Game isn't even worth attempting to fix. How do I go about getting a refund?

Is there any chance I can get a refund for this game? It's incredibly bad and I think it's insulting how it was rushed out the door the way it was. Being in beta I probably should have seen this coming but now... jesus. What do I have to do to get a refund?
The OP is right... they totally lied with the "1000's of units!" line and then this is what we get... This isn't epic. This feels incredibly dull. Wishing I hadn't bought it TBH...
I was wondering, do you think it is possible for me to get a refund for this 'game', either in the future or now? I'm a college kid and while gaming is my one self-allowed luxury, this isn't a game. This is a fantastic example of how NOT to make a game. It feels rushed, the overall polish is embarrassing, and the game mechanics themselves feel jumbled and idiotic. Half the game is waiting for something minor and inconsequential to happen. The other half is being disappointed by the results of
Game shouldn't have been released in this condition.
This is really bad. Jesus, games from the 80's manage friggin random map generation...
+1 The simple truth is that they felt this needed to be pushed out the door for some reason. No denying it, this game could have been great. Now, all we have is a jumbled mess.
Despite it making sense, I too see no way to make unit upgrades after its been built. Really bad design and a step back IMO.
Quoting endofdayz, reply 7Game had to be rushed out the door for some reason soo... no race creation I'm really not in the mood for endless trolling in various thread. Consider yourself warned.
I am honestly just disappointed and it has been said, over and over, that race creation may be a future addition, so I don't think its too drastic a statement to say that a month or two more would have made race creatio
Please don't take this the wrong way. You should give them some ideas on the spells you would like to see in the game instead of just stating there aren't enough.
Im pretty sure there was a thread during beta with several hundred. They just got lazy and needed to push it out the door.
Wow, a strategy game lacking random map generation in 2010... but hey, at least they got it out early enough to milk the holiday crowd!
I kinda saw this coming. They for some reason really felt the need to rush it out the door. So much was left on the cutting room floor, we didn't even get a finished game... sad. Coulda been so much more.
Game had to be rushed out the door for some reason soo... no race creation :(
Wait a second... did you use a new alias to quote the ramblings of an old alias as proof of... whatever? Ya know, I dislike some of the things that SD did in elemental too, but the games almost out. What are you even trying to accomplish? And saying its not as good as Disciples 3? The game that is universally panned by reviewers for everything except its graphics? ...Do you know what a game is?
Modding does add to end sales; I re-bought Civ4 on steam because I wanted to play FFH2 so bad and had lost my CD's. A great mod may open up an entire market - if you get a really great RPG mod with enough coverage, I could easily see you bringing in a new demographic. Make modding open enough and you will have people working for you, free, happily, and producing amazing things.
Rather disappointing with unit numbers... was hoping to see a very new and novel idea to allow for scaling, such as leadership and reinforcements. Oh well... another modding thing.
The problem is that you guys don't actually know what goes into making a game. Time wise, after art and sound are collected, games come together extremely quickly. A single person can plow through bugs etc rapidly as they are revealed (hence the point of a beta). I can barely get through a few turns without crashing but thats the way games work. lol all this gloom and doom is why companies should never do public testing. Little kids have no idea what a "project" is, and patience is al
Prefer the option, but default should be Fixed. I think them growing and shrinking takes away from that "Epic" feeling you should get as you view your surroundings.
As someone who once attempted to make a simple basic A vs B decision system in a text based RPQ as an "AI" I must say it seems to be a monumental undertaking. Anyone who can really make that stuff work is amazing imo. Something else that always annoyed me is that players expect a fair AI that beats them on higher levels. What they are almost asking for in that case is a computer program that is more intelligent than a human being... Which has been said to be one of the possible causes
Frogboy has already stated that they will likely lose sales because Elemental isn't another generic fanasty world. He also doesn't care; he wants to make his game the way he likes it. He doesn't have stockholders to answer to and is running a very profitable company. He doesn't need to squeeze out every sale. Im not talking too much about money or anything, im speaking more about the mod community. Very few people actively mod, and the f
I may not agree with his arguments, fully to date.
Good. If everyone always agreed everything was fine humans would still be in the forest throwing feces at one another.
And I too will be modding in my own fantasy D&D inspired world, for gameplay. Though I'm just fine experiencing the game as being presented. (Which differs from EndofDayz feeling.)</p
Your opinion is not stupid, your attitude and approach to presenting your points is immature and abrasive, so might offend. I might think too that someone should have pointed this out to you long ago?
What everyone else sees as abrasive I simply see as being honest and forthright. I have things to do and don't want to spend several hours crafting the perfect post to dance around the more "pointed" sections of my argument.
Had I realized my initial comment would so undermine the actual core of my argument, I would never have made it. I originally thought that it would simply be best to convey my annoyance, in hopes of grabbing someones attention. Now in hindsight my comment seems to have had its intended effect, and caused some serious insult. I apologize, and would like to rephrase it thusly, where now that I have the attention, I can actually convey the issue I have with the lore (and to a much lesser extent,
I kinda wouldn't mind some humour. Games are supposed to be fun after all. I also like that several other people seem to hold my view to an extent.
I guess I don't really know what you want. Would you rather them cram as many traditional races and monsters into the smallest amount of room? Instead of trying something deep and new and passionate and unexpected, you want them basically to do the exact same thing that's been done a million times? You don't want to have the
