Ya, agreed this is amusing, and I like how the fight between the "Bear" and "No Humour" camp is spreading into several other posts. I been forum lurking here and at GC:2 for some time. And this is my take on whats going on: Flyguy7 seems to be missing the joke, nobody is FORCING the devs to put anything they don't want in. NOBODY is <span

With Gibson one of his best stories (IMO) is Burning Chrome, which is a short story he published, i think, before Neuromancer. Sadly I haven't read Neuromancer (it's still on my todo list), But Burning Chrome was a very cool read. /parianoia For some reason in England, the word Sci fi makes people assume its some awful Flash Gordon style childrens book. I get some very weird look in book stores when i go to pay for a book , its almost as though they think i'm up to no good. [
Although I like science fiction, I'm not too keen on 'space operas' they always seem to be written rather clumbsely. As such I would heartly recommend more "Terristiral bound Science fiction". Brave New World and Nineteen Eighty Four, written by Audlex Huxley (sp?) and George Orwell respectively. I personally feel that Nineteen Eighty Four is the supperiour book but both are fantatstic. Robert Matherson's I am Legend is also
Seconded. Randomising the spell book was one of the best features of MoM it meant no matter what, you were never quiet sure which spells you were going to get. And forced you to change your stragey regularly. Which is always a good thing.
"but we design our own units so, we wont get theres". Why not after all we got a new 'factions' town and its not like swords, horse and what-not are rare. So we should be able to we steal their templates and any resources they have, which are mightn not have. Anywho i like maurding and enslaving things [e digicons]:P[/e] , lots of people do, and as such it would be a shame if it wasn't included in the game. If not for just a few 'practice wars' before the big ones with the other wiz
One of the things I liked about MoM was the Neutral towns, there weren't many of them but there were a few of them. So on my starting Contient their maybe 6 neutral towns. These towns used to be linked together via roads and were like little mini nations, and were often belonging to other races. And so though you were building your empire these were juicy little targets. And they were always worth taking. So for example my favorite race on MoM was the High elves(they always had LOTS of magic)
Well if any unit is possible, how about a Dragon riding Champion. Or a unit of fire throwing gecko capable bletching fire 20 feet. Or a elephant with a cannon on its head. A flying Disk for your mage to ride [e digicons]B)[/e] . Swarms of rats, to weaken up and destroy lesser foes. Munch minions munch till those elves P*** off. A Troll phalanax, yeah they maybe big and dumb [e digicons]8(|[/e] but if you tell um to hold a spe
Though I really like MoM I did find that the other planes thing always disorentated me. I would move everything on one plane end the turn and boom I had a how 6 cities and large stacks which i had forgoten to move because it was on the other plane, but it wa OK because it was cool, their was only the one and the bonus you gained from owning parts of Myrror were awesome, double magic from nodes, and better loot from dungeons. But when AOW:SM added the shadow plane it really wound me up. So the
Seconded, Morale is very important in tactical combat. Without morale it is pretty much i got a bigger army so i win, which is unrealistic. I play alot of WHFB, with my new chaos army : P, and it is soo fun to have a much smaller army and smash the opponent to peices and see him run from one awesome charge. I personally thing the way WHFB does moral is supperiour to say the way Total War does. But that is my opinion. Becaused, if your soilders kill say 10 of their and t
I have Vista 64x and have no problem playing any of my older games. I can play everything from rollercoaster tycoon, to morrowind, to supreme commander, even Populous:TB, dungeon keeper 1 and Starcraft (but the main menu has a few colour probelms). So I would go for 32 bit. Especially if your rig has more than 2 gig ram. And strangely vista seems to play MOO2 better then XP as long as you copy in the missing direct x files.
Hey how about some cool units like Chariots- Powerful first attack (impact hits) and then weaker attacks from that round onwards. Hopilites- Dudes with gaint spears forming close ranked formations(like the classical greek armies) Skirmishers-Small groups of archers who runaway when charged Ghosts- Weak units that can only be hurt with magic weapons Beserkers- High attacks, with lots of damage, but slightly uncontrolable. And any c
That is a good idea, and i say that as a WHFB freak. Infact if you could turn the game into like a turn based Total War game with magic and strange creatures that would be awesome. Perhaps with some special pasychology rules for magic monsters. Edit: err.... wait... i just sort of described WHFB there.....
"As a nationalist Welshmen, who despises the British state, yet has no choice but to be a part of it if he wants to remain in his own country, I am generally against the tories ( being monarchist and Imperialist in the past ). I Could only wish that the availability of weapons was more open to my people in the past, and that we had been able to follow in Americas footsteps." The Scottish tried that and we gave um 'butcher Cumberland'. The main reaon America won its independance
