Hey, can the Frogmeister, when he finishes the basics like counterspells, set up some systems for the AI to play dirty tricks on us? I was thinking that if much of the AI's thought is on countering, so will the human player think. So, say the AI sets up a one-two punch with different elements, going from a medium spell in say fire, only to follow up with frost. That way we of course would want to put up a frost shield to block the fireball that just killed a novice spearwoman, only to be

I would wait if I were you. You ever eat frozen pizza right before getting some delivered? Same situation.
Nice Necromancy. You must play empire.
Not get cancer from playing FE all night.
If you searched back through the forums you would laugh as hard as I do when I see someone mention espionage. [e digicons][/e]
Is FE Beta a subforum of FE Wishlist?
I know it was late last night so you probably don't remember saying I can have the beta today. Just have it to me by 3pm. [e digicons][/e]
1. Install After the War patch. 2. Set difficulty to challenging (best AI and health settings). 3. Go to the Workshop from main screen and download my map, Prirod. This map provides a fair and balanced game for 7-8 nations. It has strategic choke points that prevent the AI and you from steamrolling. It has areas designated for monster spawning, separating nations into groups of 2-3 until the endgame. The resources are well balanced, allowing the AI'
Great! Now download the Heavenfall After the War patch and tell me what you think. [e digicons][/e]
This is the post we have been waiting for! Can you post some examples of your mock battles so we can see how tactical battles are different from WoM? How does magic countering work? Frost shield negates fire or does fire penetrate a frost shield, but a fire shield makes you immune? Are you starting at magic for a specific reason or is it just first on the list? How will magical resistance be seen by the AI? Will they avoid units with a high resistance? Will enemy natio
[spoiler]The who question is also the first question in the first episode. I just love how that ties in. Leave it to the doctor to be nonchalant about the most basic question so that everyone asks it, doesn't get an answer and then totally disregards it. He may be using his perception filter powers on some people if you go back and watch every episode. I do find it strange that the question is apparently the first question at the beginning of everything. Are the Timelords god? I
My god man the beta will be out in less than a month! Stop using all of your insane talent on the Alpha.
Co-op campaign is the only reason I would still play this game, but it is unequivocally the worst functioning part of the game. It has had desync problems from day one that force the players to save at every opportunity, wait for it to crash, have the person that saved send his save file to the other play, then continue the damn game. Obviously they don't see this part of the game as essential, but it so sad to see the best part of a game wither and die. Meanwhile, the inconceivably popul
I know this makes me an exception but I have played this game on 2 different videocards over the past year and I seem to get fewer bugs and glitches than anyone else. I suppose my unbridled fanboyism has somehow made my copy immune to all but the most drastic of bugs. I seem to be 1000 turns in with no problems. There are of course balance issues that I plan to mod away in my next game, but I am able to enjoy the vanilla 1.4 without a hitch. P.S. Stalking you and
There is the general idea that seafaring will be something planned for future games. I would think we will see a basic implementation in FE and maybe some specialization in the following expansion. I really hope the idea catches on that crude ships can be fashioned by any unit and discarded upon arrival on new land as we saw in Civ5. The challenge should be to research more effective ships that can comprise a professional navy. There has always been a disconnect in TBS about how many ships it
I really liked Spaceforce: Rogue Universe despite its total lack of support after launch. It had a great concept of making sure that weapons and ships had advantages but steered clear of having one ship be better than any other. Every launch into space meant that you had to either kill something or get to mining because the harshness of space would literally eat away at your ship. The player was prevented from ever making so much money that he became rich. Money always mattered, space was alw
There was this six months ago, but the game has prevented the user from really getting into the story or even creating our own. FE is going to be able to tell the story of Elemental through the quest system. Hopefully this will foster new stories to be shared on the forum. I am planning a few tales of chivalry in the fight against overwhelming evil to be told through the quest system. I plan to make a thread that will be a walkthrough and storyteller for anyone interested. I bel
Ships were removed permanently. There has never been any intent to bring them back. They were just so poorly implemented that it makes more sense to avoid them altogether.
I think you are alone in that opinion Sgt_Harris. 1.3 may have been more stable for you, but 1.4 fixed the ridiculous prestige problem. On a fun note, they added a similar prestige system to FE. We can now look forward to convincing them to remove/fix it!
Why so much rage? I prefer to be ironically optimistic.
But if you have more cities and I have better magics, I should still be able to compete. You describe a very desirable realistic portion of the game. Of course that should be the core mechanics, but it should be altered by magic and heroic destiny. You also forgot that as cities become larger, especially in a post-apocalyptic setting, the general opinion of that city is diminished. As public opinion, let's call it prestige, drops, it becomes harder to convince people to move
I always come back to thinking that buildings and resources should define city growth with economic and government penalties being the only limiting factor besides geography. I am just trying to work within the system that has been developed so far. I am starting to worry that FE will need an entire mod just to balance larger maps.
Looking at this issue reminds me of The Langoliers. Maybe the people just kept moving on to the next present, while WoM was left behind. Let's start a malware virus that eats up the game code of WoM. It's the only way to get to FE.
Tropico 4 is brilliant.
They will have less health when you turn the difficulty down. Sounds like it is up pretty high.
