This looks simply amazing so far, but will there still be the ability to create a custom faction and character ingame, or at the very least be able to place them via modding? I would normally assume yes, but don't feel much harm in asking.
This has happened to me as well, I have sent out an email for this as well. So you're not alone on this issue, Trojasmic. Edit: Seems to be resolved now.
After revealing the whole map through the cheat, I noticed that there was only 1 lost library on the whole map.... on an island...far off. At first I had assumed it was a glitch, and thus recreated the map 2 to 3 times noticing that indeed there were about 1 or so lost library on each one; I really think this is a good idea in the long run however as a sort of super bonus.

My biggest issue with the AI as of the beta, is that some factions(AI) will expand everywhere without regards to food or anything while others will do absolutely nothing and remain with only one city even after a while in.
One thing I can't trust about stardock....when they say they are going to bed. XD

This campaign looked more like to me as a tutorial and an example of the modding tools available and what you can do with them; Future campaigns are surely to be better. Although don't quote me at a later date. XD
Agreed on many points, mainly weapons such as hammers and broadswords should not have the same effect with everyone, one person could be more proficient than the other sounds a lot better. I believe quests are creatable using the tile system, check the modding forum on this though. I really wish for a coast line resource that would allow a fishery, it would add more reasoning to being closer to the water and a little bit of variety. I fully agree on expand

Ironically, Elemental's quality even at release is far above most AAA games of today (I'll name a few, if need be) and those games don't really receive any updates to help freshen up the game itself. So, I will go ahead and enjoy playing Elemental while others can go enjoy rehashed games marked as sequels that intend to suck as much money out of your wallet through both it's updates and chunks of ugly that fall off.

Yes, there is no research of spells or technology that you can do; certain technologies will unlock later on allow you to build buildings and use different spells.
