Down from #1 to #7 on Amazon.com in less then 1 week. Not even Doom 3 or Matrix Reloaded dropped this fast. The same game (Star Wars Force Unleashed) is beating it twice now, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/videogames/ref=pd_dp_ts_vg_1

To put it bluntly, a casual player would buy maybe one game a year. And they would buy a game that would last a long time. The Sims 2 was a huge success because they could buy it, start a family, and play forever. A casual gamer isn't as stupid as you think. A game like bejeweled 2 or Peggle would be more exciting and longer lasting then Spore.

People were fooled for a while about Starforce, just like they were fooled about Secu-rom. But, the word is out now. Errr, Spore is directly target at casual players (people with less mind than sims players) to get more money (you know, rather than have a brilliant g
The main issue with all of this is companies who look only to the next quarter, for the quick buck. EA isn't looking at how customer outrage will effect them 5 years from now; neither are you guys. Look at our airline business. It's suffering mainly because we still use gas guzzling wd-80s. The airlines didn't think to the future, and now are going out of business. It's not a question of if, but WHEN this effects EA. The richest people in the world st
If this is how DRM engineers are, they better enjoy their employment while they still can. They sold well like the early Starforce games did. Try looking up older Starforce related game sales. Some of them number in the 100's, (Not even 6 figures or 5) quite sadly.
We already have decent AI with basic repairing techniques. By the time his kids are old enough the pc will fix itself.,
First, damn the music!!!!! After that, nothing can touch it. The current scary movies are a joke compared to it.
Nope, it's a proven fact. Not only do games with no drm generally sell better, but non starforced versions of games on steam sold better then retail. It's a proven fact. DRM only hurt the publisher.
If you equate history, stats of pro-drm versus anti-drm users, and huge amount of pirated copies, it's safe to say spore is about to quickly go down FAST in popularity, as the pro-drm buyers should be close to finishing. Honestly, I predict 100,000 copies sold, maybe more. The spore saga will probably get pretty hilarious soon.
Ea is not an equivelent to Microsoft. Microsoft does NOT limit you to installing only 3 times, just on 1 pc. If you call them up years later to reinstall Xp they'll do it. EA =ENRON.
No, not release the beta during this good gaming season silly. 2-3 months actually scounds about right for when I'd wanna play, as the new games will keep me busy till then.
Since I can't edit, over 2 and a half years ago I got this pc, the e6400, 2 gigs ram (ram was $240 back them for 2 gigs of ddr800 ram :X), and a x1900xt 512. All I've done is add 2 gigs more ram (Prices are amazing now, why the hell not?) and added an 8800gts 640. I can play everything perfectly except crysis. If new games start giving me hickups, I dunno. This system cost me $1000 (Updated the components only). I'm hesitant to see if I should just get a 48
If your pc runs Crysis, it'll run Far Cry 2 [e digicons][/e] My pc is over two years old, and 1 year old since I bought a video card, and it's seriously the best pc I've ever had... e6400, 4 gigs ddr 1000 ram (overclocked ddr800 to 1000), and a 8800gts640. Runs crysis at 15-20 fps at ultra high, but I hate 15-20 fps so somethings are sacrificed. Left 4 Dead is a no brainer... Been watching the game for months. Far Cry 2 is already preordered on
Comeon, these commericals make sense, or try to. Better then most of the dribel on commeercials now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ3oHpup-pk&eurl=http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=45552&highlight=worst
Somebody said the beta participation ended if you bought at or before sept 11! Between new games like Clear Sky, Far Cry 2, Spore, Left 4 Dead, one can't be expected to buy it all at once :(
NEWSFLASH: Ignorance and kids don't combine well.
Obviously liberal countries with no idea how to keep peace would attack Americans. Wave those white flags when the russians take over please.
Well...... I'll suck it up. You guys aren't stupid. I am. I meant to say this concerning browers and somewhere along the lines of saying it, I fucked it all up.
I am reading back what I said... Hum, I guess I'm having a bad day. I meant to say 'UPDATE YOUR DAMN BROWSERS' and it came out all wrong.
I use all three. I've been talking about safe UPDATED browsers, not FF in perticular. I truly HATE people who come in on Xp using admin and use IE 6, and have never updated them >_ If you read back I actually bashed FF 3.0, and it's mainly due to it being a memory hog. I guess this didn't come across well, and I admit I've been too aggitated to make it come across well, but I simply mean updated browsers.
And one final thing: If you truly want to be safe, it doesn't start with just a browser. You SHOULD visit safe sites, but no one does that. So you need protection. Nod32 for viruses A good firewall (I don't have a favorite) A good spyware finder (I definately suggest spysweeper) A rootkit finder (Rootkitreveler) Cache cleaner (Ccleaner) And a registry cleaner (Hijackthis is a good one) These SHOULD be run once a week.
All that people who secure pcs want is people to stop making foolish choices. I guess if you want to give us money, go right ahead, but it's annoying to say the least. I suppose if I told you to get nod 32, a good firewall that blocks incoming and outgoing, run in user mode not admin, and don't download porn you'd have the same attitude? I suppose if I told you to run in Vista's 'Sudo' equivelent, UAC, you'd tell me to screw off? Whatever. This is why peopl
I'm honestly betting the people responding like this run Xp on admin mode too...
