With a maximum slot of 32 there are enough slots to have fit each of the factions in twice and a bit more. If "double" factions are allowed than Stardock is going to have to find a good way of differenitating them. Usually the way best way of doing this is just to had a bit on the end for example France, The Republic of France, The Kingdom of France. 3 Easily distinguishable faction. However considering that each nation already has a bit added on to them, ie Empire and kingodms.

Bump for awesomeness. Please devs take a look over this [e digicons]|-)[/e]
[e digicons]k1[/e] For an exellent post. I think their going for a similar idea but there no harm is pointing them in the right direction. One of my favorite features of FFH2 was the barbarians and wild creatuers which seemed to be so much better and harder than their Civ vareity. In fact I don't think its worth playing without the either(or both) the Raging barbs or Barb world enabled. I though it was so flavourful and intresting defending your capital from wav
I have some high hopes for this game. And I really think that (from all I've heard) this game will final be the game that finally puts MoM to rest. As despite being a great game MoM is ancient and needs a replacement. The spell system hasn't been revealed yet, but there is a very neat tech system with infinite research. And the unit desinger will probably be one of the best parts of this game. @ NachoAdept, I don't think heroes are implemented yet.
"MatBerryman - yeah I remember that picture. I also don't remember where it was posted, though - I think it was on the GC2 forums, wasn't it?" Yeah thats where I found it oringally. "Anyways, I just noticed something. The image on the middle of the left edge of that picture looks a lot like it might have been the conceptual predecessor of the Swamp Lord in the first imagine of this dev post ." I think your probably righ
Hell YEAH! [e digicons]:dur:[/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons]XD[/e] [e digicons]k1[/e]
"Stardock typically keeps betas open for a week after they start, but I don't know if they're doing that with Elemental" I think Stardock is doing this. See here reply 2 . So you will have a week extra, if you need to use paypal and the like. [e digicons][/e]
Just to help futher speculation on Elementals creautres, I present you this link. This link is YEARS old and it surfaced during the speculations about stardocks new mystery project (known then as Not-mom). This project turned out to be Elemental. http://www.shacknews.com/extras/Breckon/stardockmystery1.jpg As you can see Stardock has some really cool ideas for some creatures. &nbs
Civ 4 combat system seems (at least to me) to be just as good as that found within all previous Civ games and all the Galciv games. Sure its not as interactive as say E:TW, but it works. It was certainly more advanced then measuring the two strengths of the army and killing the weakest. I love Civ 4 BTS it is very good and runs very nicely even on my ageing laptop. But to be fair I probably wouldn't have bougth the expansion if it wasn't for the unbeleivably good Fall F
I think frogboy mentioned somewhere else that you'd need a pretty basic 3d modeling system, Maya rather than Ganny. I'm not a 3d modeler myself but some friends of mine do a bit of it(mostly for mods) and they recommend this program. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?siteID=123112&id=13571257 Its free to download and works with (I haven't tried it myself) a wide range of eng
Same here. Though if your intrested there a really nice Lord of the rings mod for Medival total war 2. Which is both very pretty and quiet entertaining. Google "The Third age mod" and you should find it. Highly recommended!
"2.) Will it just show up on Impulse or do we have to do something special (like send in a verification code, see above)?" I beleive once the beta has been released, so long as you preordered, it should just appear. Along with a email reciept that you have been charged for said game. At least that how it worked for GC2:ToA beta.
Although this post might be old and not terribly specific, I think it gives a good idea of how stardock wants to implement this. https://forums.elementalgame.com/334164
No offence but where you get all the this GMO food is crap stuff from. Let me guess greenpeace? GMO foods are not all the same they are all very different depending upon how they have been altered. One of my lecturers is working on a way to make crops produce fish oils, and he had some really good results. Of course at the moment the only commercial GMO are the pest and herbicide resistant plants, but they are "substancually equivilant". Ie they have the same leve
Hell I'd play Dwarf fortress a hell of a lot more if it had one of stardocks wonderful UIs,
I think the definintion is that to be evil (in this game) means you channel the power of death rather than life. So rather than a good/evil devision its more a "I use death mana" and "I use life mana" devision. So therefore Fallen can use life mana and be "good" and men can use death man and be "evil". I refer you to this post, https://forums.elementalgame.com/360067/page/1/#2316330 At least that my understanding of the post I could be way off. </p
Tick tock, tick tock..... [e digicons]O:)[/e]
I'm glad their targeting the big guys rather than the cogs. I personally think this is the only way to stop piracy. Attacking the little guy does nothing. No amount of targeting "Regular joe the pirate" is ever going to be a) worth the money of the court costs b ) have any effect on its prevalance. Although not a massive fan of Microsoft, I'm glad jucitice is being done.
When I was younger I used to go down to my local Game and pick up armfulls of budget games. I'd go once a year during the January sales with £40 and walk home with 10-15 old games which I'd spend the following year completing. Many of which I still play. Heres a run down of my favorite (that run well on xp). Too bad Game doesn't do good deals on PC games anymore. Theif series The Theif series is really clever, imaginative and very atmospheric. You play as Garret and snea
Unfortunatly no. Steam just supplied the game with its rather useless manual. The espionage system does sound rather intresting and is certainly something I would like to see in Elemental. I also like the idea of tributaries and the ganging up behavour sounds awfully similar to a mechanic in Gal civ 2. As for allies providing bonus, that sound like a good mechanic and could certainly help deter the all to common conquest based steamroller effect. And make ot
I think you are charged as soon as you are able to download it from impulse. So you'll probably be charged at the start of beta 1 (early September). Not sure exactly how the box option works, but thats how it worked for GC2:ToA.
I really don't like space empires. I tried SE 4, got it on steam for £4, and its a wonderful game full of really neat ideas. The only problem was the interface was naff, the game always seemed too complicated* and in the end I just stopped trying to learn it. Any gems it did hold were quiet obviously locked away from plebes like me. As for diplomacy I realy don't remeber a great deal about it. Sure there were differnt types of aliances but the AI seem to change ther opinion of m
There is an attempt to make a freeware spirital successor to X-com. Google UFO- Alien Invasion. It is a very good game and is reasonable 3d(ish), unfortualy it is incomplete. But its worth a play through. Hopefully they will eventually get it more complete.... * *I would help but I'm a little underskilled [e digicons][/e]
Lol my bad then [e digicons]:X[/e]
Not meaning to be pissy, but shouldn't this thread be moved to the Elemental forum rather than the off topic forum. Other than that I agree with NT Jedi the number of heroes should be scalled with map size, as it would suck if say the game was balaced for 6 heroes on a "normal" size map, these six would then be slighly over powered on a smaller map and very underpowered on a huge map, they would struggle to cover the ground properly. Sort of like the speed of
