Gosh, When I play Galciv2 I never use a huge map I find it to intimidating. When I played MOM I always found the huge map to be to small. When I play a fantasy game like Elemental I can't wait to try out the huge map. Seeing troop movements all over the world, knowing some of my armies might not be able to get support because the nearest troops are 50 turns away seems incredibly WOW to me. I hope alliances will work at the galciv2 or better level.

Banned for being a tell tale
Some people that commented on the article are a bit ruffled about having only 2 races. Nobody seems to know there are 12 factions. Maybe it should be mentioned more often.
Quoting Solam, reply 5 I want to be able to go where I want and to be able to play when I want. The irony of what you say is funny since this is what the onlive actually claims. No loading or downloading. Sign in to your account on your 128mb of ram no video card mini lab tap in a hotel room and you can play Crysis or sins on full settings. Now I g

Oh, well... my mistake(s). Sorry for having misinterpreted a few things above. Still, everything looked sooooo damn close to 'justify' DRM as a final solution to Piracy -- language barrier in my case, so please be
The real confusion comes in the details. For example, imagine if two units of swordsmen are standing beside each other. You order your unit to attack, the other player orders his soldiers to move back 10 feet. What then happens when the turn "starts"? Will the first unit follow the other or will it sit and attack thin air? If you implement CTB strict to its definition then this is what will happen. Imagine combat in MoM except both sides each get to move a unit at the same time.[/quote
I don't see why it,s so important to have many different creatures/factions in this game. Most fantasy games all have them and now we have a game that is doing it a bit different. Which I find to be good. I find a world of mostly men fighting it off quite refreshing. I read on the board that creatures will be very rare. If we have dwarves and elves, creatures do not become rare they become common place. I'll miss my lizardman from MOM but atthe same time I will find the
IIRC, Frogboy said that AI-controlled adventurers might occasionally show up and cause mischief while on their own fetch quests and missions.
Which is something I am really hoping for. If this really works it will be a really cool feature in my opinion.
I for one do not want to have to be connectedto the internet continously to play a game. I want to be able to go where I want and to be able to play when I want. Being obliged to always have an internet connection is very (for lack of a better word) bad. At home I have wireless but when I start moving I do not always have it. And having it through my cell is very expensive. It's a no no for me. I can't see that being the future either. I can't bel
Of course they said late spring. we can still have a little bit of fun. it comes when it comes.
Man, I love the part where they add the sword and the characters arm is being pulled down by its weight. The character goes sth like: "What the f... Oh, nice!"
I noticed that too. Man I just love what you guys are doing to this game. It's just WOW. Everything seems just right. It looks good I can't wait to see the finish product. HAil the [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e]
It's BETA TIME...... Just tell me where I can download it and I'll get right on it [e digicons]:dur:[/e] hehe I know spring lasts a whole season... I thought I would give it a try.... hehe
I can't believe no one has mentioned The Deathgate Cycle. One of my favorite fantasy series' by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.
Oh my yes, I've read the Story of Haplo and the Dog and Alfred. Now that's a really good story!
Thanks everybody. I'll be looking at those suggestions through my library. This way I can see if I like them befroe I buy them :-)
It's cool for a company to offer prizes like this. They do not have to. I've been a registered user for a while now. I won't win but Stardock gives me so much on a regular basis so it's ok. Way cool PC by the way.... Gimme gimme mine mine... hehe
I've also added a few lines. Stardock is a very good company and I think everybody should know.
I enjoy reading fantasy and sometimes depending on how good the book is sci-fi. I was wondering if anybody can offer a suggestion on what to read next. I've read Robert Jordan, the wheel of time, Terry goodkind the Sword of Truth, David Eddings, Belgariad and Malloreon. I've also read the Story of PUG and Thomas (which I found excellent.) As for Sc-fi I've really enjoy Rama. Hyperion and a few others.
East against West is always a very fun idea. I like it.
Keep these receipes coming. My wife can't cook anything. So the three kids and She leave me the cooking chore. I love to cook myself so it's not to bad. But at some point I just don't know what to do anymore.
All this makes me think of the time I was playing everquest 1 and for a very brief time they had introduce the possibility to slip inside as a monster in the game. INstead of playing your hero you click monster and you would spawn as a monster somewhere in the game. This lasted abouta day and I swear it was the coolest thing that I ever seen in a a game like that. All this to say that anything that will change your point of view is not a bad thing. Actually it's a
I hope to see lots of spell that can manipulate the world and the environment in sucha fshion that we can elude the opponent and trick them. Instead of direct combat. I wish I could see a spell of mass illusions. exemple, a vast army marching. Your opponant then sends it's own to intercept and when they finally get there and start combat they see that their weapons and or magic as no effect and then realise that they are facing illusions. During that time I sent another army and I am no
I loved the music! Good work.
edit - I would like to add that I hope HP goes up wit hsomething other then training. If the numbers stay consistent, eventually weapons will get strong enough that even "elite" trained units will be going down in a single hit.
I think your concerns is a real concern, however is it logical to assume that if weapons get stronger so will armor? Maybe it's something to keep in mind.
WOW is all I can say. I love the way this is going. Dragons being so dang powerful. Makes sense to me. I also like the idea that monsters cannot be manufactured. If we want them 1 we will need to find them, and 2 we will need to convince them to come and play there part with our team. This is just WOW. Can't wait to play this game. ALL HAIL THE FROG!
