next in line and is supposed to be released within the next three weeks.

Only thing is that you have to download the whole game -- all 2+ GB of it -- every time it's updated. Seriously, folks, just use Impulse for incremental updates.
