The first 60 turns or so, when the world is full of lairs to explore, loot to gather & stuff to fight. Past that, and you're playing a very pared-down 4X game in a blasted wasteland.
Except in mods where new lairs spawn all the time and the world never ceases to have new dangers and stories.

I wish the catapult sieging ability was modable. I could do an entire siege metagame there. Without that I plan to move on to mixing magic with catapults. Fire attacks, ice attacks, poison gas bombs, flash bombs, etc... Pretty much anything my Thief can do I want to add to catapults.

Here's a question: Why do we care? The game sold enough units on release. Sales continue and the game is making enough money for the expansion to be made. The game was much less buggy than any other TBS game on release, period. CIV II-V, HoMM III-VI, Total War series. All of those games freaking sucked at 1.0 due to crashes and several other bugs. If you are judging FE by the same standards, it equals or outperforms them. The closer you get to recent history, the better FE s

I can learn the new system, I just don't see it as an improvement. It's really not that practical of an interface. It works for some things, but it makes some pretty general assumptions that just aren't the case for many PC's. The thing that makes me grumble about it is that if and when a new Windows OS fails, we don't get any recompense as customers. We have to pay full price to upgrade a year later to the new OS. If Stardock released a bad OS version, I would get the nex

I just got a UD4H on sale at Tiger Direct for real cheap. It was the best deal I could find. I think it was around 120.00 USD.
AI Won't berserk units if they have less than 10 hp
Is your way of saying the IsWorthy is now functioning?

Eh, I balanced things so that losing your main stack is not the end of the game. The vanilla can probably do the same thing, but their design seems to want the game to be over as soon as possible. That is probably why they make SoD's so powerful and irreplaceable.

For the late game, the AI should: Save up resources to produce a few super powered troops and place them all in the same army. Train weak units that cost no resources constantly when it can't afford a decent unit. These units should be used as fodder before the real units are sent in. Only have one hero per army. Heroes become more useful as generals in the late game. You just can't afford to split XP.
So I want to know, is the second part of the promise the expansion we are getting in January, or something else.
It's the January expansion. But expansions for Stardock are massive additions that feel like a sequel to the game. After the expansion, there won't be anything more besides patches from what Fb has said. January does seem extremely soon to me, but that date I suspect is not a deadline.

How does any of this confuse anyone? It's incredibly simple. You would have to be trying to be confused. The map pack is not an expansion. It's a test to see the market potential of DLC. An expansion to FE is coming out in January. WoM preorder people get it free. It will be a huge expansion relative to other games. Something like what TA was for GalCiv2. Really not complicated.

Can you think of a way to ensure that injuries are the only one chosen? Aren't they all in a single ability bonus?

What matters the most is the enemy's accuracy. The Dodge value is simply subtracted from the Accuracy of your enemy. If they have 112 Accuracy, your Dodge is irrelevant. What you might be experiencing is the fact that all units get +3 Accuracy per level in this version. I think the vanilla is down to 1 per level. Dodge is in no way balanced or fair in the vanilla, which is why I have this one set up the way I do. Dodge is essentially a defense that diminishes in value against high level u

I am getting this problem too. At first I thought it was a memory leak or a handicap. Now I believe they are choosing from all traits that don't have a prereq when getting an injury. It's a ridiculous bug that has yet to be addressed.

I can't do much about the accuracy and dodge issues. It's probably an error in the new logic they made. We used to have a system where 100 dodge against 100 accuracy would mean a 0% chance to hit. Not there is a minimum 3% chance to hit and miss. I would guess that they implemented this poorly and it is causing low to mid range hits to perform irrationally. I haven't done anything to the dodge system, except balance the numbers. MA tactical battles also last alot longer than vanil
