I'm not going to say anything about overall graphics, since I figure I'm to biased to do that (if Stardock showed anything above pong graphics I would probably say they are great)... But as far as specifics, I see the 'cotton candy' trees people were complaining about are gone and replaced with more detailed versions. Also, are the objects in the bottom left corner (rocks I think) tilted? If not it appears some of their shadows are going at the wrong angle... Unless of course there are multip
Hehe! I know a great RPG they could do on the cheap! They give you the compiler and you get to role play as a programmer! :D
I usually get about a week or so in which I am playing nothing but a game, followed by a few weeks of moderate playing of the game, followed by possibly years of sporadicly playing a game. Games which are actively supported by the devs *cough* Stardock *cough* last MUCH longer than those left out to dry *cough* Far Cry 2 *cough*. I have got more play time from Mount and Blade, which I got on Steam for $7.50 (on sale) than I have from Far Cry 2 which I bought for $50. IMO the top notch

I'm not sure that's a state I want to live in.
Hehe... ya, Michigan is probably the worst economy for the past few years. The auto industry declined, and Michigan's economy declined with it. Its probably in the speech since it is one of the few sectors which is expanding rather th
Red areas are less than 6 meters above sea level: Despite 6 meters being a bit extreme, it does make the point of just how much land in coastal regions will be under sea water with just a little rise. And with that problem comes the problem of salt water seeping into the groundwater supply which had previously supplied a town or city with their water.
Hehe, I remember the Gal Civ II manual when describing the planet qualities... "6-8: Highly unpleasant" "9: Unpleasant, like northern Michigan" "10-14: Like Earth" "16 and up: Very rare, but where we hope to retire" Not that I would mind moving to Michigan if I were able to get a job there... It would be far enough from my parents and my mom's side of the family that I wouldn't have to worry about being bothered by them while being relatively close to my dad's s
Only 6 years til I get done with college... Hopefully I can land a job with Stardock :D
Sounds like a good case to have around. Not to put any components in, but to act as a dust magnet! We have an open case design at our house, and it has tons of dust which gets all over and makes the CPU overheat. By open case design, I mean we lost the side cover somehow. :P Unless you have about three air filters surounding the thing, open case sounds like a really bad idea. The fans would just suck all the dust in the room right into the case... Not to mention, if you have any child
To me there are 2 reasons I like PC. First of all, PC mouse + keyboard combo is a far superior control method than the dual atari sticks and a few buttons they call a gamepad. MANY console ports to PC really show off the superiority of mouse and keyboard, especially shooting games. Often times the difficulty of the AI have to be turned up so the enemies dont get steamrolled. There is just more control and precision available from a mouse than from a joystick. Second, consoles suffer f
lol and we thought the whole wardrobe malfunction was bad... By the way Annatar, I think NBC stole your avatar and made an ad out of it...
One of the key take-away points from An Inconvenient Truth was that the USA contributes a large percentage (we're over-represented in the stats) to the problem - and has done relatively little to work towards an impactful solution. So while the issue is global in scope, Al Gore may have been trying to speak to those that are most contributory to the issue. Americans are the target audience, not just because we create a large

Multiple groups with separate meetings would be interesting. It could be done something like a chat room where you can request to be invited or be invited by the player/ai. Each one could have diplomacy options visible to everyone in the room. A single group strikes me as somewhat inappropriate for the general fantasy time period (medieval style) since it is highly unlikely all leaders would meet together. I know for sure Sauron, Gandalf, Sauruman, Denethor and Theodin never got together for

Hehe... Silly MS... don't they know the world doesn't end until 2012?
The death star... Building something of that size is space is no small feat.
Nuclear cars will become the norm, and will pretty much dominate every other variety by around 2077.
Maybe. Although if it is implemented, it would be highly unlikely it would be named 'United Nations.' First of all, we would be playing as empires not nations... Second, we will be about as 'United' as Pakistan is united with Israel, so 'United' doesn't make much sense. I highly doubt any big peace oriented organization would fit in with this sort of a time period. As stated above, a 'Council' would make more sense.
Ya, that has got to be the funniest news story I ever came across... A better video of it is on msnbc, under the tech & science section.

Ah yes, sorry. It seems those numbers I found were system numbers not just that component. So you should be fine.
