I played a few games on 'easy' early on (v1.19-1.20ish) and found for some reason the AI was far more aggressive than it is on 'normal'... They showed up with axe guys and gave me the chop pretty fast. On normal I agree you end up fighting herds of peasants that are pretty far from effective as either defensive or any other class units. I haven't tried 1.39 BETA yet as I had to wash my hair...

Anyone know if it will be out soon as a beta?
I have a compromise. If you turn the monitor 45 degrees you get diamonds!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Shreddies.
Yes this sounds about right. I lasted longer as I got a hero with crushing blow right off the start, but then it took me 100s of turns to find another female hero to marry and I generally found the pace of the game far to drawn out now. Research and income are snail slow and you can't expand your empire/kingdom too far or your population halts and you end up with no new units even to defend your conquered cities. I even screwed with the prestige bonus of buildings and th
I think there will still be islands you can not walk to, these may have resources on them, but given the city qty limit this isn't any big advantage now anyway. And yes, you could 'raise land' across the open water and walk to the islands. In previous versions I usually build a few ships to scout for islands with resources and they did exist so I assume they still do. Alternately if the edge of the island was in your zone of control you could teleport
You used to be able to build harbors and ships from beaches and board/exit ships there too. This feature has been dropped in v1.3.
I feel bad after reading this whole back-and-forth for starting this thread. For the record automakers do release crap, I worked for them, you wouldn't believe what they do. That's all I can say about that... legally. Also I like v1.3 it gave me some hope that if there was a 1.4 it might be not too bad... anyway. Glad someone is working on the 'issues', I guess everyone just needs to agree on what those are.
Anyone know if these development guys are or will work on a EWOM v1.4 or have they all gone on to something else?
What does this quest get you?
One question, What are all the pretige buildings for empire and kingdom?
I started a new game in 1.3 after changing the Inn to +5, Pub + 10 and Threatre to +25 and this seems to really help the city growth issues. Good idea seanw3.
I see two issues remaining: 1) # of cities vs prestige - kills city growth after 10 or so cities. If they are insistent on this restriction I think the increase to building prestige noted by others is the best solution. 2) Combat - in tactical combat hand-to-hand damage is dealt simultaneously even if the first attack kills the opponent. The attacking unit however is still on screen with 0 health in some cases and only dies after combat ends. You can hea
Is she hot? Lets hope so.
You can use equipment to heal units as well, the salted pork and healing potions. Just use them from the units equipment list.
Just wondering if anyone knows if you have to build all military units as 4 minimum or if special units (like dragons) are still individual? A 4 dragon unit would be scary but would take far too long to make, cost $4000 and only have 2 attacks. 4 individual dragons would be much more fun. Or are dragons gone? I haven't been able to play far enough with the restricted prestige and research/building costs to investigate this yet. Cheers, CP.
I agree with seanw3. This is a huge issue on anything but the smallest maps. And even then you have to burn your way through your enemies to keep the captured cities from screwing your population base growth to nothing. I have yet to be able to exceed city lvl of 3 and this is a real piss off. I like big maps and long games. Small maps suck as you can easily take 3-4 opponents before 100 turns. On a large map you're lucky to even find 2 others in 100 tu
Seanw3 - Are you suggesting this as a fix or does this work currently? I'm not certain I uderstand your meaning.
I'm starting to find it amusing that everyone (almost anyway) is still expecting FE to be the cat's ass when EWOM has been sucking more and more after each patch. If EWOM was a horse I'd just shoot it and look at FE like a nice case of herpes.
Quoting Nortalud, reply 16 Has anyone else noticed problems with heroes or other units disappearing after battle, despite having taken no visible damage during tactical combat? I've lost a couple now (one of them my spouse!) and can't tell if they're actually dying in combat but the damage suffered isn't animated, or if they're just randomly van
What does 'Economy tweaked and fix for out of control population' mean exactly? Is it still crippled for too many cities or is this fixed?
I agree, this is ridiculous. Please lift this or fix this.
I've been playing 1.2F now for a bit and found it by far the most stable and by far better balanced attempt at this game. But There are two issues I see still related to population. 1) Population growth cap for having multiple cities is ridiculous. This in the very least needs to be adjusted so the top X number (by size/fame) of cities are unaffected, then the next Y cities are perhaps minorly handicapped and after that everyone is crippled. Currently you don'
Only issue I have with 1.2F is the decrease in population growth with multiple cities and crippled economy as your # of cities increase. I don’t see the logic of this. If you treat food and population as a global resource and the population growth as one too then how can you then a) only have local growth in cities with room remaining and b) assume if you have a large empire that the growth of it will slow? For a) It would make sense to me that population would mov
One issue I've noted is on load from a save your moves of all units default to 2 or less (i.e. not 3 or 4 but 2/3 or 2/4 etc). I don't know if this issue was logged ever but I saw it in an earlier beta too. And so far the only items from the 1.2e log I can see is the decreases cash flow and decreased population growth rate when you have a large kingdom. Apparently too many people in one place makes everyone shy not willing to 'get it on', eve
I agree with Lantros, the description and what happens in the game update are night and day apart. I updated an existing game but it still sucks and now I just make less money per turn and the population growth is snail slow now. I don't see the correlation between having many small cities and a few large ones and having less prestige. WTF? This game is more screwed up now than 1.1 was. The AI can't cope either and is easier to kill now than before.&
