Are you 32bit or 64bit? I guess maybe it is only there for 64biters?

Oh, ya. I forgot about the custom map bug. I believe all user maps are considered tiny for some odd reason.
I remember that pic. Got me excited way back when. But your desert texture can be replaced or slightly changed to look sandy without removing the 32bit users. I do like the effects you add to the sand tiles and tactical maps. That was a nice touch. Also, it would be nice to add some minor rolling hills to the tile so that it looks more like a desert. One thing I do is add a few hills here and there to make the desert look right. It also adds some much needed strategy to moving through those a
Interesting idea about knives ....
It would be compatible to try out, but has some minor design flaws. My new solution for knives will probably be something like 100% armor piercing, chance to slow unit, 20 attacks at 2 damage and a few other options for some more useful throwing options. Of course that sort of thing is pretty far back on my ideas list since we still have a ton of work to do on monsters and facti
I just watched the intro scene again by accident and noticed that it claims that you have to defeat the wildlands before you can defeat other factions. I remember this being one of my favorite aspects of the game's description and want it added to the game. I will play around with giving each wildland a siege device of some sort or perhaps an upgrade for siege weapons. It would be very cool to have this as a feature. And really, if you think about it, would make wildlands a necessary part
There is a setting in options to turn them on. Basic Options, middle column.
Also, I've never even heard of Shadow Magic, cant have been that good of a game.
Yes, it is a great game. It's extremely dated and only viable for multiplayer due to idiotic AI, but the focus on fast and fun tactical battles is something to behold. Now, Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic, is a tactical focused game. It's a very different beast than FE, which is a strategic focused game. I would say that F
How about a nice new desert texture? It is not sandy at all. That could be a nice addition for the expansion.
Technically that map would still be seen as Large I think. Just change the Large setting to 8 and see what happens. That is the essential learning method of modding. Also, think of ElementalDefs as the registry in a computer. Messing with the structure will seriously crash your fun. Don't add anything. Only changing values will work. It's the least moddable file in the box.
Overall it's not the end of the world like some people say, but it does have a few holes in the interface. I dislike it in the same way I dislike fast food, but still crave it at times. Now, if there were XML and PYTHON modding apps and other things that I actually use, that would sell me on it. So far the only thing the metro bar has done for me is waste an hour of my life playing a tower defense game. And even then I got bored and went back to Defense Grid. The thing I don
I an already planning a parody of Valentine in one of my quests. Needless to say it will be quite comical. He will be a master wizard that has spent so long writing critiques of magic, he has forgotten how to use it. His primary weakness is the silence spell.
Love what is going on here. But where did you get my family's Christmas photo for the OP?
People are gun shy on making maps, but it really is worth it. Not everyone knows it, but you actually generate a random map and then have the option to balance the map. The map generator is not perfect. But you can perfect it yourself to make sure every player has a fair start. It's also nice to make sure no one is going to start right next to another. Of course the negative is that you will know the whole map when you start. The choice becomes the excitement and then letdown of exploring
The 1.02 update is coming tonight. I have been focusing on upgrading my PC this last week, so it delayed my ability to properly update. I'll be doing a nuts and bolts update to 1.02. Then I'll add a smaller patch that addresses some balance issues I have on my to do list. What does me having a decent PC mean for you all? It means soon the mod will have new tile designs that really kick some serious ass. It also means there will be LP's coming out as soon as I get my new mi
In the ElementalDefs.xml file at the very bottom of the file. There are a number of min distance settings. They even have a switch for each map size.
If they are willing to put this much effort into further limiting smaking, why not just make the 9 tiles around the city a limit? It is the exact same effect as this suggestion, but it won't screw over 100 other things. Don't make me use the Derek design formula on this.
Title of thread says about instead of out.* I walked out on Jeepers Creepers when they showed us the monster at the end. I later found out that was the end of the movie.
Take what you like. [e digicons]:d[/e]
Thanks for all the help, those of you that did. I still have questions, but I'll admit that exploring a bastardization of a good OS brings back some much needed nostalgia.
Assassins are in fact the best mages. They can crit spells.
Behold the last troll of WoM. A troll to end all trolls. The last one that is sticking around to the bitter end. One that can somehow justify being stolen from even though his money was offered back to him. Even though a new game was given to him. Even though the new game kicks some serious ass. Even though it's been years. Why does he stay? Because he likes the idea of games more than playing them of course. This leaves him with a great deal of extra time in his life. What does he spend
Wow, that trolling leaked onto our site pretty quick. Not knowing the situation, I would have to say that I really don't care, except in as much as this trolling has now invaded one of my favorite forums. Giskarduk, go away. No one believes you. You sound like a crazed troll drunk on Trog's Blood. This is an Epic Fantasy 4x TBS site. Anyone who is a fan of this game has an above average intelligence. At least enough to see a troll for when it comes stumbling by. It took a long t
Pretty sure I never paid for Nexus mods. WTF are you talking about?
Actually, as long as high level cities can produce veteran enough units to compete with those high level Stacks, it all balances out. I too have thought long and hard about this and I am of the opinion that cities just need to be able to match unit levels of the game long XP lords you raise by leveling a Fortress and specializing your general empire in warfare. The vanilla game has yet to do it. I am close to perfecting it. I hope it catches on in vanilla and spreads to all games that have th
As long as the updates are engine based or just not concerning the XML I want to mod, more is better. If we got into a situation where so many things were being updated I couldn't keep up, that would kind of make it hard to mod. Nice to see that larger maps are a priority. My new comp can run massive maps already. I am excited to see what will happen next.
