Microsoft already has a free anti-virus in security essentials, so i would assume this is done so that people don't think the scanner is a real(ie full/always on) anti-virus.

Right on, this is one of the few major issues i'm still having with the game. Keep up the good work guys!
Fact of the matter is, Micro$oft are the ones to blame for more computers not being 64 bit. Just about all computers in people's homes these days have 64 bit processors, but MS dithered in pushing out 64 bit OSs and allowed tons and tons of systems with 64 bit procs to ship preloaded with 32 bit OS. Don't forget that the game now has a new lead desinger, Derek Paxton(otherwise known as Kael, designer of the Fall from Heaven mod for Civ4) who came onto the team at the beggining of the year. We haven't really seen his influence into the game yet but im definiatly looking forward to it.
Its a great idea to read the T.A.R.s on the forums- they offer insights on how some of the more seasoned players play and are usually quite well written.
Since I just finished My first Epic game this morning - with the full version(I haven't played the Demo so I can't comment on differences) So I'll throw in My 2 cents. Oh, brother... And as I explained it does not mean crap. When you have 1:1 population to hexes nothing changes no matter

Wait, I am having issues using Impulse. I tried using my Tandy 1000TX to run Elemental and, man, I am having all sorts of weird effects. Does this magnetoplasmadynamic technology keep me from using the 5.25" floppy drive? I think I got hosed when I bought thi
Wholeheartedly agree. I got into 4x games with MOM, was a big civ player, AoW and many others. Perhaps the most played have been Kerberos's Sword of the Stars and Stardocks own GalCiv II. Not all of these games have had multiplayer - but of the ones that did, Multiplayer was the same as Sandbox mode - just with people. And thats what it really comes down too - I want to play the same game with others that I do by myself; I don't want to play a different game. I'd Like
This could be implemented by having each hero have a "personality page" or some such that would displays wants and desires of the unit. Give a small xp bonus(or equivlent for empire) each time a want is satisfied. You could have a hero that likes fire and would request fire related items. Early on he will request fast weapons and light armor - later on he would request fire amulets and flaming swords. or you could just have as a gripe page ie: My armor seems inadequate compare
The game displays Non damaging hits as a "miss" making it rather confusing as to whether or not you attacks are landing.
I've made a few suggestions in the Ideas forum if you want to add any idea or voice support. https://forums.elementalgame.com/391481 I like the fact we can miss but feel that there should be more feedback to weather the hit landed and was deflected or magic was resisted.
Is there a way to get a listing of all the games on special? I've been able to do it in the past on impulse but can't find the option to do it anymore.
edit: blarg wrong topic.

As an example (one of many) I present the problem of AI's dysfynctionality. The AI will either do nothing and let you walk all over it OR it will be bugged in a way that allows it to spend unlimited amounds of Gildar by going into a huge deficit. In the latter case they can then swarm you with the

You either have a failing HDD ot a faulty RAM module. You can do a SMART test of the HDD by installing a free version of an app called HDtune. You can do a memory test with a tool called MemTest86. Sorry for any incoherence, 4am
I may complain sometimes but you guys are hands down my favorite game Developer. Why? Because you are honest and upfront with your client-base and that is worth everything. You guys rock, keep up the good work.
Oo that could be an interesting idea - Prospector units. Impliment the ability as a pack (like with the pioneer) and allow the them to harvest a mine at 1/4 the City rate. You could even go farther and have them able to be used offensively - occupy an enemy mine blocking income from it and mine at 1/8 city rate.
Being an avid Sots player we have a term for that, Its call a sado-random number generator :P
Isnt this supposed to be out today?
They released an emergency patch to for Pre-orders yesterday as the street date had been broken so that any early player would get an updated version to play instead of the 20 day old gold version. That took time so the 0 day patch is coming out a little later than planned.
Right on! You guys rock frogboy
