Some random is good. Totaly random is bad. If everything is absolutley determintstic then i might as well go play fire eblem(good game, but not what i want from elemental). Don't want peasent miltia rolling dragons either. Having to take chances and risk your forces gives some good suspense though and really adds to the game.

Steam is great unless they are fucking you over, which happens a bit too often. Steam is a great system run by monsters made of pure evil. And on the other topic, the basic question is, "What kind of game would appeal to females?" And it was also answered several times even if no one seemed to notice. The kind of game that appeals to them is kind labeled casual. [quote]And why you think women are a larger % of casual gamers? Maybe because most games that are don

ME2 has awesome combat, fun missions, intresting characters. However, it has some minigames you have to play, like the one where you scan for resources so you can upgrade your gear, that are amusing the first couple of times, but after you have spent 8 hours on them you want to rip your hair out in rage. A few other incredibly annoying things as well. On the whole, very fun game, but those few annoyances really keep it from being great.

My favorite is if you don't join the game at startup and everyone else had level 1000 toons with weapons of lolwtfbbqPWN +1000 and your the level 1 dupe who can't do anything. Or when there are like 4 expansions out and your have to but the original game for 50, then 4 expansions at 25 each, just so you can be the lvl 1 dupe. And pay 15 a month for the privilege. MMOs are a raw deal.

Snaking isn't too gamy. I live in dallas and the city council actually did that back in the 70s. They decided the population was gonna boom in the next decade so they took these 10 foot wide 2 mile long strips of ground, bought them up, and used to expand thier control out to every water source in the area. Now they make a crapton of money selling water to all the citys that grew up around us. So snaking actually happens in real life, whacky as it may seem.

Awesome, i alternate between being the voice of reason or the voice of need-more-elven-babes-in-platemail-bikinis. The whole point though, it that in a 4x game, unless the civs are pretty even, reversals are almost impossible without outside intervention. Once one civ gets an advantage you end up in a snowball postion where one side gets crushed. Trying to jump in and save a civ that has lost 90% of its territory is either pointless or gamebreaking. The only time you could really alte

A few mmorpgs are worth that much, WoW for one. The game is horribly addictive and will ruin your life until you manage to quit it, but its worth doing at least once so you know what its like to be addicted to crack without actually having to try it. I also hear guild wars is a decent choice as it had no subscription fee but IIRC guild wars is getting aged. Might want to just wait for guild wars 2 or something.

I have always enjoyed having multiple planes to work on. MoM is the obvious one, but i also enjoyed Age of Wonders system with above and below ground, and liked thier addition of the shadow plane in AoWSM a lot too. Having to worry about up and down as well as across the board adds quite a bit of fun, and i also enjoyed that each plane had something special about it. In MoM the difference were subtler, better resources and stronger monsters in myrran(magic world), more food and space to expan

Not unless those abs are sitting below some breasts. Back on the actual topic, i just realized the OP said you should be able to change your appeance 'whenever you want', didn't even catch that till now. Although now some of the previous posts make more sence. In SP thats fine, your only spending your own time; in MP that would be a nightmare. Although i am sure the devs already figured that out, i enjoy stating the obvious.

Most popular games get a complete overhaul mod. Although we can hope that elementals will not need one, if the modding community is solid enough its pretty much gaurenteed to get one.

The issue with most of the lists we have been tossing up to counter the OP list is that, while we may love some of those games, they just don't have any impact. GalCiv was an amazing game, but it wasn't widley played in the mainstream and didn't really effect anyone beyond its niche. Same with many other great games. Sad to say but Madden NFL probably had more impact than master of magic. It hurts, but we just have to accept that the best games around get passed over because they don't have a

Numerous lag issues, no console, hackers everywhere, no bans/kicks for anything. And i am still playing it. This game, with all those problems is only good, if they had dedicated servers + console, this could of been one of the best games ever. The actual gameplay itself is great. Watching MW2 fall short of its possible peak makes me cry. [e digicons]:'([/e]

If people are using thier own models for infantry and stuff, then sure they should just see thier own models, but for soverigns everyone should see the same thing. It dosen't really effect gameplay but it might be intresting and add a bit if every now and then you run across a soverign or hero who you have never seen before.

102 Replies 232,618 Views

Now that i think about it a little more, that might cause problems. If people make super detailed models it could be annoying to have to download everyone's model in MP. That or not see the same thing as them, which could also be annoying. But those are just MP problems.

When a ring of strength can let you toss around 10 ton boulders like they are babies the measley difference between sexes of 10-20 kg lifting power becomes pointless. Magic is the great equalizer. And mullets? now i need a macguyver family. Able to cast the armegedon spell with 4 twigs and a rock.

It is a time honored tradition that you can gain power by sacrifcing those closeest to you. I never want to lose my soverign, and the only family i want have pointy ears and double Ds. prehensile tale optional. Seems like that would be a pretty sweet trade for me.

26 Replies 25,298 Views

Ah, the perfect solution. Your soverign should be able to eat his children to maintain his immortality! You can either build up a big family and prepare for your eventual death, or you can suck the delicous youth right out of your kids and stay young and hip forever, but with no real family. TaDa, both systems, at the same time.

26 Replies 25,298 Views

Sovereigns should be immortal. Too much is tied up in them for there to be any kind of change over of leaders. It would also be nice to give bits of my imortality away. It might cost me some power right now, but giving a dozen knights some imortality will pay off down the road when they fought in every single war for the past century and are each experinced enough to slaughter a whole company of weaker units. Kind of a way to make sub-heroes. That and i don't want a hero i have invested a lot

Since channelers are the only source of magic it seems that mundane and magical econs will be forced apart(although this might just be wishful thinking). Mundane economies should help magic research up to a certain point, but the difference between having an empire and having a single large city should be negligible. As long as the channeler has errand runners he should be set. Having both should mundane and magical should work thogether, but as a combined arms thing. If i mixed channelar goe

Techs should be split into two classes. One for military/magic techs that are kept close gaurded and can be traded for. The second class for things like banking that diffuse to trade partners/neighbors over time. If you are trading with someone, thier merchants are likley to get a look at your advanced banking practices and copy them. However, the secret to making super pwn potions are going to be hidden and gaurded and getting too close to the manufacture building gets you a death se
