Only during the Beta patches (like now). If your Net goes away, add the \localdataonly command line cmd on your .exe for Elemental. So your .exe would look like this... "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Elemental\Elemental.exe" /localdataonly then hit ESC when the error pops up and you good to go with the local copy on your disk.
Ah thank you very much. Yesterday there was an Internet outage in my neiborhood. So I tried to start Elemental from it's .exe file as I usally do (I don't go to Impulse then start the game) but I kept getting an error that said I could not access a file due to the internet being down. Once the internt came back up several hours later I could get back into it. So in the mean time I played Age of Wonders Shadow Magic (Have not played this since Elemental came out.) Well after playing AOW:SM for several ho

However, there is one important difference here; there were other 4x space strategy games available. Besides if it didn't come up to the level of GalCic 2 why bother. My read on Elemental is that it is somewhat unique and there i

Honestly if I were you I would wait for FE to come out. This game although not as bad as when it came out is still not very fun and the graphics are bland and ugly (unfortunatly I don't see this changing.) Gameplay is sub-par but improving. Tactical Combat is well not nearly as fun as AOW:SM or MOM but they are working on it. AI - Well it ain't very good at the moment but Brad is working on this. Mods- It is very moddable although I have yet to download a mod.</p

Now I can relate to many a users priorities, but THIS simply is out of my range of comprehensible values. Even where I play the campaign, the "sandbox" mode easily gets played 20, 50, hundrets of times more often.
Sandbox game play in these types of game are different each time. So you think that Twilight became so successfull because they simply copied? I´d rather guess they became so successfull because they delivered something new (well, not new like in "nothing even remotely similar ever existed", more like in "a new

So is this mod finished? I ask because I'm concidering downloading it but wanted to be sure I'm not downloading a mod in progress. With the exception of coarse of correction and upgrades. Also with this work with the Adventure and WEapons mode?
Or more probably nobody knows. Perhaps they will be trying again to make pausable-real-time tactical battles ala King Arthur. I never played Total War games but the battles in KA are much to my liking: change formations, give orders, some units assigned to champions, cast spells, have passive personal/collective abilities... That would be just fine here too. I wonder why they told us their RT tactical ba

It would be really nice to be able to add the Custom faction to a custom Sovereign in the faction editor instead of having to go into the programming and add it manually. So that when ever you use that Sovereign in the game he has his custom faction automatically unless you change it. Also when down loading from the MOD screen in the game a custom map it would be nice if it went into the right directory instead of manually doing it in the program in order to see the map on the m
Probably never. I still don't like GalCiv in any of those areas.
Oh come on.. GalCiv 2 with all expansions is a great game how can you say otherwise? I know for me this is why I'm still here because I know you guys can pull off an awsome game. War of Magic will not be this game but I do think FE will be because of lessons learned in WOM.

All you have to do is log in once (not a problem since you downloaded the game from them), set the game to offline, and you can play it all you want without needing anything else like an internet connection. Steam works because most people have no problem at all with this level of DRM. A small number of people make Steamworks out to be some kind of dem

Adventure needs Adventurers. One thing I'd like to see is adventurers spawned from the towns themselves. Borrowing from FFH, why not have Adventurer's Guilds, which would have adventurer points which spawn adventurers as random NPCs</sp

If he thinks these games are anything close to a clone of OOM or MOM he is obviously looking for a wall of text to ignore from people that need to correct him. Example: I don't mean to be rude but when are you going to make your own game Nintendo? Mario Tennis is a pretty obvious clone of Pong. And we all know you got Mariokart from watching Nascar.
As far as combat systems in cRPGs are concerned, should Stardock ever need inspiration, they ought to look no further than Temple of Elemental Evil - that game was downright perfect in this department. I'd be perfectly happy with a dungeon crawler type of experience, provided Brad and his team do not forget about creating an interesting, living world (see Ultima Underworld) with plenty of choices and consequences in regard to main and secondary quests (Black Isle/Troika tota
