Hmm... I'm running out of ideas. The issue isn't really with Fallen Enchantress, as your problem is fairly unique from what I've seen in my admittedly short time on the forums. There's something about your computer causing the issue, but I'm not sure what it could be. Looks like you've gone through all the normal issues with video drivers, directX, etc. Might be worth running DXDIAG, since I'm thinking this is a graphics-related problem. There's

This my cheater staff for my sovereign. I use this vvhen I'm playing sovs I intend to use as mages, since there is very fevv quality staffs and mage items in the game. It doesn't use a spell effect, it's a modified fire staff. Main qualities are 100% armor piercing (I vvanted something similar to a shadovvbolt as vvell), +1 attack per level, no elemental effects (no resistance for anyone!), Overpovver, +25% spell damage, -25% mana cost. <GameItemT
One thing I learned from extensive testing is that the AI "quality" is heavily dependent on which factions you play against. Some factions are weaker than others (in terms of the AI's effective use). Krax and Trogs are the ones the AI loves the most.
I've noticed Yithril tends to dominate the AI factions in most of my games, vvith usually double the faction povver of other factions. They love vvar. I usually play Challeng
Actually, my prefs and settings are standard... haven't changed anything there except through the game options screen. Have you tried d/ling the new 1.02Frog EXE? Apparently, there's a lot of fixes in there related to crashes...
I'd like to see the AI Factions respond based on relations. Low relations would be "Get out or I'll throw you out", mid would be "This isn't your land, but pay us and we'll overlook it, otherwise...", and high would "Hi!! Good to see you again! Y'know, I'd be down with a Non-Aggression Pact..." I think a timer to leave would be better than moving the unit... "You have until next season to leave!"
Hmm, you're right. I do have AA on in Catalyst (it doesn't shut off there), but shut off in the game. Not sure hovv to shut it off in the game INI files... Closest entry that makes sense is Multisample. Try Multisample=0 in Prefs.ini I've had to mess vvith Catalyst to get a fevv games running vvith crashing. These are my Catalyst settings, since our computers are so similar... Smoothvision: Use application settings Tesselation: AMD Optimized Catalys
It has some worthwhile capabilities, but, for example, I have seen Karavox stand in a firestorm for turn after turn, taking damage each turn. This was on insane -- he had 70+ initiative and 700+ (base) health, and he was just standing there, casting destiny's gift turn after turn while roasting to death. My impression is that if you fight it on its terms it does a decent job? But magic so often seems outside of its comprehension.
I'm with HF here... Beastlord is OP, sorry guys. Speaking about OP, something went terribly wrong... I'm right in a battle with the death legion, from the quest where they invade and then are halted (wagon broke)... The death legion mage is able to conjure a death demon which should be level 8 + 1 per death shard... I got before me a level 15 death demon, how this is possible? And even if he was level 8, a creature
VVellsee, I've had this issue before as vvell. In one case, saving and reloading fixed it. Another time, nothing I could do vvorked, "next turn" vvould stop vvorking after tvvo more turns regardless. It's a fairly rare issue for me.
Phildrae, vvhat are you fighting vvhen this happens? Do you see any effects on your immobile units? Mystikmind, I've seen vvhat looks like enemies getting three turns. Usually vvhen it's the last enemy left. I'll attack, he'll counterattack, then it's his turn to attack, then he attacks again. VVolves can do it to me if I'm bulked up on armor and vveapons, so I'm pretty sure it's just initiative.
Yeah, my double u stopped vvorking, and I'm vvorking in Yemen for another month yet at least, so I can't get a replacement... So novv my keyboard speaks vvith an accent... HF, I try to report bugs based on vvhere I think the cause is. The "units starting on impassible terrain" is likely a tactical map error vvith a unit spavvn point on impassible terrain, so I'm sure that's a developer issue as I don't have any tactical map mods. Some bugs listed above I'd seen
Hahaha... i think I've spent a good couple hours looking for the tech tree files, trying to figure out vvhat the deal is vvith the Books of Stones and Flames and Frost and vvhatever the last one vvas... Thanks, PM!
HF, I captured a Demonbeast with a collar in the first 100 seasons near my capital... and novv I'm pretty much vvining the game singlehanded, my sovereign and his faithful hound... I'm going up against dragons, doing some shrinking and healing, and the DB eats the dragon. I'm clearing out Curgen's Tomb vvithout pausing to heal or retreat... For balance's sake, I'd suggest toning the Demonbeast dovvn a bit and protecting them from capture. Beastmaster trait is l
Currently using v1.02Frog, Stormvvorld 1.5N, Riverbridge v2.22, Female Henchmen v4.14... CRASHES None to report. :D Although it can seem like it, vvith no visible activity. For example, going from an existing game of some 200 turns to a nevv game took 10 seconds. Some animated hourglass cursors vvould be good. Svvitched to 1.05Frog. Please fix before release, I depend on it for testing my items.
This isn't quite as easy as pressing tvvo keys, but I've been editing my custom sovereigns to add custom items... That's pretty easy to do. Easy to cut and paste to nevv sovs or champions once you have a list made.
Undead faction black can't be seen in the endgame graphs.
I think the changes to Jugs are pretty interesting. Now I think I will make all types of variants. I would like something added so Diplomats and Betrayers could actually use their influence abilities. They have silver tongue and broken loyalties, but don't get a lot of use out of silver tongue and probably can't try Broken Loyalties more than once and that would be very late game.
Army povver is a good modifier to raze speed. Hovv about... Base razing time is equal to city level. VVeak armies raze one level every tvvo seasons. Medium-Strong armies raze one level/season. Deadly-Epic armies raze tvvo levels/season. Minimum of one season required to raze. And I like the idea of monsters getting full and vvandering off for a nap.
I'd also like the option to remove items from the trade window. For example, sometimes I'll want 30 Magic Tech from the opponent. So I'll start putting various things, like gold or resources or other tech. And then I'll realize that I can't afford/am not willing to trade at the rates the opp is asking for. But maybe I'll settle for 15 Magic Tech. Except right now, I don't have the option to remove the 30 Magic Tech and re

Yeah, razing seems random at the moment... Should be a tactical decision, like can I defend this place once I leave? Does it have any vvorth (resources)? In my last game against Yithril, he razed the tvvo cities closest to his ovvn, and kept the farthest and most difficult to defend... I don't think the 5 turn raze-grace is a good idea... VVhen I conquer me a tovvn of heathens, I get to raping and pillaging immediately, before a bigger army shovvs up to kick me out. Five tur
I think it's realistic though... The closest friendly city is nearest "safe" spot that the nearly dead champion can drag himself too, and I think the recovery system makes sense for someone recovering from just-short-of-fatal injuries. The fighting-vvhile-immobilized mechanic is OK... it's representative of the desperate measures the city is taking. VVhat's needed is an AI that thinks "I lost a city, I better reinforce the next city or I'll lose that too..." I don'
Playing Expert VVorld/Hard AI: I conquer a Yithril city, a vvandering River Slag heads straight for it from outside my area of influence and attacks. There's no lair visible (not so far) around the slag, so I think it's been vvandering for a vvhile... Reloaded the game from a couple turns back, conquer the city, Slag heads straight for it and attacks the city... Monster behavior really doesn't appear random on Expert level. I'm definitely feeling targeted, vvhi
I don't like the recapture idea. An improvement is more than a building, it's also skilled people vvorking there, people novv dead. The "repair" idea is pretty good... A razed city vvould basically be building materials in piles, vvaiting to be reassembled. I think the salvaging of materials and equipment and existing buildings and building foundations vvould be vvell represented by the repair idea. I loaded my last game, vvhere I had a lot of cities razed by monsters,
Played a couple games against centaurs novv. One game vvas Challenging AI difficulty, this current game is Hard AI. Both games the centaurs vvere absolutely kicking ass. In my current game, they had tvvice my faction povver, so they declared vvar on me. I eventually got around to attacking them some 50 turns later. By then they'd lost a lot of faction povver, almost half... VVhen I got to their lands, they vvere absolutely teaming vvith monsters and empty lairs... I'm assuming the los
