We've had -14 C here in Sweden so this global warming thing I will believe when I see solid proof. In the meantime I'll side with the skeptics. Interesting the theory that the sun have been ignored as cause of our temperature.... <br

[quote who="-RAISTLIN-" reply="672" id="2503226"] Quoting Daiwa, reply 671 We're all qualified to be sceptical, Raistlin, whether you like it or not. Not really, only people with the requisite knowledge are qualified to be “sceptical” in this field. Those that do not possess such expertise are just armchair quarterbacks. True scepticism hinges upon evidence; ie if a certain amount of evidence supports a position

Funny thing about these "deep freeze" news stories is, they are talking about how we're getting our coldest temperatures since 1996, 1999, etc.. St. Louis has its first sub-zero temperature since 1999. I remember bicycling to school growing up in negative temperatures--in Missouri, in the daytime. We played outdoor hockey (well...more like broomb

Hey, I can't get fences to create when right clicking in windows 7 64 bit. I guess support hasn't been added yet, but I wanted to say this. Also, it would be nice if individual fences could have their icons resized (In other words, each window having all icons in it the same size, but each window can change the sizes of all icons in it, and other windows can be different sizes). I'm speaking from what I plan to do with fences, but I would imagine it would help. One

[quote who="Frogboy" reply="277" id="2472796"] According to GW alarmists we are the problem. I'm a regular on Treehugger.com and one of the most popular topics is how do we, as a species encourage either our gradual extinction or at the very least, a massive decline in our population to help "the environment". At various times in our planet's history, there have been species that have "polluted" far more than humans have. It's worth pointing out that the free

[quote who="Fuzzy Logic" reply="127" id="2465980"]Rather than use others' data to determine if the climate is warming, I can use my own. I've been keeping weather records since 1976. Taking the average temperature of the winter months of Dec, Jan and Feb for the first 15 years as being zero, the period 1993-2007 was 0.89°C warmer. Although 15 years is not long enough to indicate any kind on long term climate change, the increase is significant. I also ahve records on

[quote who="lifekatana" reply="103" id="2465464"]lol. If there is presented overwhelming evidence to you backed with overwhelming scientific support, would you not accept it? One little -religious- scientist with a certificate of some backwater college schooled in geology working for some institute funded by exxon mobile who comes up with (faulty) evidence against global warming does not mean global warming is not true. They're scientists who don't believe in heisenbergs uncertainty principle

Another thing that should be mentioned is that a person of a scientific mindset would use the scientific method for anything. This entire topic is a theory. A theory on rather or not global warming is happening. This theory should be questioned with the scientific method just like any theories. 1. Consider the problem and try to make sense of it using your experience. 2. State an explanation if no explanation is known. 3.&

1. Einstein's theory of relativity fundamentally altered what scientists once agreed to from Euclidean's 'space' to spacetime. So did the discoveries of many other scientists. Science isn't always right. 2. The entire purpose of science is to question reality. Without science questioning reality, we'd have people still believing the world is flat (Which ironically seems to be the same type of argument these global warming believers say). Science by d
