Is it an absolute increase of gold or a %. If percentage, I would send every caravan to a gold city.

Sorry it's been a while. I searched and saw no specific answer. Caravans used to make food.... What do Caravans do now?

Very good tips. I can already see how the beginning will be better. I haven't played for a while, so pardon me by asking...Do people now supply gold? (in the past only gold mines did. If you didn't have one, you were doomed)
I'm thinking that it should work like a simplified Gratuitous Space Battles after playing it. Nice game, but a bit overdone. You get your ships, you give them orders, then let them at it. No in-battle guidance needed. One thing I'd like to see from this is to have more variety in types of weapons with the technologies- like point defense lasers that fire quicker for less damage/range, and mauler lasers that are real slow to

Rather than making a new post, I’d thought I bring this one back to the original intent. I seem to have trouble at the very very beginning. The advice in here is good and once I get past a certain level I do well, but the first 20 seasons seem to be really dangerous. My very begining strategy is to collect the goodies, research warfare (unless I see a library, at which point I do quests to build a library). Most of my people, including heroes and myself are ve

I've seen a few patches, just wanted to check in on the improvements since November 2010. Any big changes? Sorry to put it this way, but is it worth playing now?
Quoting Black-Knight, reply 4 They are adding three teleporting spells and reducing the cost to teleport. I can't wait!!! I think n00bonian was just pulling your leg Black-Knight. You've been very vocal about not wanting any kind of teleport, so n00bonian is having a poke at you. I have been keeping close tabs on the details, and I haven't seen any men

Thanks all for the Help. Going to get one. But I could use some more help. How (exactly how) do I move the temp files, swap files, and other active data transfers from the SSD Hard drive to another regular hard drive?

I have been hearing about solid state hard drives (not the hybrids, but solid state only), ~$200 for ~150GB. Some have said that their computers start up and finish loading in 10 seconds. Before I jump in the pool, was hoping some people could share their experiences or even recommend a product. I was thinking about a 150GB solid state drive fo
brings to mind an important point: Why are they called Moon Gates? What do they have to do with the moon?
Fist time I saw Moon gates were in the Ultima games and then in Ultima online. There were a number of moon gates around the world. When you stepped in, your destination would depend on the phases of the two moons. You had to look at a map and figure out the phases required to take you to your desired location. Was kind of neat.

In many games, my empire just gets way too big. If I find a problem that requires a certain stack of troops it can take 20 to 40 turns to get there. From one side to the other can take more than 60 turns. And these are WITH roads. Suggest implementing a “Gate” spell. Suggest two options: Caster casts Gate spell in area 1 (say by Capitol City). Same caster travels to another city, area 2, (a city at the “front lines”) and casts Gate

Gold is a driving force in this game and after ~75 turns or some of my cities are as big as I want them and have good defenses. So they just sit there. (I could make troops, but they take forever to get to where I need, so I don’t). Suggest adding tech to make commercial goods to increase gold output. Recommend +5 gildar over +25% gildar because many of the cities in this situation don’t have gold mines. Maybe even have gildar proportioned to population +x gildar

I think they don't have an AI warning. If you don't have a non-agression pact you may be able to attack them without consequence. (not sure). In other games, you can kill almost anything you want (outside of their territory) without risk of war. But it does tick them off a little each time. Not sure what EWOM's AI logic on this is. Otherwise, why have a non-aggression pact.

* Battles * + The starting side in a tactical battle is now chosen randomly. The attacker and the defender have an equal chance to go first. This is a short-term change. In the longer term, we are moving to an initiative system (individual units moving based on their combat speed rather than each side taking a turn together). THAT..is going t

This is great….great start. A lot of the ideas in here would make it even better. Unfortunately a lot of these ideas require more columns, and there is not that much room. I was going to try a different tactic and list the functions I find myself wishing for when I play. (going to skip the ones you already have, like are all my cities making troops?). Are each of my cities defended adequately? (mouseover for troops, or maybe show troop icons behind city name
With regard to the AI not knowing about the strength of enemy cities, have you thought about adding espionage units to the game? Most 4X games have espionage just for this reason - because neither the AI nor human can make a coherent strategic decision without it. The human can use caravans for this, but that's a side effect trick. With magic in the game, it's reasonable to have units with cloaking ability (and of course those units would be able

WOw, I didn't know that. So one could make a bunch of peasants and send them toward a town to increase growth rate? Hmmm...does that make sense to do?

Wonder if they are trying to enforce "protecting your trade routes" and actually spawn creatures on or near roads. I've noticed the same thing. I end up making a group of 2 or 3 just to protect the trade routes. Generally every forest is a death trap if you don't station some units there to keep it clear. Even then, some just appear next to the caravan.

I was playing and doing well when I was reviewing the production reports on the right of the screen. It indicated that people started deserting a town that I create. I was +32 food overall so that wasn't it. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't have enough housing and people had to leave. Is that it?
