Either that or Karma's complete and total jelousy and envy over me reached its zenith, then added with his ass fetish to create that profile. As usual the irony and hypocrisy of your words knows no bounds... precisely what would I or anyone else have to be jealous of YOU about? Yet long after I stop talking about you, you bitterly continue to throw these cheap insults at me... sounds like you are in fact jealous of me... for I could truly care less about you.

Okay..... ok... 1) You dont own the game, you haven't played it, you can't really critisize anything. I have played it and even if I hadn't I would still have a valid opinion on general issues. strike one. ok. 2) You cling to a game that was proposed on the Old Old OLD forums, a game that no longer exist. Cling to the ideas that were innovative and gr

a small partol boat from WW1/2 would do no damage to a battleship from the same era. I mean, if you got lucky and hit the pilot house or something then sure you could do some damage... but you'd be completely unable actually damage the ship itself. The armor is too thick. I'm tired of arguing this point... you're wrong and the game isn't going to change... so I'm wasting my point on this point.

I'm new around here, and all I see is his posts everywhere. The game isnt crap like he seems to make it sound. I didn't say the game sucks... I have some problems with it... this is a beta/fan feedback forum... Riiight? or is this a "oh my gosh everything is always perfect" forum?... It's called constructive criticism. I'm tired of being insulted by lackwits.

Hi, there... it's called an analogy. There are times when one must take one's own advice. Assuming tank is analogous to capital ship, find me a ship in game that's analogous to 'guy with gun'. The closest you'll come up with is trade ship/colony ship/fighter squadron, and in that case the analogy holds amazingly well. No, how about the basic frigate?... You start with one on most maps I think... a

really? I heard the devs say that ships decrease in speed as they go deeper into a grav well. is that wrong? As to what ships are supposed to do, ron... do you honestly think you're telling me something I don't know? That was my point.

careful, your petty bastard is showing. Ironic as well... and why shouldnt your voice carry as much weight? Did anyone ask you that question? Or did you just ask yourself the question because you wanted to answer it? Here's a question why should I respect your opinion on this issue? *crickles* Exactly. File that one away and remember it for the future the next time you

it was planned and tested... it was one of the primary things that made me interested in the game in the first place. Apparently it was scrapped because it confused some people... you know... the velcro shoe crowd.

Ironic... do you know why he asked that question? No you don't. Yet your presume to answer for him when you don't know... and inform me that I shouldn't give my opinion about a game because some people might know marginally more about it then I do. If you took your own advice you wouldn't have answered for him. Yet you did... Why don't you let people give their opinions about stuff without getting all snarky about how much they've played. Most of these ideas are valid

Recover from communism? Brother, the south still hasn't recovered fully from slavery, the civil war, and generations of bigotry and racial discrimination. At least in eastern europe they're "one people"... in the south you still have that black v white rivalry bs which makes it very hard to get anything done. To say nothing of a local culture that has so many problems with it I almost don't know where to start. Again, you want to see poor areas in the US, I can show them to you. Di

The specifics are what beta testing is for but generally I think the effect should be longer. Are you a beta tester Karmashock? yes... not for this game... but I've done it before... why do you ask?

How does a guy with a pistol take on a guy with a tank? Should ten thousand 9mm bullets kill a tank? He doesn't be an idiot. He takes his shovel and digs a hole and then leads the tank over it. Or any of a dozen other tactics I can't quite remember. That would be fine, except for in the game all the character and player will do is noob a huge force of guys pistols at the tank that wil

Balance might be a minor issue, btw -- take a look at the "carrier doctrine" idea, for example. In a smaller grav well, thats just fine and isn't a real problem. But in larger grav wells, such as the sun, having fighters that are significantly more effective -- to the degree of being a "primary" force even in face of flak frigates, as Karma seemed to suggest -- they would rapidly become overpowered. The high speed of fighters already makes them

There needs to be a greater distinction between normal weapons and your special weapons. Special weapons need to make a BIG impact... they need to be able to turn the tide of a battle not just boost one ship's combat power by 20 percent or something. Likewise, they should be harder to spam. Maybe increase the cool down times by a lot or increase AM cost. But I think they should all be more powerful and less frequent. The only reason I can think to keep them both weak and frequent is because peop

Wait a minute, I thought ironclad said that the hard AI "does not" cheat? I've only played a few games as its on my friend's computer and they were all hard games... I never had a problem taking the AI down because it never left it's home system... But is this true? Does the hard AI's ships have more hit points? Because that is cheating. The hard AI has to be hard because it's smarter... not because it gets free stuff.

I'd just like to throw in my support for extending the effect of the ion blast. Can you spell imba? IonBlast lvl3 has a CoolDown of 9 seconds with a duration of 7 seconds. It has an Antimatter cost of 65 while the Akkan has (at lvl 4 where you get the lvl 3 IonBlast first) antimatter reserves of 260+3*35=365 or about 5.5 shots. Lvl4 Akkan regenerates 1.15 antimatter/second. 5 shots * 9 sec

But there should be no rockpaper scisors units like you talk about, and yes, 1000 people with 9mms could take a tank easily, they dont all shoot at it at the same tiem but you can rush the tank, board it and wait, the crew cant do much if your sitting on the damn thing, but anyway... It's not rock paper scissors. It's dude with hand gun versus tank. If I were to simply your idea to the same level it would be rock rock rock. No paper... no scisso

were any other games running when you loaded it sins? Because most games won't tolerate multiple games making demands on the 3d card. anyway, I've seen problems like this where a game will screw a computer's display drivers up. Though typically a simple reboot will fix it. I had one game where EVERY SINGLE TIME it closed, it killed the 3d part of my display drivers. I could watch movies etc just fine with full HW acceleration, but if any 3d game tried to load it would say there was

The only problem with the stars is that your ships slow WAY down when around it. This appears to be Ironclad's kind of gravity... ie the bigger the well the slower your ships move. But I think it works against the game play. Ships should be able to move around a big gravity well quickly. What I really don't understand about the way the well works is that speed is generally reduced as you go deeper into the well, This makes no sense. If there is to be no orbits, then a

One idea in here that is good is interstellar tradeships. Perhaps if you upgrade one or more trade stations they can outfit larger interstellar ships that have a bigger impact on your economy... thus giving you extra incentive to take systems around different stars.
