I will play on maps that I made. They are balanced and allow for a variety of strategies, if you have the will to power to use them. I agree that random map users will not be as lucky and I hope they fix that for you people .

I am glad you asked. Just about every aspect of the production system for FE has been upgraded, Including some very good talent from other TBS games. FE started with what WoM was and built on it. It's going to be much better. How much better is a valid question, but we won't know that until the beta comes out. During beta we will be able to mod some things and plan for projects after release. There just isn't much point to modding WoM unless it is something that will transfer to F
Elder 5 is really all I need. I try not to rely on conventions for anything. They never have what I want.
Any modder worth his weight has switched over to FE projects. It is just a better game.
That's cool, I just know how boring testing can be for new mods. Let's just make sure most of the mods are easily fit together.

I modded these a long time ago to give speed and sight, but +2 and I made them more expensive. It works pretty well.

I hate to say this but read up on 1.3 and see if you like it enough to get your spells back. Otherwise I recommend going through the corespells.xml and trying to find any bugs with your files. Or try getting Murteas' Grimoire from the mods section and see if using those spell files will fix your problem. P.S. It may also be that you are getting a spell penalty for being Gorgonian. They are a peaceful race. [e digicons]:grin:[/e]
I really want the game to allow for more fancy buildings using the tile editor. My Robust Cities mod fell flat due to a lack of ram to behold my awesome cities at level 5. They were designed to never have any gaps between tiles with patchwork walkways and vendors on every edge. I think a 64bit design level would greatly help us make zooming closer a pleasurable experience, while each tile could hold more tiny but well designed buildings.

No! Empire and Kingdom should be the only hard playstyle difference. Races should get bonuses and penalties and look very different in a biped sort of way. You should be able to choose any race or nation and be able to choose form the 5 ways to win and the 100 strategic playstyles to get there. I don't want to see the Resoln and say, "Guess that means I need to counter a heavy armor army with little magic." Typifying races and nations with a specific playstyle will actually make the game
barring forestallments, we will get beta in fall 2011. the more we post here, the sooner we will get it.
so i guess you guys dont mod the leveling system to scale with armies. my knights rely on high strength to kill their enemies. my mages get alot more inteligence too.

Why are stats not enough to sway heroes in different directions? They also get really unique traits and can specialize in a magic school. Some will likely come with special abilities and race abilities. Your Kingdom or Empire will also be able to get nation wide penalties and bonuses. (Edit: I was thinking this was for FE)

I would like to play multiplayer, but it is low priority for me. I think its more fun to save a starting position with a mod combo and give that to a friend to play. Then we can talk about how epic it was in a few months when we both finish. The different decisions we make will twist the game in different directions, while allowing us to discuss strategy for the really tough binds.
Okay I give about quantum mechanics being a piece of game design, but it would be square one if I were lead designer. I think FE will use far less space for cities from the info I have seen. I really don't like the idea of having a picture I can look at if I want to see my city. That just makes me question whether or not I am really playing a game at all. Another solution would be to scale cities down to one eighth of a tile so that more can fit in one place. Then the zoom could be improv
they should be adding more races, not taking away the best one. the only races that havent expanded east are the minor races. no one has seen them since the resoln put them in concentration camps. i am sure we will see them again soon...
