Yeah, you really don't have to purchase anything. You unlock most of the card abilities pretty quick. Also, each game can be played without card abilities.

I'm looking at some of the low hanging fruit so to speak for issues reported as of 1.5. Familiar can't summon Air Elemental or Crag Spawn I looked at the CoreSpells.xml and noticed that 0 is missing from these two summons. After adding that line both of these spells are now able to be summoned by the familiar. There may be other summons affected as well. I only tested the summons I could enable using the cheat command

Slaves, Magic, autoresolved battles. It is possible. To get a better idea it might be good to save your current progress. Go back to a previous save and enable cheats. Turn off the fog and see what he trashed it with. Just remember slaves are CHEAP. You can build a ton fo them fast.
Honestly, I think the tower of domination should determine the capital location.

When your looking at the numbers be aware that many attributes in this game are floating point and then rounded to integer values in the UI.
Just completed it. I honestly did not use the new features much. I had a MEC a few missions each time. Lost a 68 kill sniper / MEC at the Exhalt base...FYI don't replace a Col Sniper for a MEC not worth it. Then lost my other MEC during the base defense, as well as my best squad. Mech is fun but they are bit OP. The Gene mods are nice to have but they can just break the balance of the game. Skipping on those abilities and I was back in my sweet spot for challenge. I also love game sound tracks. For Elemental all the music tracks are in Layered Music folder. It's not hidden away in a encrypted archive like some other games. Although, I don't blame you if you want a partially remixed version that many game studios release for their other titles.

Are just bosses staying in their wild lands or all units staying in their lair...I had a brief moment to play yesterday and I do not recall a single monster leaving their camp to say hi. But I need to probably verify my files I still have wargs standing on top of each other even though I have no mods enabled.
