Well, I think the idea of the stockpiling is good. However I would like to see the cap for the maximum amount of resources. The idea is: every empire has some initial amount of resources, that can be stockpiled. You may build some storage facilities in the cities, that can increase the cap. If the limit is reached, you don't get more resources, even if you have the sources. I think such thing might encourage the trade with others.

I think it would be nice, if you can send several pioneers to one resource to build the better "mine". Something like constructors in GC2. One pioneer - basic mine, second - improved mine..... Perhaps some upgrades can have logical but difference effect. For instance a lookout option - your vision range increases, a fortification could increase the defense of defending units, a store allows you to get some money from the mine etc.
My favorite D&D session involved a hero named "Tony." He was devilishly handsome, and a harem of beautiful women followed him wherever he went. As you might imagine, this caused all kinds of trouble in certain towns, as housewives would follow him like rats to the pied piper!
Well, I think it is not a bad idea for quest: Start: angry husbands complain to you you can: 1) ignore them (slight decrease in happiness for some time and sligh

I once decided (as a game master) we can try other things than low-medium experienced characters doing good things. So I created a world, where players were important persons. Level 16 (out of 20). The nicest player was "neutral evil". And so was the story: There were three of them. A cleric of a spider deity, one ruthless warrior, and a sorceress. Their homeland was an isle. For many years this land fought against other isle, where the cult of wasp was in charge. They were e

Agreed. There is no reason why she could not take care of city/state administration, crying on soldiers to speed their training and such things. Let us say the pregnant heroine/sovereign cannot attack. However she should be able to defend herself, if attacked. The length of the pregnancy may be altered to best suit the game. You can even find a real world explanation for this - there is a period of time when the woman is unaware of pregnancy or is aware, but not yet limited.

Tasunke: very good point! Bodyless: I was thinking about this too, but it would make female sovereigns less useful in the game. You must have the first generation of children. However for the next generations of heroes - no female = no child. It could make heroines very valuable. And if they increase your chance the child remains in your kingdom in cross-faction marriage...

Having a child is not an instant action. It may be an interesting addition, if this is implemented to the game. The female heroes can have children (the dynasty). So why not add the pregnancy to the game: "sorry, my lord, I can not take my longsword and kill this group of monsters. It could be harmful to our child...." edit: right, harmful...
Great idea if you ask me. Though I think it might encourage city spam, which needs to be avoided at all cost.
I don't think so. The tool against city spam is the rising upkeep (more cities = higher upkeep). I quite liked the way CtP handled the tile improvements. At later stages of the game it was even possible to change terrain type of the tiles. No magic. Send enough workers and they can create a hill for you, if you wish.
I miss the green knight tale in english folk lore. Your basic story of a mysterious knight that storms your banquet hall and challenges you to a duel. He offers you the first strike and takes off his helmet, leaving his neck unprotected. You chop off his head and to your amazement he is laughing at you. Instead of killing you he reattaches his head and steals your queen, A witch may be able to make a potion to kill this green knight but it is up to you to find her.
Each medieval city used to have a marketplace. So I don't see a problem if it happens in the game. Lots of people = lots of residential areas. It is logical too. The point is to have just right number of people in the city. So suggestion: each building requires some amount of workforce. You don't have enough people in the city, the building is not working even if it is already built. A city with several fams / mines is still logical, if it can support other cities. On the other hand s

I have already preordered Elemental (retail version). Would it be possible to order this book too, so it can be sent to me in one package with the game?

I don't like workers in Civilisation games. In the late game they are pretty annoying. As I read the posts in this thread, the problem of the roads has two important questions: 1) which way the road goes? 2) how the road is built? Which way the road goes There may be shortest way from the city to other city, but it may lead through a dangerous area. The player should be allowed to think about it and

I second the idea of the sanity check. Play the game twice (autoresolve and if I don't like the result again on the tactical combat) is cheating. Imagine the multiplayer game: two players attacking each other. One or the other lose the battle. After that: o no, let us try again! I suggest such behavior: 1) the game does the sanity check 2) both players may decide, if they want the tactical battle (AI players allways choose autoresolve). If at least one of them chooses

ESRB is a good thing. Not every game is suitable for children and I think parents should have a clue whether the game, film or a book is good for their offsprings. Actually I found some games not to be suitable for adults of any age too (such as Carmagedon). What I find interesting is someone consideres nudity and mating harmful while killing someone is quite normal. Breeding in Elemental is an interesting concept and I want it to be realized. I realy liked Bene Gesserit, so I a

Yes, it would be nice quest. Dragon Realms books by Knaak are full of inter-species breeding (namly humans, dragon, elves and some more). So it is completely imaginable to have this in the game. The only problem is technical - how to draw a half-dragon-quarter-elf-quarter-spider and what advantages/disadvantages the person (aehmmmm) being inherits so the game still remains balanced. The charisma thing: it is true people will more lik

I hope I will already be able to design new units in the upcomming beta. Instead of those nice peasants with stick I see only strange looking fog. And the core units have quite often zero hitpoints.... So you not yet in the beta, don't be sad! Even though the game looks very promising.

There was such mod for Morrowind. The naked persons wore some sort of underwear. However the only way you may see a naked person was to kill some NPC and took off her/his clothes. I found it disgusting even if I usually like to see a naked woman.

Well I am afraid in 4X game the size of the kingdom allways matters. You can see that in real life too. If the USA, China or SU attacks somebody, other states in the world protest but never do anything. Why? Because they are huge. And because they are huge, they are strong.
