Well, I think I heard we can enter dungeons now, so lets hope they have stories. (And of course the ever popular answer: We will be able to mod dungeon types in! ..probably)
SnallTrippin
There could easily be a spell/or automatically/or item, that you can have that will res the channeler if he/she dies and bring them back to their capital city, with lose of some stats of course. EDIT- Like certain spells in Dominions series (Like making your channerl a litch, or a spell to make them a litch upon death) - Only works if they die in their own realm though I think.
While I disagree about mimiking games I DO think that there's still room for TRUE originality in the games market. It's just not old enough to have everything done, especially as new PC power will possibly give rise to new possibilites.
Well by 'perfect' I meant, best done to date that I know of. Heh, but yes, DO go check it out, I've beaten the game many times and might go do so again (Like Deus Ex but old strategy game). Take note though: When you're starting the game you'll prob die a lot at first.
It's actually very easy to overclock with programs, AS LONG AS - you don't overclock too much. If you overclock like mad though you're going to need more cooling than anything, especially weith GPUs.
There's NOTHING like playing older games that you couldn't on your old PC when you build a fresh one...mmmm yeah.
If you're just doing CPU, get ASUS' AI Suite. Can do a lot from there pretty safe. And it will tell you your temps too.
That is a nice kitten...I'll take three dozen (We're having a party).
That's why you look at MULTIPAL (I cant spell) games. Heh.The number of games helps, but in the end mimicking is mimicking.
Not necessarly, different ideas put together can be new, and it's damn hard to find a 'new' idea..though slightly easier in gaming since it's not 100 years old (Well electronic gaming anyway).
I hope I am being redundant here, but I feel a bit worried whenever people say to the devs "Look at game X". I would STRONGLY prefer to have EWOM be as unique as possible as opposed to a derivative of some existing game.
That's why you look at MULTIPAL (I cant spell) games. Heh.
Iirc, neither MoM or MoO1 had race customization at all ... but I know what you meant, cool Seriously, I can't wait to get the faction customization in. The plan ATM is to give the player X 'customization points' that can be spend on the 3 major parts of your faction: the sovereign's stats, the civilizations stats, and your magical preferences. You can imagine the HUGE range of possibilities with such a system...it's going to be nu
I do remember liking, and losing the cds (Or trading it for Total Annihalation?) Lords of Magic, been a looong time. I'm gonna have to look for this Lords of Chaos game though..Genghis Khan, and other such Koei titles, could def bring some information to the game I suppose.
For developing Elemental as far as possible: Sword of Aragon, Dominions, and MoM (Obviously). A well done mesh of these three would be so supremely classic...gah.
I just meant you shouldn't have to research much to get basic defense enchatments from roving volcano spawning Enchanters.
Sword of Aragon. Just remembered this old DOS game. You could do training level (Im pretty sure) type of weapons, armor, mounts. So there was ONE good game that did this anyway. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sword_of_Aragon
There's also Fantasy Empires, heroes would basicaly go away and either win/die/come back with nothing, etc. This is a different era of gaming though, I think questing on the main map will be the way to go.
LIFE may not be about gaining power..but when you're running a country, with hundreds of millions of people looking to you/government in some way, you look for the best options for your country, not the world. This is true of any country that I've ever heard of...
Well if there's a whole tree for defensive magic I imagine there'll be area enchatments to protect from all sorts of things, I'd be cool with that as long as it wasn't too deep in (And of course as long as they could be broken)
I can see this thread is going to end badly. Maybe it should be locked before turning sour.
Before? Heh
It has nothing to do with logic, but gameplay, especially since I don't see raising the volcanos, etc, being the pinnacle of magery, though I could be wrong.
Frankly, truly, it's stupid to help any other countries...no one remembers helpful shit in 20 years. Or less. Politics and global political power is not a game of morals.
Fun once, too easy though. Anyway, all shall be fixed in the beta. Well, a lot anyway..
I think you should def get a pre-encounter screen for any creatures much larger than a human anyway.
I agree, with enough magic power one should be able to do anything. ANYTHING!!! ...*cough*
Well I think that makes sense LOGICALLY Denryu, i'm not sure from a gameplay/balance persepective, as you could just swoop in on their capital, with their HUGE AWESOME STACK OF KILLERS..and BAM, all gone with one spell.
