After upgrading to 1.4, the relationships just seem to have no rhyme or reason. You get your info on the report with the + and - thing, but the actual "friendly" or "close" didn't seem to coincide with the report at all. True that man. I'll have a race with three pluses and one minus be hostile, and at the same time a race with just one minus an

Does anybody else feel this way? It's not that I'm not busy at work, it's just that my job involves waiting for other people (or sometimes machines) to get their work done before I can proceed with anything. I'm blocked out of instant messenger, people never answer emails faster than regular mail, so all i've got left are these forums.

It's best to finish a game before updating, it could cause crashes and various other problems otherwise. I don't know, I've never tried it. You should try it and see if something cool [errrr catastrophic] happens

Wow, you're hard core. I absolutely *hate* micromanagement. I agree with that. But the system should still accommodate the hardcore, which is why I overlooked it as well. I don't know about suicidal, but obscene is still fairly beatable with

I don't think it's intrinsic to the algorithm that it can only save at end turn. What do you think? You're absolutely correct. So I amend my statement to say Disable all UI save functionality *except* for being able to press a save button. I don't even think the user should be able to name the file. But, no, it does not matter at what point the g

Why restrict this to the metaverse? This should be a feature of every game. I'm not sure how this could be implemented, because couldn't someone always copy the autosave file to somewhere else and then copy it back if a decision went badly for the player? I've actually got constructive answers to both for once... The ironman suggestion s

. I figure at most they can see that x number of planets were taken over in y number of turns which could be caused by many reasons. I dunno... there's a lotta information inside of the debug files. I think it's quite possible that they know the info on every ship you build, since he also alluded to it "being a pain to figure out." I took that as

- after a mega event that raises planet quality (is that a mega event?) in a sector on all planets, AI doesn't bother to even try and colonize the planets that have been made available to them. From what I've heard about mega-events, no, since this exists in GCII as well. And the AI doesn't seem to *build* colony ships after one of these events;

And just so you understand what we think of as AI: AI is the decision making algorithm by a computerized opponent. This is true for all games across the board. Things like the growth model and the universe creation would be considered separate algorithms inside of the game.

Ew upgrading... I almost never upgrade, it's usually way too expensive of a process as a whole. Maybe that's because I build ships in mass quantities, and refuse to spend the time upgrading ships individually. Gifting exploit ftw

Coding AI can be frustrating? It sounds to me like an open admission that coding AI can be frustrating. All coding *can* be frustrating Coding AI *is* frustrating. Especially when some dumbass professor gives you the design... that is bogus... and... ugh... if you code AI you are a better man than I

Look no further than this thread for proof. So who was the bigger idiot? The guy who started the thread, the guy who agreed with the dumbass/sarcastic strategy, or the guy who wasted his time writing up that dumbass/sarcastic strategy?

I find that the best option for filling those multi-module transports is to have, yes have, a few high population planets where the morale is hovering near that forty percent mark. Filling the transports quickly raises the planet's morale rating and buys me at least ten turns before I repeat the process. That'll teach the peasants to complain about things like entertai

Just thought I would clarify since it seems that someone feels I don't even own this game since I don't play the Metaverse. Wow. NO METAVERSE SCORE? We could avoid the obsolescence issue by making it cheap to upgrade ships as it's cheap to upgrade my computer. Right now, upgrading is far too expensive. Well... with some of these ideas in mind that could lead to bad things. I.E. building a ship of 100% engines to get into position, then upgrading it to a full scale battleship <br/

I agree that forcing up the minimum specs is better than code changes but if the AI is smarter by restraining the pace that human players gain ship speed, maybe it can work. While it's not really our problem, Stardock sells more copies by keeping the specs down. Right on target. I'm just saying that people who complain about things t

I got a 1600 on my SAT's and that was before the test was devalued (twice). I also have a Phd in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It's a little school we have here in Cambridge, MA. Perhaps you've heard of it. BTW what are your credentials? Dag, I'm a meager 1450 SAT boi cuz i dun don't speka da engris

Perhaps I don't. But I do realize how few decisions *your* brain takes into account before hitting the "Post Comment" button. while(!Mumblefratz.istalkingabout(GCII)) { System.out.println("ROFLCOPTER"); }
