@ Tohron, There will never be that kind of random event. You are always able to respond and defend your cities. I do think that you bring up an important point: random events need to well crafted to be fun rather than an annoyance. Let me ask the questions, why do you not defend your cities, why are you playing in the highest difficulty if you can't even handle ran

I still don't understand why tactical battling is so expensive to make happen for multiplayer. I would like to see such a community develop around this game. I would think that alot of Dominions players might be your target demographic here.

I will pretend Nathan Fillion didn't hear that. David Tenant is great, one of the best, but people seem to think he is better. The show is more about good writing and consistency. These two guys were lucky enough to work with some of the few great writers of our time. The only real way to make a comparison is to have them play the same part. I think I just created a new reality show. [e digicons]8C[/e]

I know that in EWoM we could get quests from random events. In GalCiv2 we could get invaded or lose a quarter of our planets, the Dreadlords could come out of hiding, you could find new units/techs, you could get a worldwide bonus or penalty, you might go to war with someone, space ponies could make first contact, giving you cancer in the eye.

I recently came up with a way to allow players to sacrifice conventional warfare in exchange for one very powerful city: https://forums.elementalgame.com/411190 The short answer is a single building that is available early on that will give the player an invincible defense, for one city, until very late in the game. On a small map I would think the game would be more balanced if taking capitals was more difficult. I mean af

I think capitals should be basically unconquerable until the very endgame. See Disciples, Tolkien, Berlin, Moscow.

This will make my Circle of the Black Thorn quest line very doable. Thanks. Will the AI be capable of responding to these events by going to war/changing strategy/putting resources into a quest race with the human player?

If you need units right away you can just conjure them. If that and your standard defenses are not enough, you lose and I win. No need to have a quick production option. I like the one production feature. It makes management simpler. The AI will make or break this feature though; we can all agree on that.

Since Disciple 3 has no AI, nor units that weren't in the previous game, you will succeed. Their next expansion is going to take until Galciv3 I think.

Well this game is better overall than the first IMO. Better graphics and comparable freedom to choose. Better hacking and stealth. Sweet takedown animations that let you choose to kill. Boxes galore!

I never tried anything more than increasing the prestige level of improvements. It seems a very good fix for a couple of problems with the AI. The new beta will be out soon so I am counting on that to get me through the FE hunger pains.

In my army every man is expendable. Bell curves mean nothing as long as I can outproduce my enemy. [e digicons]:banhammer:[/e]

This game isn't really build for multiplayer. It's more of a side quest.
