1.4 is said to have a fixed prestige system!

The real problem is that a random map will give the guy with more shards the most gold and lost libraries. That is WoM does this. Maybe the saint from FFH has fixed the map generator, but the distribution parameters are set to control quantity, not logical placement. Can we get another dev journal to see some more features?
Maybe some Lawful Evil Options in the Empire Diplomacy Tree. War Profiteering, double deals, forcing wars. In adventure there could be some quests made that can allow you to start wars between two enemies. I want some Evil.
Inn, Pub, Theatre, and Great Theatre (World Wonder).
How much have you played WoM? This game will use those basic elements. The fighting mechanics are fairly well lined out. The magic system is going to be very similar. The only real question that is left is about city building and the tech tree. You just spent a wall of text on criticisms of mechanics and level of spells that is pure conjecture. Quite negative conjecture. How about waiting until the beta opens before making a verdict on every spell in the book? It only seems fair, though you m
Your comments show a lack of understanding of the basic game.
How many times do I have to read this before the beta magically appears on impulse?
Great news Magog! You are the only thread the devs read this week and they have already added your request. Its called the Cartographer's Table and you can find it with the other editors. Lucky :P
This is exactly why the FE beta is so important. All the features we have been hoping for for a year now are either hidden behind the curtain, or just not going to ever be there. Vamos a ver!
All this talk of facing reminds me of my board game Lionheart. Anyone play that? If the battles could be as good as that, I think we would all be happy.
I agree. I would point out that your idea seems very difficult to add to the game.
Yes, but wait until FE in 2012 before buying. See a review and make sure you like the style before you commit to a purchase. That goes for anything you buy.
@Kantok, Hehe. I just had that same thought on the other side of the forum. City Portals would be a great way to differentiate a single race or shard. If properly balanced, it would mean that society could build light garrisons in every city and be sure they can all come together for defense. It makes an island strategy more feasible too. The most reasonable implementation though, is a world wonder at the end of the tech tree or from a very challenging quest. It could be great to have
Joss Whedon agrees FYI.
I am going to pursue this point as I pretty much agree with everything else. It is only logical that research into lost ruins brings about information of ruins that are close to you. The lore books and maps that one would study are no doubt in reference to local lore. That is anthropologically sound. I think that ruins should work more like the explore feature in Sins of a Solar Empire. Each city you build has a radius of influence. You have a lore level for each town that can be rais
Your post script is a very good point. My capital city, Moskva, is not readable in the latter part of games. Don't even get me started on Arkhangelsk.
Just waiting for the FE beta. Its going to be more polished. I still am using the tile editor though. Wish I was skilled enough to make my own textures for their props.
Multiplayer would kill the god machine. Sneak is the best function in the game and in many of its rivals. If they kept that, I will buy a copy.
I will use this thread to flesh out some Sov spell ideas: Curse of Kings - Any enemy unit within one tile of your Sovereign is forever bent to your will. There are no known magics that can counter this curse. As a result of receiving this curse your Sovereign will eventually be consumed in madness, causing his Intelligence to randomly drop during battle. (Negative effects will likely be altered after I see how stats work in the new game) Eye of th
I agree somewhat. Although, I would say a game is fun when you can be immersed. When the game gives you a story you can become a part of and in some little way believe in it. Sometimes really fun games make use of obvious gameness , like the wonderful world of Scott Pilgrim. I think realism is a poor choice of definition in a fantasy game. Perhaps, immersion, or logical world is a better way to put it. The problems you mention should mostly be solved with FE, so its hard
Let me begin by saying that as a privileged American citizen, I am satisfied but bored with the status quo. Racism has become mostly invisible, corporations are closing their grasp on our governmental bodies, and Mountain Dew comes in as many flavors as 90's coke. That is not to say that I don't thoroughly enjoy a little chaos. What those hackers really need is a clear, evil, target to go after. They need a leader, a symbol, to get behind and an other
Well, as I understand ze world of ze god machine, it is all about fighting massive corporate powers. So, ze game becomes quite meta when you must face ze real corporate powers that have apparently taken over ze game (german accent notwithstanding). I plan to play it as a browncoat, as I am always in games since Fox (bluesun corp.) destroyed firefly in much the same meta-fashion. We have truly arrived at dark times my internet companions. BTW, those 3rd person shots are in-game shots using the 3rd person camera. I don't think Tripwire uses any cut scenes or movies.
I think this game is a little dead. But thank you for contributing. FE will not likely have prestige. I wish that your system could be implemented.
