What Happened to the Regular Updates?

See title. I'm just really disappointed that we're not getting regular updates anymore. For whatever reason. I've been lurking around these forums a LOT since 1.09's release to see when I could start getting excited about this game again and it's very disappointing that the level of communication has dropped off since Kael has come on board. I expected more...

Please get back in to the regular updates thing, or I'll just have to lose interest....

Most game companies don't give informational updates at all.  Have you lost interest in all of your other games because of a lack of updates on an internet forum?

Ssshhhh!  You'll wake the developers working on my 20-30 new quests in 1.1.

I'm not sure what you expect them to say. A new guy just took over as producer of the game, and there's a substantial patch being developed. It's not like stuff isn't being worked on.

Plus if you look back in the past, you can see how many times announcing stuff early caused trouble when it turned out to not work out. If they're holding off on talking about 1.1 stuff until AFTER some testing and iteration on the game systems, that's a good thing.

Nobody really wants another "this will be a realtime game with thousands of troops on the field... oh wait, no it won't" type issue again.

I think there's a good chance of a beta patch tomorrow.  Unsure though.

Nothing, you just haven't been taking your Ritalin.

yeah.   They are doing such massive overhauls on it that 'regular' is not allowed to be referenced in terms of weekly updates.  "Regular updates" can be once a month or once every two months and that is still pretty darn regular.  Most games only get a small handful of patches, you'll have 1.1 in time for thanksgiving break for sure!  (I'd wager karma on it)

This has to be sarcasm...

That or DevildogFF wants something along these lines...

Dev: "Hey community, just grabbing a coffee!"

5 minutes later...

Dev: "Okay, have my coffee and am back to work!"

10 minutes later...

DevildogFF: "What, no update?"

Now that sort of functionality might make the karma system a bit more 'balanced' ... ;)

I think at this point Stardock is keeping their nose to the grind stone and getting 1.1 ready for release.  There's a lot riding on this patch -- it could very well make or break Elemental (in a PR sense) -- so I don't blame them for focusing their energies in that direction at the moment.
