Also the reason I say the game needs a few more months in the oven is precisely what's happening. As soon as the game is "official" patches will be few and far between and paid DLC will be released with stuff that should probably have been free in the game to begin with. Now I have no issue with monetizing your work but like I said but releasing a content DLC like this weeks after the game was released is pretty bad. I thought as your own publisher you had more control over stuff

To be fair I over exaggerated a little with CTD's constantly. It does crash relatively often though compared to other games. I would say at least 2 or 3 times a day. Once every 3 hours or so. Granted you can of course play a full game but it is far from ideal compared to most other games I've played. Please don't hang on that one detail. Even if the game did not crash there are plenty of issues not related to crashing. Most the issues I am thinking about wouldn't be hardware r
I haven't really noticed any bugs (and I'm a bit hypercritical about stuff like that as a coder myself).
Oh trust me there are bugs. Just look in the support forum and the change logs. Most people just choose to overlook them or don't notice it as a bug.
With al due respect, but what exactly is your point. If i read correct you didn't come with a single arguement to underline your statement that the game is unbalanced and unfinished. Apart from your personal opinion that its unfinished. How on earth can someone prove your wrong if there is nothing to prove.
Like I said I really had no point. Just getting it off my chest. To me the game still lacks polish and see
Okay so I finally had the chance to sit down and play a few hours of LH 1.1. I'm disappointed to say that once again it feels like another release that is not yet ready for prime time. I was not able to finish one game. The game is still buggy and almost unplayable. From a balance, design, and content stand point to straight up constant CTD's. I'm not sure how else to say this or what to elaborate on as the issues are many. There's some obvious issues that persist since WoM!!<
Yep, not even Stardock is immune to the curse of releasing things early to patch up later.
I would even go as far as saying it's been a plague for them! One that there is no immunity for. I would even argue FE standalone isn't even a finished product. To me it's still pretty buggy/unpolished and pretty much unplayable. LH isn't just an expansion but really just Stardock finishing up FE.
You were lead developer on Civ 5. You either drank too much of your own koolaid or lied about the state of the game up to its release then when it turned out to be a buggy mess you tucked your skirt and ran leaving your team and the customers holding the bag. The concepts look interesting but exactly why should we trust you give your track record? Have you found Jesus or something to differentiate you from Jon Shaffer of the past?[/quo
Good to hear! To be honest I am still disappointed with how buggy and unpolished feeling FE is but I have hope because you guys continue to work on things and never give up!
I still have high hopes for the game but it's still pretty buggy so in the mean time I've been playing Civ V. Go figure . . .
I find a pure melee hero to be pretty sub-par. There's nothing stopping you from making a hybrid though. Only thing being not picking path of the mage makes it so you spend more mana and do less damage with spells but you still have magic as a powerful second option for when your melee skills won't cut it.
mdonais does have a point. champions become all powerful pretty quickly. i think the only thing limiting them right now is the amount of mana they have and the weak weapons you find limiting their damage potential. other than that i still have managed to win about 4 full games on challenging with no units built at all besides pioneers.
i notice this happens also after Titan's Breath and other multi-turn spells.
This is an issue if you have more than one active army. After you move the first army it automatically zooms to the next active army. The problem is if the first army ended up on a treasure, quest, or monster the appropriate pop-up comes up referencing the first army but you are zoomed onto the second army. This makes it very confusing as to which army the decision you're making applies to. Yes you do see some army info in the case of items and battles but at a glance it's very hard t
There seems to be a discrepancy in the tax toop tip. When you hover over the two arrows the tax info changes but it doesn't seem to be accurate. After you click it you end up with completely different values. My guess is it's not taking something into account, maybe unrest from certain sources like spells and governor traits?
Overall I feel like .951 is a lot more solid than the initial BETA 4 release. Good work guys! I'm getting less crashes, less slow downs, and more reliable saves. A lot of bugs are still around but they are less detrimental to actually playing the game which was my biggest complaint. I actually had a 300+ turn game last night without any major issues. A few note/suggestions: Drag and dropping for the tactical battle hotkeys would be heaven! Or better yet borr
Not sure which is correct as I've never cast it but the Blood Rage spell shows up in the Unit Enchantment category but in the description it talks of it enchanting a city.
Just a minor cosmetic bug. In the city info screen, the tool-tip for production doesn't correctly break out the Obsession spell bonus into it's own category like it does for other bonuses. It does so correctly for the gildar bonus. It does still add to production though but I've cancelled it a few times thinking it wasn't actually doing anything only to have my production drop considerably.
Well, I must say, this clearly isn't the right game for you.
The thing is for the OP and me this IS probably the closest game to being the game for us. It's just so poorly executed and buggy. I actually have very little complaints and praise the gameplay but if the core gameplay doesn't even work right then the best game mechanics and design in the world couldn't save the game. I k
I agree a lot with the OP. It seems once again, like E:WOM before it, this game is turning out to be a buggy mess. The release will be a botched one. I feel like at this stage it should be a lot more polished too. I've put countless hours and nights into this game to test and just can't get past one or two hundred turns without the game being unbearable. I will give them some benefit of the doubt until BETA 5 comes out but the fact that it is being put on Steam as is means it
Added the Road Building champion ability (requires Path of the Governor)
i love the long list of fixes and balancing! [e digicons][/e] Only thing I'm worried about the above is the rarity of a Path of the Governor Champions. Usually if you have one you'd rather he stay in the city to provide his bonuses. In between trying to get him into early fights to level him up some and building roads I feel like we might be spreading that one champion
Sweet! Tool Tips that outline what traits open up what would be awesome too . . . please =)
Exactly my sentiments seanw3! . . . We're not trying to sound like your random over-entitled gamers. We actually have a long history of participating in the betas and doing what we can to help. We've helped identify bugs and gave input on a lot of the things you see in the game now. Don't take my post personally (it was meant for the devs unless you are one of the devs?) and don't just concentrate on specifics of my words or tone because you are missing
It would amaze me too but I work in software development at a few different companies now and lingering bugs almost always mean there is a bigger issue at hand. There is a small chance they are just focusing on other things and will come back to it later but that is very rare from what I experienced. A lot of times because of deadlines those things set aside never get looked at again. Not saying all development companies are the same but trust me it is not a baseless complaint. Contrary to wh
Yea I suppose you are right ins2 I did start off pretty negatively but I guess at the very least I did list some pros first. I do apologize for the tone it sets. Game play wise I agree BETA 4 is a vast improvement. This game has been a roller coaster ride though. You have to understand I actually am quite emotional about this game and comparing it's progress with the first game in the series I am drawing a lot of parallels. You might not pick up on a lot of this if you just star
Please stop whining... They have publicly said that there is AT LEAST one more beta in which the majority of balancing and AI optimization will take place... It is a BETA... Whether you pretend to understand this or not... Brad has said it is mostly stable.. Don't read anything else into this like a 6 year old child.
I am not whining. I am posting feedback. There is a difference. I have alw
