Are we still going to get a new beta release before beta 3 or do we have months to wait?
Sarudak
There's some serious innovation going on here in this mod and I hope the devs take notice of what is possible in the current system.
By 'some balance mods' you mean your mod right? Cause I don't see any other mods there about balance... :D
There's plenty of space at the beginning but what about late game when it's displaying 4 digit gold, 3 digit mana, 3 digit metal, crystals, wargs, horses, at least one of each shard and diplomatic capital? I've had mine overflow and I play at a fairly high resolution too.
Quoting Solam, reply 31I second that. A real bother checking for mienrals and gold and mana. Third
Fourth Only problem is that real estate up there is already limited. What they should do is only have gold and mana up there and have all the others compressed into another page or sidebar that can be minimized.
It's coming but not in the way you're thinking.
Why tease us with cryptic comments. It's mean and it makes me hate you...
Awesome! I think I really ought to try some modding. I've been a little put off by the lack of things like basic conditionals and my inability to do anything involving graphics.
Who is your coauthor?
I thought you guys were up to like .90 or something internally.
I say let the modders go crazy now...
I think this may be the game that will get me modding again.
I'm sure there's plenty of people on these forums at least as insane as jon shafer...
Marketing made him take it down :P
Hmm wasnt the problem with the first release that you didnt listen to people when they gave feedback? Telling folks who dont share your "vision" to go somewhere else might not be the best response.
No that was not the problem with the first release. The problem with the first release was that they didn't stick to any kind of vision and made too many fundamental dramatic changes up to the very end r
These changes look really top notch. Can't wait to get my hands on the next beta.
Good to hear we're on the same page. The other thing I would really like is if there was a more meaningful difference between the different weapon types. I see a sword an axe and a hammer in the first weaponry tech and when I look at the stats I get the feeling that it doesn't much matter which one I choose as the differences seem so minor. Don't force the player to make choices if the outcome is so minor that their choice doesn't matter. That's really no fun at all.
Which is a different argument all together. Starting out with swords is "fun" but not clubs? The starting point, game-mechanic wise, is irrelevant. Either weapon technology is a progressive thing or it's not. If someone thinks it shouldn't be, then they're really looking for a different game. If they agree that weapon technology should be progressive, then it makes sense to start it at a point that people can agree
King of the Wastes and the Third Book of the Magi are a couple that I've seen sometimes. Also. Mutually exclusive techs would be freakin awesome. Way way better than random techs. Plus it would open up so many opportunities to modders.
How many generations since the 'collapse of civilization' is this supposed to be? And how are people surviving in the wastes if they forgot everything about agriculture and how to make spears and bows? I'm not saying that I would be able to go out there and start making effective weapons but these people have are either first generation survivors who had professions before or they're survivors from the wastes who would be relying on the ability to make primitive but effective
The dog is a joke. Totally worthless.
Gah, why Umber so unpopular? 3%? I blame Kulan, worst Sov in the game and he has stupid hair. Redo him into something that makes sense. (Not a high Dext, low Int mage/warrior.)
Which is kinda funny cause right now umber has the most OP insta win strategy in the game.
This seems like a good idea.
Frankly i would be happy if there was no option to create your own faction. If you want to make your own faction then learn some XML.
The words you are saying are blowing my mind with incredible awesomeness. There's clearly a lot of potential in the current system for interesting city management choices.
