The way I see it, magic is no different than any other physical law, but one which is both not fully understood (usually) and requires a life form to make use of, and thus cannot be effectively used by technology (since non-living material cannot make use of it). For example, midichlorians in Star Wars which enable use of the force. They exist only in living material, and it is not fully understood how it works (which is shown by the lack of technology emulating use of the force).
There appears to be some misunderstanding on how carbon capture is intended to function. The CO2 is not stored as a gas in caverns or containers but is injected directly into a mineral formation which it will chemically bond with. Wikipedia has a good article on this at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_capture_and_storage in particular the sections on gelological storage and mineral storage describe this process.
Why are they only giving recommended and minimum? Because they don't know the maximum yet. Look out for console ports when it comes to specs. Most of them have coding which is about as efficient as the government. The other problem with console games is they are not designed to be flexible. They are meant for static peices of technology from 3 years ago. Minimum can mean alot of things to alot of people. Gamers mostly assume it means 'playable' but the company could take it as 'progra
Dont forget the Novint Falcon... If I had some spare money I would get me one of them... Then there is the OCZ neural impulse actuator :) I would buy that just for the awesome factor alone. Playing Star Wars BF2 and using the force with my mind is just an awesome thought...
Its cheap. I got my copy of dread lords (havent got the other xpacs) for I think $20, and that was about a year ago. So, even if you don't like it and only play through one gigantic sized map for 20 hours, and you will have gotten more hours for your money than many games now a days [e digicons][/e] And I can gaurrentee you will enjoy it if you like both Civ and Sins...
Meh, I think I'll stick with my desktop. How expensive are those though?

ya... the only link between warcraft and starcraft is the names (both end with 'arcraft') and they are both made by blizzard...
Thing is, while that would work perfectly in an RPG setting as demonstrated by mount and blade, we would have to rethink it for an RTS setting. But not by much, when you send a formation of 100 to attack another formation of 100. Not all of the soldiers in the unit fight at the same time. Unless someone attacks them with arrows they just stand in the center of the formation doing nothing until its thier turn to fight at the front. [/q
Ya, from what I understand, the models already have hitboxes due to the physics stuff mentioned in the dev journals, its just a simple matter of letting the collision detection deal with the collisions between weapons and armor on separate units and figuring in damage based on angle, velocity, and armor thickness. On another note, for item stats I hope they use non-integar amounts... A soldier is never carrying exactly 50 kg of gear, it is always something more like 50.487kg... Intega
Heres another few articles from the IPCC site: http://www.grida.no/publications/other/ipcc_tar/?src=/climate/ipcc_tar/wg1/365.htm To summarize this one, weather events will become more severe. Drought will become more common, there was a larger increase in predicted 'extreme' weather, than the increase in rainfall estimates, which means the storms will become more severe. Essentially,
What if the earth is getting warmer. its been doing that for eons and world seems to be doing fine
Nuclear explosives can't be dangerous. After all, nuclear fission has been happening for eons and the world seems to be doing fine. It is not the rise that is alarming, it is the rate it has increased which causes concern. It may have been warming for eons, but it took eons for it to rise the amount it has in the past 100 years.
Most strategy games make use of army upkeep costs, which pretty much is the most simple and efficient way to simulate weapon and armor upkeep, feeding and clothing the soldiers, paying the soldiers, and all other costs associated with having an army. This is why durability is not taken into account in most games, since it is assumed the upkeep costs cover repair costs. If the player is required to send supply caravans which I would assume the player pays for, you must also make sure the upkee
There is another way... but it is MUCH more complex... something I would like to find out if it works when I go to college for game programing... If some sort of simulation could be used to determine the properties of a mixture/compound of elements and then how those mixtures react when certain forces are applied such as temperature or other materials... Imagine this: Player digs Rock X out of the ground. Player reads description card which appears stating the composition
CO2 also directly affects the oceans. It is also the main reason why sequestring CO2 might not work. When CO2 mixes with water, it forms Carbonic Acid (H2CO3) which, as the name suggests, is a slight acid. Models predict that due to the current rises in CO2, the oceans PH will decrease by .3 by the end of the century ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocean_acidification ) and have already decreased by .075, a very major change for the
Step 1: get Sins Step 2: wait 10 years and get a top of the line gaming computer Step 3: install sins on said computer Step 4: mod a few game files to increase ship numbers allowed, build speed, resource speed, ect to about 10 to 100 times default Step 5: play your newly modded Sins game, and enjoy your 5k+ ship battles at 60 fps :)
If I remember correctly, about a year or two ago the ppm (parts per million) of CO2 in the air had doubled since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Since then it has only gone up higher. If we have managed to double the amount of any substance in the atmosphere, that should send up some red flags that we can and are affecting the climate, and in a very big way. Fossil fuels will also never run out. Cheap oil may run out soon, but as mentioned above there is plenty of oil shale t

The biggest reason why global warming is doubted amoung the populace is the death of investigative journalism. Think about it; when is the last time you turned on CBS or NBC or ABC and saw information they had discovered on their own, information which was more than just a restated press release? The rise of the internet is making big news companies wallets hurt in a big way. They just cannot afford to investigate any of the information spoon fed to them any longer, they only report it as it

The whole purpose of these digital distribution softwares is the ability for you to take your games anywhere and play them, so it should be fine. Just don't have the game running on both computers at once, since thats where it might get hairy. Taking a game somewhere else and playing it wouldn't raise any anti-piracy flags, but if it is played on both computers halfway across the world at the same time, that is when you might get into trouble. So just don't leave the game running on
