I use IOBIT uninstaller for this very reason. The problem is likely that the uninstall is not deleting the registry. This program is capable of searching for the reg and deleting it. I had the same problem a few times and this seemed to fix it.

Really only 1 is possible. The other could be done by adding a specific unit to city defense with the desired equipment and traits.
I never thought that was possible. Nice one Hf.
I am totally open to any improvement. I have had a few good conversations with the devs about this over the betas, but I think now that the game is settling into a permanent balance, the issue remains and needs to be addressed before release. However they want to do it. And I'll even let up about it right now since they probably just got out of the Monday morning meeting and have a ton of stuff to do. Let's hope we hear from them today though! [e digicons]^_^[/e]
XP = (X)/(M)(.5) For Troops XP = (X)/(M) For Champions Made a slight error in writing the equation. I updated the post with the correct equation.
Think of the money you spent on this game as a lesson paid in full. New developers with no previous success should not be where you pre-order or buy without reading reviews. It is irresponsible and really quite foolish. As we saw with WoM, even a company you trust implicitly can let you down sometimes. That was my lesson to never risk on an unfinished product or at least accept failure as a likely possibility. Don't get mad. Get smart.
Why do you hate to admit it? [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
I like your ideas because it would make a really flavourful city defense mechanic
My mod ran with that idea and it is alot of fun. The only thing is that adding defense into some already powerful economic buildings makes them too good. Generally a new upgrade line of defense based on city type is a good way to go.
Q: Trees don't show up when I play. How do I fix this? A: Run the game as Administrator.
The only thing I needed to do was run in administrator mode. I really blame the OS on this one.
Okay, running the game in administrator mode fixed this issue. I will update the support FAQ thread. Much ado about nothing. I must have put in 100hrs without trees thanks to a crap OS. Thanks Windows 7. Can't wait to see the new crap you sling in my mouth for Windows 8! /rage
It can't be a GPU/Memory issue because I had trees from server data. Switching to local data is the only case where I don't have trees. Now that we have only local data, at first it worked fine, but when I reinstalled because the game wasn't reading mods, the problem happened again. I suspect the issue is with the game not reading new files and using old xml data. But ya, it's probably not the server as I thought before.
No luck, still don't get trees. [e digicons]>:([/e]
My core files are reading now, but the trees aren't. I will put all tree data into the mods folder and see what happens.
I added much to the game in the form of Divination. In my opinion, exploration is handled extremely well in Civ games. So why not have a few options to get some really powerful magic exploration? My Eyes of the Eagle spell reveals 12 tile radius of the map. It is random bag to get Book of Winds, but when you do, you can do some serious scouting and you have a nice intel option during wars. I encourage the AI to use this alot, if they don't have full knowledge from the difficulty.
The gaming aspect where you automatically put it in your queue just to deny access is easily solved. Make each wonder cost 100+ Influence. That way you have to pay for it, meaning even keeping it in your queue costs a serious amount of resources. It also adds a nice aspect to the Influence mechanic.
All the references seem to be up to date, so if it tried, it would be calling the right models. No luck there. The issue must be with the actual rendering, but my debug log shows no indication that anything is wrong with the trees.
Those are the references but not the actual graphics.
Those are issues I am sure he would like to correct but can't currently. That doesn't mean he is going to give you vile serpents back your snaking. There will always be advantages of manual thought and design. The point of good choices is to force a choice between different attributes to add something to placement. Allow tile snaking negates this choice. I am glad the devs agree. Soon you will be able to mod it back in though.
It must not be reading the core files if the core files can be changed and nothing changes. I am guessing that for some reason the core files are being compiled on the first playthrough and then those values are being reused, instead of look at the core files again. If you can do it disconnected from the internets, it must be something like this. I started my first game this time as a mod and the core files are read now, but that is when the trees and fonts left. It's odd th
The way it works is this: Each unit gets the same base XP. That XP is then put through a function to reflect the party's situation. XP = (X)/(M)(.5) For Troops XP = (X)/(M) For Champions Where M is the number of champions in the group, X is the XP value from the enemy you killed. The more champions you add, the less everyone gets. Troops just get what everyone else would have gotten divided by 2.
Great! Now use your Earth magics to create a wall of mountains at any choke points. Then save up mana and break it down long enough to take over a city with metal and make a stand. That should be a good strategy. Make sure you teach the AI to use the volcano spell and Raise Mountain like that. It will blow people away.
Sov gets 20XP. Regular troops get 50% of what heroes do.
I would suggest going smaller to learn what the game can do. Since we already have a faction creator coming, you could work on new faction traits and blood to be used in custom faction creation. Making a new race is very advanced work IMHO and something I generally leave to someone that has a ton of time on their hands like Hf.
#8 is a still a definitive problem. I wish there was a way for me to control the AI in this respect.
