Definatly reccomend the cogage true spirit., I'm using it on my 920 for 3.5 OC - it keeps the temps nice and low. Plus its relatively inexpensive. http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/cogage-true-spirit-cpu-cooler-socket-lga-1366.html http://hardocp.com/article/2009/07

Something to note about Elemantals magic system and uberstacks, The volcano of doom spell frogboy mention presumbly requires essence. This in itself helps balance it out as taking out armies repeatably in this fashion will quickly reduce your magical strengh.
snip
I like the idea that you need access to a shard type to cast that type of magic, but not that some spells need multiple shards. it would be nice to see extra shards increasing the effect of the spell, something like: Firebolt Requires Fire Shard to cast. Basecost: 5 mana Damage: 10 fire Boost cost: X fire damage per 2 mana (X= Number of Fire Shards controlled)</p
Essence has to be sacrifed in order to make the land livable. Therefor either your sovereign or a another channler needs to start the city in order to remain consistant. I do NOT want to see that mechanic changed much as is makes your cities much more valuable - and prevents endgame city spam.

Best news i'v had all year :P really looking forword to the magic system now.
Urist McTester Cancels complaint: Object lost/missing. really 9 days is nothing - keep up the good work guys.
You can use Sysinternals process explorer to see what each instance is running.
IIRC It was a quirk of illusionary units, true seeing negated the chance for them to rock you like that. (I could be horribly wrong, thats just what I remember doing to counter that) I remeber the Item creator (second executeble you could run) glitching and creating an Artifact with the Spell of mastery on it... which caused the cost to overflow and give it a negative 32000 gold cost. So if you bought it, it would max your money. And since items were offered based on your fame vs its
Just becuase you married into power doesn't mean you have to sleep with it to use it. Though I see the Fallen as being more likely to either care less about appearence or careless less about what the spouse wants. The other way to put it is unless its forced or a requirement of the marriage - An attractive channer will get more rolls to have kids than an unattrative one. :P Edit: gah need to proof read.
I suggest that Channers should be able to pick up traits through special events or certain battle conditions. Histories be soley Character gen though.
Personally I'm enjoying the series. It has a better feel to me than the first season of SG1, buts thats just my opinion.
ime pissed me off with its cliffhanger.
Respectully I'd like to out that Time did not end with a cliffhanger, it ended with the resolution - they just didn't spend the screen time to explain how it played out. Do we really need to see them getting to the planet a 3rd time? And then going though all the steps to the cure again?.... Sorry its a
I always Leave UAC on, Its not too intrusive and Win7s is a huge improvement over Vistas. The thing to remember with UAC is that it protects against anytype of autorunning Virus (USB viruses, Smitfrauds, etc), These are the same Viruses I see week after week in my repair shop. They are rather rare on vista+ machines as UAC tends to stop most of them (however you can't patch stupid, so you still see em sometimes).
If previous older fantasy games which were very successful included teleporters there's no reason why Stardock should not also try to include them.
I take what Kyro said in post 14 to mean that the trouble with teleporters is not pathfinding through them - that is a relatively simple thing to accomplish; but Coding the AI to use the Teleporters effectively in strategy. Getting the AI to flank an enemy army through a portal is alot harder than getting them to use it as
The latest screeenies look so dark and gloomy. Is that standard or did you at SD just pick dark and gloomy ones for some reason.
The last 2 pictures have lighting effects and shadows in - They make the pictures look much darker when you are comparing screenshots. Seeing it in person (and in motion) is much different.
Another bit of news on PBEM - I was at the friday(I had the Sword, take that footman2!) showing and someone had asked about PBEM, Brad's reply was that there was no techincal reason they could not implement it - only laziness. The general gist was that they were looking into it.
Its not Open Source, its Donation-ware (read free but you should give ToadyOne money) and Still in Alpha... Dwarf Fortress! www.bay12games.com or http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/dev_now.html (dev log) Probably one of the most frustratly entertaing games. Its Ui is pure horror and the game is in ASCII by default. However the depth is something els
A good solution in that case would be to only force the cutoff for games with tactical enabled. Then games set to only autoresolve should allow all connections. Edit: this of course presumes we will have a tactical battles yes/no option in game creation.
I'd Imagine we'll be the ones figuring out what the cut off should be in the beta testing process. With the the extended beta SD should be able to get the data needed to find the point that the game becomes unplayable. It will probably be sub 5kbs.
