I can't win a round to save my life! everyone else has items and I don't even know how you get those lol
IMO, that's the kind of thing that makes you feel like you're leading an empire and not just remote-controlling a bunch of tactical units.
I agree that this point is very important in games in general, especially for us who are looking for more of an RPG aspect. I think a lot of civ style games today dont represent this at all either. But luckily, I think that the aspects that Brad has already discussed (especially
Doesn't this amount to "all battles are tactical" if in multiplayer.
I would suppose you would be right, because like its been mentioned before I seriously don't think an AI could match up against a human player. But the question I am having is mentioned in original post by Frogboy:
The idea is that you zoom in to a given battle and you see all your units there. From there, you can
Wow, this is great news about the whole D&D thing! [e digicons][/e] I always have wanted to play a round or session (or whatever its called) of D&D but I just haven't seemed to grip the whole idea behind an original and true RPG! For some reason I just can't seem to get the gist... [e digicons];P[/e] I don't care if people think Im a nerd, I love the idea of it all and it makes me super happy to hear [e digicons][/e] Thanks for the update, Brad!
This is really looking great, guys [e digicons][/e] I love Civ IV, especially Fall from Heaven, tho I expect Elemental to be a gazillion times better [e digicons][/e] I can't wait!! Btw, I was meaning to ask, is it too late to be considered in the beta testing? And i totally agree wintersong, those 64 bit maps are gonna be pretty sweet, I call first game [e digicons]:)[/e]
139, I think its about time this Armageddon Counter went down [e digicons][/e]
Im soo pumped! [e digicons][/e] I can't stop staring at it!!
The only thing I really want in terms of city aesthetics that I don't see the makings of in this image is for city graphics to reflect populations. I want a settlement of 100 people to be small, simple, and dominated by a few central structures; and I want a settlement of 20,000 people to look like a thriving, busy populated area with houses tucked tigh
Luckmann, may I say you are truly my hero! lol I am totally amazed by your nations that you created in your post and heroes to go along with it! May I ask how you created those totally authentic portraits of your heroes?
On the subject of Fall from Heaven, it is interesting that most of the factions themes described so far in this thread (apart from the xenophobic robots) could be covered by the Fall from Heaven factions: Amurites: Magical Society Balseraphs: Mad Murderous Clowns Bannor: Lawful Crusaders Calabim: Aristocratic Vampires Clan of Embers: Barbaric Orcs Doviello: Chaotic Beastmen Elohim: Spiritual Monks Grigori:
Hmm, very interesting... - I agree that the Altar seem to be religious, for obvious reasons [e digicons][/e] - The Yoren are obsessed with xenophobic robots who want to take over the galaxy and spread us on their toast... which evidently they eat? [e digicons]:S[/e] - I imagine the Kingdom of Gildren being a quick to act nation of chivalrous knights - Tarth sounds like a trader nation to me All the Fallen sound like orcs... [

I took off my avatar and cant upload a new one... [e digicons]:'([/e] this might be unrelated but i kinda feel pathetic and wanted to know if anyone else was having the same problem [e digicons]:X[/e]
Well at least they would have a lot of fish [e digicons];P[/e] Best bet for your people? to become pirates and raid the coastal cities, and hope the other nations dont upgrade their units with the Amphibious upgrade to take their last city... Stupid Civ IV strategies of mine [e digicons][/e]
Very very nice Luckmann! [e digicons][/e] I will plan on contributing as well, whenever I can find the time! [e digicons]^_^[/e]
In truth I was annoyed by Civ IVs interpretation of "health" in game. I thought that it was far too common for your cities to be emitting green smoke, because you didnt have the right resources or improvements... which was a major turn off in a visual aspect especially [e digicons];P[/e] not to mention infuriating that as you played on harder difficulty levels it just got harder to maintain! On another note, I would be happy to see specific diseases caused by magic and
Quoting Darkodinplus, reply 6 I would point out something can be inspirational without being directly related to what it inspires. That being said, some kind of link between Elemental and Galciv II is possible. there is a direct link between the two. Fixed. From the first of these 2 threads, from the mouth of God Frogboy himself: "There are no Dread Lords in Elemental. The

Wow, this looks so amazing! [e digicons]:)[/e] Thank you for the update Frogboy! I love the art behind video games, and I totally agree with what your going for. Looking forward to more and more as we near the beta testing! [e digicons][/e]
I think most of the information asked about in this thread can be inferred by looking closely at the image of the battle under the media section. One thing I notice is the soldier closest to the dragon seems to have lost his sword (it is seen above him) which implies that soldiers can be separated from their equipment in battle. This could just be a superficial death animation, but some of the other soldiers also flying through the air still have thei

You know I think this is a silly discussion anyways, because Frogboy has already stated that the game will be extremely moddable anyways. So those who want bears will have bears, regardless of their orignal inclusion in the game or not. And yes, with modding you would in turn be able to take them out FlyGuy [e digicons][/e] <img src="http://www.mariowiki.com/images/thumb/d/db/FlyGuysMP8.png/200px-
My intention was not to have the envoys as specific units you have to manually direct.
I understand, but you would have to designate the creation of the unit anyways, correct? Think Rise of Nations, when you create a caravan unit. You create it, tell it where to go and then its automated for the rest of the game. So yes I see your point, but I mean it has to start as a unit somewhere... unless... You go into your diplomacy window and click on a leader's portrai
Or maybe you could have a unit-based envoy system to be used until you finish researching the appropriate spell for magic instant-communication..
I like your idea of a spell that allows instant communication such as scrying where once both nations have the spell it allows them to communicate instantly. [e digicons]^_^[/e] But to tell you the truth I don't think that envoys would be that much of a hassle... all you would have to do is
