Ya epic sound tracks really help games like this. Personally I find that the music included in the fall from heaven 2 mod really helps with the immersion, but then again I really liked (most of) the civ 4 soundtrack. Yes I know its not orginal and just a collection of "appropate music" but its still cool. Other sound track I really love were the Homm2-3 sound tracks. Large operatic chorus of Homm 2 were awesome, where as the ochrestal (city) music for Homm 3 was really good to listern to. Esp

Ah fighting fantasy I remeber that, the school libary had shelves of them. i must have played through almost all of them: despite the fact that they ended up being very samey. I think my favorite was: Knigths of doom, followed very closely by Crimson Tide. <img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/a7/Ff56.jpg/150px-Ff56.jpg" alt="Knights of doom, what an awesome name" width="150" height="2

Actually I think the art style is VERY COOL and eagerly look forward to playing it. It kind of reminds me of the old D&D art work and that has always brought a smile to my face. I first played MoM in 2002 and still play it on an on/off bases even today as do many people I know, so I really don't think that too many people think of graphics first. That said the graphics on that page are slightly outdated, you might want to check this thread to see a more current standard of

I played (and lost) a monarch level Fall from heaven 2 game, with the clown king. It seems the advanced ecconomic AI mod makes really works, that and I've never played as the Balsphera (sp?) before. I also played the Demigod demo and was so impressed by it I ordered myself a copy from amazon. Which is about £6 cheaper than it is on impulse. I also played TF2 and got my best yet score with the spy. 97/62 on a 24/7 2 forts server. There is nothing more amusing then backsta

Same here, I didn't buy it at first after all that news about the connection problems, for those outside of the USA. But I tried the demo and it is so awesome. Hell I don't have the fastest connection but I was able to play multiple games and had a tiny ping value (though a number of people i played with kept getting dropped). So I decided to get it. I bought it from amazon as it is slightly cheaper than from impulse. And should be getting it just before my birthday (on the 8th). So at least

That looks awesome! Quick question though, do I have to research 3 techs at once all the time? Or can I invest my 3 research points in anyway I like? For Example could I "rush" the production of "super swords mk1" by putting 2 (or even all 3) of them on it and one in "Combine harvesters"?

1. What ecconomic model did you finally plump for? 2. How is city managment and expansion handeled in this model? 3. How is Elemental progressing?

How about "Final war". All factions declare war on all other factions and are then locked out of dipolmacy. To keep it balanced players could be given advanced warning that the spell is being cast. Dipolmacy remains locked while the spell is up. However when it drops dipolmacy is reacitvated but the wars don't instantly stop. "Berserk", enemy losses control of target stack and it randomly attacks anything nearby. "Hells gate", opens a portal to an

Awesome. I love the idea of being able to raise cheap malitas from the peasent. "Right lads, your all now parts of the imfamous wall fodder company. Lead by Captain Suicide himself !" And I like the idea of a double paying for your army, i.e the upkeep and the my farmer not farming anymore. Perhaps rather than having only heroes leading the armies you could have "non-essence enhanced" members of the arstocacy.

Hi, I preordered in November, but I have not got it on my registrations on impulse. I thought it wasn't there because it wasn't released. Should I be worried? *I have got a order number and an email receit.

@ unk0wnx A BS, don't you mean Bsc? Anyway although I don't have a Bsc yet I am a second year undergraduate of Microbiology. I really don't understand how anybody who studied Biology cannot see how DNA is molecule of inheritance and of evoloution. Through use of G+C% and the DNA molecules "melting" point we can arccurately show relatedness. Through use of protein databases we can show how one protein, through traceable mutation in DNA, can be turned from

I like this idea, however I would have though that migration (or more accuratly called ethnic cleansing) should have a much large chance of a revolt and some pretty nasty diplomatic effects. People fight most hard when they have nothing left to lose, and it also makes a wonderful excuse for any foreign emporer who wants a "just war".

My Favorite fleet from Homeworld was the Turanic Raiders. Their ships just looked crude, and anceint. It gave them a rather cool appeal. The other fleet that i like was the Taiidan. I found homeworld 2 very disappointing compared to its orignal sure it was nice having fighters auto grouped as squadrons but many of the stratgies involved seemed a bit simpler than those in the original and the stripping of all the other cool races which where in the first one really irrated me. All togeth

My favorite spells from MOM (which haven't been mentioned in the OP) were Time Stop and that "raise zombies everywhere spell" which IIRC Armagendon(?) Timestop was awesome game winner spell what would happen is you cast Time stop and only you can make moves, oppenents you attack can fight back but they may not move on the main map. In addition nobody produced food, products, research or Mana. And cost you a shed load of mana a turn (i think about 35). Anywho it was such an Awesome spe

I know this isn't the point of this thread but bear with me: You can upgrade all ships of a certain class by bringing up the fleet menu, clicking upgrade selecting the upgrade and one of the options on the side then allows you to apply this to all ships (in the galaxy) of that class, but unfortunatly it does not allow you to do that to all ships in that fleet. As for auto upgrading on planetary imporvements, i can't remember exactly how to do it but there is a way, I think in

I find some of this rather offenisive, I don't like being called a cheater. I rearely Load my games and only save every couple of hours or so and when I do load my game I accept I lost (and I do feel rather deflated). Being able to save my games means that A. i can prevent lossing data from a crash B. safe guard my acheivements . If I play on a very long game (like a TW game or a Huge Civ game) why would I want to start playing from scatch? And anyway isn't starting back from hours previously

In Gal civ 2 you can set the number of turns it takes before it autosaves already. So i see no reason why Elemental wouldn't allow you to do this. As for saving when players Alt-tab, I have a feeling that would put a much greater strain on your computer which could make the program slightly more unstable(?).

Lol Family Guy family entertainment. Since when did family entertainment get broadcast AFTER the watershed. By definition stuff broadcast AFTER the watershed has already been flaged as may contain offensive stuff. " I personally do not like Family Guy at all. They are offensive, mean, racist, and dirogatory. The show exibihts no

Just pointing out the obvious here but (with tech speed) wouldn't they just include the slider thing in the game start up like in Gal Civ 2. So if your playing a large game and don't want to finish the tech tree quickly you change the tech speed to slow or very slow, where as if you wanted to get to the end quickly you could leave it on normal(big maps make lots of research) or kick it up to fast or very fast.

Faviorite game with a plot hole: Silent Hill It wasn't so much a plot hole as more of a WTF is going on. Then I checked the internet 'plot guides' and got even more confused. Still it is a brilliant game, V.scary (much more scary than its squels) and part of the fun was the "uh? WTF" is going on factor. <

I agree mounts should not survive on their own unless their something really cool, like a dragon or other OMG monster and even then they should perhaps go beserk (like the elephants in R:TW). I personally think all attacks should be directed at the rider not split between the two (unless its a said OMG monster). Making them sort of like a "glass cannon". But attacking seperately allows said rider -Babysitt

I also as a Warhammer player (the new Chaos book ROCKS) feel that if the mounts don't attack, then their only purpose is to speed up the character! So why bother with them? I love the fact that my 'hard as nails' Chaos Knights have a resonable strong horse attack as well, I also love the fact that my Juggernaugt ( a sort of large metal monster) speeds up my (unbelevable cool Chaos Lord) , gives him slight magic resistance, causes fear & improves his armour save by 3! The speed mak
