I worry about 32-bit systems for the BASE FE. If you have a 64-bit OS, FE will see 4GB. But if you have a 32-bit OS, you only see 2-GB. If it uses more than that, the game will crash ungracefully. It's amazing how much memory things take now. For instance, a modern ICON uses about 400k - compressed (And games deal with bitmaps under the covers). Let's assume FE has 250 spells by
This is incredibly important to the industry. Not having access to more memory is very limiting these days. For instance, for those of you who have read Elemental: Destiny's Embers, you know that the Fallen aren't just "big humans". They are, effectively, a collection of fantasy archetypes. The Ironeers are supposed to be dwarves. But we can't have lots of equally equippable body t
I agree with you. I've put considerable effort into 0.915 to ensure this. For the record: Monsters are supposed to not care whether it's a human or an AI. The technical difficult stems from FOW. The monsters don't get their own so I "borrow" from the player's FOW to help them "see". This has, naturally, let them to tend to "see" players better than AI players. I've taken steps in 915
Yeah... How can we have 64bit only content if there's no 64 bit version of the game?? :P
I have experienced this problem also. Funny we hear nothing from the devs about it. Maybe people should start submitting bug reports?

What makes you an expert? :P
Right, I think there should be an armor spell that is weak to ranged attacks. It would be a little odd to have one that protects and one that does the opposite from the same magic source, but there aren't too many other options of we are using Elements as the source of the power.
I think that would be appropriate for fire. Some kind of cloak of brilliant light that makes it difficult to look at your opponent when y
I have never understood why game forums seem to draw so much vitriol... I think the game is coming along nicely. Although I haven't played it enough to give it a rating...
I think it makes sense the way it is. The advantage of pariden is they can make all their heroes more magical with the books. It's not about teaching their sovereign something she doesn't already know.
I know right? Umber was my favorite faction because you could cheese so good with endless legion. Although now we have magnar slaves for that role... Lol
I would be more than happy with monsters that gain new abilities as they level (DKL shamans learning new spells) and some more monsters of the same type from lairs. Pack drakes and forest drakes from the same lair and darklings, darkling archers and shaman from their lair for example. It would be awesome if young monsters (young ogres) could be expanded so they change models when they reach a certain level. Like if you level a wolf, i
Well the danger of distracted drivers will go away once we get self driving cars...

But I will wait to see.
It will be good if the techs are more expensive and more meaningful. Then your techs will feel more like accomplishments and meaningful strategic choice.
Wow! This sounds really really really awesome...
I could do this...
The idea of mining asteroids IS kinda ridiculous considering we have far more material right underneath our feet. Moon mining bases would be more realistic but only for very valuable materials like radioactives (go thorium go). Antimatter is not a way of generating energy as it is a way of storing it. Realistically the best energy source we have within our theoretical grasp is fusion and that's a really good energy source if a long way off. The best energy source we have at hand is nuclea
This thread is hilarious.
In my experience devs are happier than QA people... Oh wait... Maybe that's just me.
It's not a joke. I'm almost positive Kael had blogged on this at some point. About the city specialization? That a city on the main map would be 1 tile and would "grow" a little bit based on what level and specialization it was but the improvements would be built on a separate screen ala Civ. You could look at your pretty city in the city build window but on the main map it'll basically be 1 tile with each faction havin
I think FE is a 6 or a 7. If only I could get a 64 bit version that could make use of all my available memory that would put it up to an 8 or 9... ;)
5k is very excessive. In fact I built my machine for around 2k and it was very near top of the line when I built it. I could have probably blown another 1k on it but wouldn't have really gotten much more out of it overall.
But we are all playing on max possible graphics. Fb said this is intended to improve the efficiency of the game, but can be turned down to accommodate less RAM usage. I also think that 8 cores running a multithread game should run much faster as far as turn speed goes. As far as my new PC, the best solution may simply be to recreate Frogboy's PC myself. I had hoped that I could throw money at a company to avoid all the troublesho
Will there be any possibility of a 64-bit binary that can make full use of my system memory? (I have 12GB)
